Hubby has never been to a Cheesecake Factory so this is where he wanted to go for Father's Day. We made the 40 minute trip to the Pallisades Mall. The restaurant was crowded, but we made reservations and were seated quickly. I always love Cheesecake Factory decor. Our server was Liz and she was excellent! She was beyond friendly and attentive. I have never had brunch here, so I opted for the Fried Chicken and waffles. Hubby ordered the steak Diane with a side of grilled asparagus. Of course we were treated to the delicious basket of bread to start. I ordered the pineapple, cherry limeade. So glad I did, it was so amazing, I had 2. My chicken and waffles were delicious! The waffle was done to perfection and the chicken, while super crispy was still perfectly juicy. Hubby absolutely loved his steak Diane. He ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! I had to have a bite of his mashed potatoes- so good. He said his asparagus was done so well and the flavor was excellent. Because we were too full for dessert, we decided to bring some cheesecake home. He couldn't decide between the strawberry or peach, so I ordered him one of each. While they didn't have the tiramisu cheesecake, I did order the pineapple upside down cheesecake. They were all great choices!! I've always ordered cheesecakes to go but today decided to eat here for late lunch. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon so overall the mall was quiet. We were able to be quickly seated. The place is similar in decor as with all Cheesecake Factory with the gold and beige theme to give a little opulence feel. As Don as we sat down our waiter came over, introduced himself, and wisely took our drink. With a large menu, it took a bit time to decide but we settled on 2 lunch specials. Renee's lunch special (1/2 turkey or chicken salad sandwich, cup of soup and plate of salad) & the pizza lunch special. We waited for a fair time and food arrived. Without a doubt to Cheesecake Factory fashion the portions are large. Overall the food were tasty and love the balsamic dressing on the salad. I would recommend on the side or let them know to go light if you don't want your greens drenched. Also it was only mixed greens with sliced tomatoes. Been to this cheesecake location multiple times and for a Thursday evening it wasn't busy but service off the bat was not good. It's as if everyone was moving in extreme slow motion. Our bread came out after our meals which was a bit ridiculous. Not to mention the sourdough bread was still cold in the middle. I tried the Thai chicken salad per our servers recommendation. It was good but had way too many peanuts and dressing on it. The lettuce was swimming on the plate. Overall I'd give it 7/10 and definitely would ask for the dressing on the side in the future. The rice noodles hidden in the middle of the salad threw me off as it really did not belong. My friend ordered the Crispy Chicken Costoletta and it was crisp and delicious as always. Big menu (brunch on weekends, sandwiches, pasta, entrees), big portions, pricey for a chain I haven't been to this place in years and the prices have increased considerably: unless you get something small and basic you'll pay $17 to almost $30 for most things even lunch specials. And $4.95 for coffee. Lunch specials (before 5 pm) aren't a great a deal overall. I did enjoy the salad and soup combo which was one of their cheaper items at $13. A breakfast platter with eggs, toast, potatoes (salty), 4 sausage links was $18. Lots of different types of cheesecakes but you will pay for each slice! A chain restaurant that you will find in so many towns and states. Super spacious, loud music, lots of happy birthdays and chatter. I mean it's a chain restaurant what do you expect? Yet I keep coming back! Buffalo blast is always a hit, crispy and jammed up with flavor. Tried the special smash burger? Aw man it was cooked perfectly! The jambalaya could have been more flavorful? But nothing hot sauce couldn't fix but wish I didn't neeeeed to add it. I am always down for Cheesecake Factory, It's my favorite sit-down chain. So many options and they're sooooo good. Not too many bad choices you can make in my opinion. This time, we got a few apps to share: spinach and cheese dip, quesadilla with chicken, cheeseburger spring rolls and chicken pot stickers. My favorite, of course, is the cheeseburger spring rolls. They just have the most delicious savory flavor. I order them every single time I go. The quesadilla was STUFFED with cheese, nice and melty. The chips and dip were a nice change of texture among everything. My least favorite was the pot stickers only because they were opened and falling apart. They still have such good flavor though! And of course their bread is always amazing. My friends got the raspberry lemon drop cocktails and loved them, and I got my usual pineapple cherry limeade, always sooooo good. My only gripe with The Cheesecake Factory is how unhealthy it is and I don't love that they call their "healthy" menu "Skinnylicious", but it's just undeniable how much of a treat it is to come to this place. read more

Ahh, the Cheesecake Factory, your neighborhood "fancy" chain restaurant. The menu is over 20 pages long and traverses several types of popular cuisines with a nod to global influences (pasta, steak, seafood, Asian, Latin American, Cajun, etc), and the food is palatable, so there's bound to be something for everyone. Entrees are generously sized American portions, and you can view photos of all the food items in the online menu. And of course, the namesake cheesecake, which is indeed very good (each variety I've tried here has been mouthwateringly indulgent - banana cream is a favorite - and I don't even normally like cheesecake!), though at $10-$11 + tax for most slices it better be. This location is at the Palisades Center mall. There're normally always a wait during weekend dinner hours (though not too bad) so we like to come during slow times like Saturday lunchtime. Lines used to always be long but now that they take reservations online (for up to 6 people), it's a lot better. You'll need to sign up as a Rewards member to make reservations in advance. Service is hit or miss, but more often the latter. The bread always comes out late - sometimes after our entrees have arrived - that I forget about it. The waitstaff are nice but service is often laggy, probably because they're understaffed. During peak dinner hours there's always a wait to have your order taken or for the food to come out, and when it finally does, it's lukewarm. The food tastes good though, because it's doused in butter and salt. I've honestly liked almost everything we've ordered here. A couple of my favorites are the battered fish in the fish & chips or fish tacos which is some of the best I've ever had, with really fresh & tender fish. And chicken Riesling when it's on the menu. They switch things up now and then and add/change menu items. Just wish the service is more efficient as it can be frustrating if you come with little ones in tow who get impatient and antsy sitting through the long waits. read more

CF is one of my favorite chain restaurants. I don't live close to one so if I'm near one, I will stop to get a slice at the very least. I haven't been to this location in many years and this was my first time ordering take out. Today I ordered miso salmon to go. First off they burnt/charred the miso glaze so it was inedible. I was given old hardened bread. Think 3 day old baguette. You can't bite that. The server charged me for the full price instead of the lunch portion I ordered. I didn't realize until I got home. The food was ok but I had to add seasoning to mashed potatoes. I'm just disappointed. I hope the dine in service is better than take out I haven't eaten my slice of basque cheesecake yet. read more

Service was terrible - slow and lack of concern for the diner's well-being. I sat at a high top at a bar. It was almost 15 minutes before anyone came to serve me. The restaurant was not busy and there were very few people at the bar. Anyway I asked for a draft beer and glass of water. After another long wait I was told that there was no draft beer due to the taps not functioning. Apparently it had been broken all evening - but I was not informed when I placed my order. Another wait - still no water. Had to ask 3 times. When the bread and butter arrived the butter bowl had a brown liquid splashed over the butter, so I had to return it. My waiter was great at ignoring me to the point that I eventually had to walk the butter bowl over to him and ask for a new one. You guessed it - another long wait. I've only ever been to a Cheesecake Factory once before - it was several years ago and on the west coast. It wasn't a great experience, but it was also in a touristy area, so I decided to one day try them again in a better setting. And now was the time. I decided to try the Palisades Mall location, which has been here for several years and I've always heard good things about this one. There's two entrances - one from inside the mall and the other on the outside. You never even have to enter the mall to come here. Inside was a good general atmosphere and clean. Had choices of booth or table (chose the booth). Place is spacious and I could see it filling up during a rush. The menu was pretty varied and there was a lot of options I wanted to try, but usually I tend to stick with the reliable bacon cheeseburger when trying somewhere new for the first time - thinking that if that gets messed up, it's telling for the rest of the menu. For an app, i decided on the pretzel bites. My companion went for the salmon. The pretzel bites were great. I could've eaten a bucket of these and would be perfectly content. The 'bacon-bacon' cheeseburger was very good and well above standard and what I expected. Unsure of the seasoning and sauce, but it was real tasty. I took a bite of the salmon and that too was real good and I could've easily switched my choice to that. Overall all the food was very good. Maddux was our waiter and he was excellent. He was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous - great all around. We were too full to go for any dessert, but I won't rule it out for the future. I mean, it's called the 'Cheesecake' Factory, so I'd need to at least try a cheesecake from here one day. Sadly the overall quality of restaurants in the Palisades have dropped to the point where I no longer think of going there for a meal at any establishment, but Cheesecake Factory restored some of that faith (and cancelled out my only other experience w/ them) and it's great knowing I can come here and not regret it. Our dishes were superb this evening. This restaurant is a real port in the storm at the right time of night when too many places are closed, and the food is consistently delicious. The real highlight of the evening, though, was Tara. She is friendly, funny, warm and attentive throughout the meal and makes you feel welcome. I would come back just for her. I also asked the bartender to make change at the end of the meal and he was very accommodating and friendly. It's always a treat making this stop when visiting the Palisades, which is so true. When we visited during the weekday for lunch, we were seated within a couple of minutes and had no issues while waiting. For us, we don't make this stop on a regular basis, but with a big menu, there's so much to offer that would require a lot of visits, which I'm sure is relatable to many. It's never easy to choose what to get, but I opted for a Bacon Cheeseburger and a Macaroni and Cheese Burger on a different visit. All were very good but very filling that I couldn't even have dessert. Service was wonderful and took great care throughout the whole experience. Beware, at lunch, on the weekends, and on holidays, it will be busy, and at dinner, on Fridays, and the other two already mentioned, it will be very packed, so reservation is strongly encouraged.
