My first Nickey D's visit in over 10 years, and what a sad discovery to find the fries are no longer what they always were. Different oil? That said the Big Arch wasn't bad although I think just removing the middle bread from a Big Mac would be better. The caramel frappe was pretty good. My companion said her Big Fish was as remembered. Employees ran ragged delivering takeout orders to cars but that doesn't excuse there not being a single clean table in the place. 3.5 for the burger, drinks, fish, and poor workers, dragged down by dirty tables and not good fries. Perhaps the worst McDonalds I have ever went to, the drive through is pathetic, and the food sub-par for a McDonalds. Got sausage & egg burritos and they were smashed like they were sat on. This is one of the newer McDonald's where you push various buttons etc. doing a self-order rather than a counter order. I confess, I got confused and had to have a young attendant show me what to do. However, though I may not have the true hang of it yet, I think I like it better than standing in line just to place my order. It's probably the wave of the future though I doubt it will ever be adopted by the likes of the Waldorf's. I merely had a coke and a Big Mac. As its McDonald's I doubt I need go into critical details about the food, which though tasty, has always left me suspicious. But as a McDonald's goes, it was OK, though not "A-OK." read more

Used to be a favorite, but it's now pretty terrible. The last two times I've been missing food from the order, and the boy on the drivethru speaker actually mocked me with a condescending tone because I couldn't hear what he was saying. Like the Burger King in this immediate area this McDonald's will never serve a burger that's even lukewarm. They'd rather serve cold, hours old burgers without pretending to run it through a microwave. Before they blame staffing or some other BS if a restaurant is empty that's even more time to actually heat things up. One of the more disgusting child play areas I had ever seen. It be a better use of staff time to stop joking around near the soda machine and use a rag and clean water to clean tables, floors, and surfaces. They have touch screen games in the play area. The touch screens had old ketchup stains etc. Won't be taking kids back there to play. read more

Ok, so came here about 8:30 am on a Saturday morning for coffee and a couple hot chocolates. Not too many customers thus far. From all the construction in and outside of this particular McDonald's, I assume it was a newly constructed restaurant. I think it is McDonald's # 601,684,201,232,209,877th restaurant around the world. Very impressive! The certainly serve billions and billions and BILLIONS!!!! So, upon walking in, I was greeted by a cashier who immediately directed me to their new fangled electronic ordering device. See my pic... I was asked if I know how to use it, I said no.. Mainly because I was still a bit tired and didn't want to use much thinking so early on a Sat morning. So, I stated what I wanted and I think the cashier was still in training mode, because it took a while to order a couple coffee's and hot chocolates. You really have to have a couple things whilst using these electronic devices... 1) Patients and 2) Time. You spend more time hitting the "back" button then actually ordering what you want - at least this is what was happening during my visit, because one false option, and you "Think" you're ordering a few beverages and what you actually get is a Double Quarter Pounder with cheese, with no cheese, extra bacon, no pickles, Big Mac sauce on a English Muffin. It's complicated. Then you pay and get your ticket and wait for your yummy treats. I guess it's only a matter of time before electronic devices completely replace human's. read more

I rarely EVER leave a review anywhere, but not leaving a 5-star review for this McDonald's feels like a huge disservice. I go to this McDonald's maybe 2-3 times a month, and the service is above and beyond any other fast food location I've EVER been to. Will, one of the managers, is one of the nicest, most committed people I've ever seen. Some friends and I arrived late one day after work not realizing the restaurant was about to close, but Will invited us in and let us order and eat in the restaurant after closing time. McDonald's also had a promotional event where most locations would offer a free apple pie with mobile orders, and while every other McDonald's I've been to has stopped offering this promotion, the Willow Street one continues to give me a free apple pie EVERY time I order on the app. I was even given 3 free chocolate chip cookies once when they were out of apple pies. Most fast food places I go to almost always mess up at least one part of my order, but this McDonald's almost always gets it perfect, plus the food is always hot and fresh as well. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but it's nothing compared to what most other local fast food joints put customers through (I'm looking at you Harrisburg Pike Wendy's). Every employee is always super polite and respectful, and if I ever have a problem (when it RARELY happens) it's always fixed immediately. No fast food place is perfect, but this one comes closest in my opinion. Will deserves all the money that McDonald's can throw at him for all he's done to improve the restaurant for the better and for making every visit feel so important. A lot of people will leave a poor review after a single bad experience, but after going to this McDonald's many times over the past few years, I have yet to have a truly bad experience. In my opinion, it's worth avoiding other McDonald's and driving a little extra to make it to this one where I can trust that I'll have a good experience. read more

We ordered a quick family meal after a long 12 hour day at work. Something for the family to munch on as we all worked getting ready for the holiday. We tried to keep it simple, as the place was busy. Why make it hard on the employees with a complicated order? 20 Cheeseburgers, half without onions, and four large fries. There is a food allergy in the family and no onions on some is a necessity. What did we get? All the 'burgers' had onions. Even the cheeseburgers without a hint of cheese had onions. Even the cheeseburger WITH NO BURGER had onions. I drove the mess all the way back to the store after finding out what they had done to us. Given the reaction from the staff as the poor manager stood there speechless as I described their competence, I have to suspect their was no mistake with the order. I can't but wonder if it wasn't a case of 'lets screw with the drive through customer... what are they going to do about it?'. No refund was offered. I gave them their 'food' back, and wished the manager a happy Christmas, the poor guy. read more

I'm not a fan of McDonald's food, but with two young boys, we do have to stop here from time to time. We were staying at the DoubleTree across the street and stopped in here for a quick bite before heading out to Hershey. This is a nice McDonald's and the indoor play area was one of the nicer ones I've seen at a McDonald's in quite some time. Kids could easily climb up to the top of the structure via stairs rather than the usual series of platforms that kids have to pull themselves up onto to get to the top. Condiment station was pretty clean and orderly during our visit. As for the food, it's your typical McDonald's food, which doesn't sit overly well with my wife and I. But all in all, not a bad McDonald's. read more

So, to repeat briefly, the guy at the drive-thru is crass and disgusting, and if he drops your money or change, you're out of luck! Quality lacking as well. Won't go there again! Went inside for the 1st time expecting to order at the counter with a live person like I have always done. Instead, an employee standing next to what looked like a giant tablet said I would have to use it to order. So, I wasn't intimidated as much as surprised. Just needed a little time to read through the screens to be sure I was ordering what I wanted since I had never used it before. I found it confusing but I did NOT ASK FOR HELP. However, the employee evidently thought it was a good idea to interject, distract and rush me though the process even though there were few ppl inside. When I was in the process of reading how to pay, I thought for a second that cash was no longer an option and verbalized this out loud. Big mistake. This employee reacted as if I was deliberately trying to be a pain in her rear-end, directing me this time to the cash register and making me feel very, very sorry I ever walked in the place. There is no excuse to treat customers this way. I can't help but think if I were in my 20s that she would not have treated me the same way. The place was disgustingly dirty, anyway, and it can be assumed that what the customer sees is never as bad as what they can't see in the back where food is prepared / stored! read more

I stopped this morning to order a mocha frap, waited in line, only to be told during ordering that their machine was down. I told them a note at the entrance would have been nice because now I have to wait in a line of cars and have nothing to show for my effort. The girl at the other end just said, "have a good day" and offered no apology or any of their products for my inconvenience. I went into McDonald's and ordered my food on the touch screen. I think I ordered fries, a slushy, and 10 piece chicken nuggets. After ordering I walk up to the counter, Pay. And then proceed to sit down at my table. I wait 20 minutes and my food hasn't come. So I start to be confused because my friend that ordered after me got her meal. But I waited for another 20 minutes to get my food. Finally, I walked up and asked why did I not get my food. Then they just take my receipt and give me a refund and walk away. I was so confused because I told them I still wanted my food, but they practically ignored me. I assumed I would just get my food so I sat down for about 10 minutes. And I was over it. So I just went over to burger king and ordered the same meal. It was done in less than 10 minutes, and way cheaper. read more
