So for burgers, I fully admit I'm a bit of a snob and hard to please. I was heartened that these are Pat LaFrieda style burgers: brisket, hanger steak, short rib, not chuck. So I gave it my best shot and ordered a TFS burger (caramelized onion, mushrooms, bacon) with two cheeses, cooked rare, plus a side of onion rings. As others have said here, my "rare" burger came out medium, so I'm sure glad I didn't leave it as the default medium. The burger was a little too salty but otherwise solid and full of flavor like good meats and toppings ought to be. The onion rings were not all that great - solid breading that drowns out the onion, and you don't get a lot for $8 (plus dipping sauces cost extra, unless you just take a ketchup or mustard packet). Verdict: I like this restaurant, but it's not enough to draw me back here or any other Filling Stations (all in authentic garages) without two changes: * When providing high quality meats, please cook burgers thick instead of thin so that they can come out actually rare for the best taste. * There were no prices in the liquor menu.
