This is a combination McDonald's and Gas Station which was a first for me. The service was prompt, but the crowd left much too be desired. I ordered the Spicy McChicken which was surprisingly spicy for my taste. The thing I like most about this place was the $1 any size drink with the soda station for refills. Also, the bathrooms located in the gas station portion was surprisingly clean for a freeway rest stop. If you want a decent McDonald location with a decent bathroom while road tripping on the 5 freeway, then you'd fine this place acceptable. read more

If you find yourself in Lost Hills at breakfast time and you've decided not to eat at either Denny's or Jack in the Box, you are starting to run out of options... and it's starting to look like time to break that hiatus you've taken from the golden arches. McDonalds, as it turns out, still offers a pretty okay and predictable experience. While they mostly still sell junk food, I give them credit for putting real fresh fruit in that "fruit and yogurt parfait" and for offering apples (although they do come with caramel dipping sauce) in place of happy meal fries. The good news is that my kids, having not often been to McD's, didn't like their breakfast sandwiches. The bad news is that I ate theirs. Hey, I never said I didn't like McDonald's food, only that I had been on a hiatus. I have to round down though, since this McD's is connected to a gas station and had a disgusting bathroom (and since cleanliness is ostensibly one of their hallmarks). read more

We went to this McDonald's when heading back onto the road, it's just right off of the 5 freeway. It was real early in the morning and there was only one car in front of us. We ordered our food it took like 3 minutes for them to give a customer in front of us a coffee, so then we drive up closer to the window, she gives us an orange juice and coffee. Then the woman says "Can you park in the front of the building please?" So we do so and I look back it seems that every car that was behind us received their meal and drove out. Their bags were pretty big most likely containing a lot of breakfast meals. We only ordered four Sausage Mcmuffins that was it and a lot of the people I looked at behind us were receiving more then one bag. So it took us about 15 minutes for the lady to come out with our four mcmuffins and she said "I'm sorry for the long wait here you go" This has to be the worst McDonald's I've been to when heading North of California, it felt like turtles were making these McMuffins and took their time getting it to us. The fries were great, not super fresh (ididn't burn my fingertips off eating them) but you can tell they weren't sitting there a while either. I tried the 'spicy' McChicken; EH!! Of course why else might you find yourself in Lost Hills unless you are on your way from the SF Bay Area driving to So Cal. After a night in the skanky Motel 6 ($45 with tax!) I headed over to Mickey D's for the traditional road Egg McMuffin. As a true conisseur of these fantastic creations I feel I have the qualifications for a knowledgeable critique. My sandwich came out of the paper flat and steamy with a quarter of the round egg patty hanging out of the muffin. So first and foremost, points off for having to reassemble. Ham, egg and cheese were normal, but the muffin ruined everything!! It tasted as if both halves had been just recently been reanimated from being previously frozen and in a forgotten plastic bag lost in the walk-in. Chewy consistency with hard ends like it went about 9 seconds too long in the microwave. well it's McDonalds so you'd expect some standard level of quality. So it was a little busy, but i'd say typical for McDs. But they forgot a BUNCH of stuff for our order and we had to go back to the counter 4 times to ask for stuff like, cups, fries, toys for the happy meals, sauce for nuggets and ketchup. Worst part is, I think it was the manager packing all the stuff. He was terrible at it. There were other people complaining as well. Good thing we didn't go through the drive through. My Filet o fish tastes like it was languishing in the heater for awhile before it's number was called. The edges were dry and chewy. I came here a couple times for lunch (on my way to L.A. and on the way back). In terms of food, it's the basic McD's food but the restroom is the worst compared to all of the locations I've been to. There's only 2 stalls in the women's restroom and the line takes forever. It also doesn't help when the stalls are extremely dirty and no one ever empties the trash cans. read more

What the hell, busted drive thru?? We sat at the monitor for five minutes with no response - the screen was still on and the menu was lit up. Soo we rolled up to the first window and looked in; no one there, not even in the halls behind! Rolled up to the second window and saw ONE staff member handling one customer. She semi-hustled over to tell us the drive-thru headset was busted...umm, do they only have one? And umm, could they have at least taped up a piece of paper? Anyway, we had to go in to order. The hubby had the chicken bacon clubhouse and I had the filet o' fish and fries. Thankfully the food tasted fresh and was made to order (I don't get cheese on my fish sammy). The bun on my sandwich was super fluffy. Plus everything came out in like five minutes. As other reviewers though the fries could be cooked a bit longer, but it didn't bother me so much as I love eating the flaccid, wimpy fries. Came here on the way down to LA. It was 9AM. There was a giant cockroach in the corner where the trashcan is located and two workers were just laughing and trying to swipe it back into the trashcan area. Honestly that was pretty gross, and the fact that they have cockroaches out and not in the kitchen just made me feel all icky. I had to give a Yelp review for this McDonalds. I was driving back from Northern CA and stopped for breakfast. I ordered a Sausage McMuffin as a meal. The young woman at the register must not of heard me say "as a meal". When my brother retrieved the meal when our number was called, there was no hash browns. I told him, don't worry about it...wasn't charged for it. As we began to eat, the young girl brought over a steaming hot hash brown and apologized, I offered to pay. I know that it is insanity to expect excellence at a fast food spot. But I do expect competence. I stopped at this location on my drive to San Diego for some coffee. There was a big banner advertising some fancy carmel coffee drink, like a frappucino. When I ordered it I was told the machine was broken. So I ordered an iced mocha instead. Have never had a worse experience at a McDonalds. The service was horrible, we waited almost 25 mins in the drive thru for our 2 combo meals. A usual, some people only use yelp to complain. I didn't have the same bad experiences that many others had during their visit to this location. We took a pit stop into Lost Hills for gas/food/restroom breaks and we came here for lunch.We went through the drive through because we had a dog in the car. The time of our visit was around 2 pm and we were surprised to see no one in line. We pulled up to the order speaker and was greeted by a kind voice. At the moment we were still undecided on what we wanted and asked for more time and the cashier was very respectful. We placed our order and our meal was ready fairly quickly. Overall I had a good experience during my visit. Everyone I had an interaction was friendly and my order was correct. What more could you ask for? read more

Horrible. Every time the guy up front finished taking someone's order he would stop and talk to his co-workers. He had glasses, a blue shirt, and a hat. Slow service but when you're on the road and you need somewhere to eat on the road, it'll have to do. Waited 5 minutes for someone to help me. With no response. Assuming they were busy, we patiently waited. At 10:31, someone finally spoke to us and said, "we're closed."
