It is almost pointless to make a review on a fast food restaurant as common as McDonald's, but I must let the world know how happy I feel right after a quick meal there today. I tried the steak and eggs McMuffin for the first time, and I think it was darn good food. The gentleman was quick to take my money and give me good service, and the food was out in no time. We had a horrible confrontation with the workers at the McDonald's Motel Drive in Merced. The manager Brianna,and the maintenance trash guy, Brian, that was handling food and trash at the same time. 4 stars for a McDonald's. I was pleasantly surprised. I was traveling through Merced and had a hankering for a Big Mac. The previous few I've had at other locations were terrible. The SLOWEST drive thru I have ever been thru in my 45 revolutions around the sun. Still sitting in this drive thru 15 mins now for a 10 piece and quarter pounder. I don't know what it is about the McDonald's in Merced, 90% of the time the one on child's and the new one on campus parkway make mistakes on my orders. If they were busy I'd give them grace but not the case. This time I didn't order an oatmeal, I tell him and he says ok and simply takes it back, doesn't offer to refund because I was actually charged for it. I take my kids to school and realize they didn't give me my milks or a straw for my drink. So I have to spend 20 minutes of my time to go back for a refund. Got to this McDonald's right before closing at the same time as another car in the split lane. They took the other car's order and told me to hold on a moment. A few minutes later she starts taking my order. Halfway through my order another car pulls up next to me and they tell them they are closed. They then tell me they are closed. I tell them I have been sitting here before the time they closed and they already started taking my order. They then told me again they were closed. I told them "why did I wait and you start taking my order?" Another employee then comes to tell me they are closed, everything is turned off, and she needs cars to leave. I left. I will NEVER go to this McDonald's again. That's ridiculous, if they were closed they shouldn't have made me wait and start taking my order! They should have told me as soon as i pulled up. What can you really say about any McDonald's out there? for the most part they are all fairly dirty inside and they all are riddled with homeless people. This location is no exception, Especially at night when all the panhandlers and junkies are active. The lobby at this location is very dirty, The floors are very sticky and their restrooms look like something you would find on hoarders. read more

So I came for some nuggets. The lady at the counter was really nice. I had asked for no salt on my fries and my nuggets to he fresh where they just come up. They have it on the receipt and all. So by the time I got my drink and put it on the table they called my name. I asked if it was fresh and they told me yes so as I'm eating my food the fries were not fresh like i had asked they were barley warm and my nuggets all they did was put them back in the frier to make it seem as they were fresh. The lack of anyone in line at 6 pm, Monday night, should have been our first clue, but we had just been told our dog has inoperable cancer, thought processes are slow and numb. We stopped at McDonalds off the freeway in Merced, CA. On Motel. First to use the restroom and then to get drinks. After using the facilities we did not want to get drinks. When you walked in the hand-sanitizer was empty and there were numerous flies. Women's restroom-the toilet seat for the handicap restroom had a sticky/dusty substance on it, middle bathroom was leaking. The soap dispenser did not work properly. There was trash on the floor. In the men's restroom was not much better and no soap at the sink-a health violation. When asked to Speak to a manager 'Moriah' came up to me and I began to tell her the state of the restrooms-before I said more than 10 words she turned away from me and walked away. I approach a second manager and told him the issues. He was polite, however there were 10-15 people in the kitchen with no clue what to do. Did not get food. Will not be back. My order was given away before I even reach the window, i had to show the lady proof of my receipt...They tell me to go park in reserve #1 and they'll bring me my food, they never came. I walk in to try to get my orders filled and they help 2 other person ahead of me and ignore me. They kept ignoring me, i had to say excuse me I've been waiting over 20 minutes will anyone in here help me out or will you guys just keep ignoring me. The manager was standing right there, but she didn't even look at me either. A lady working in the back just says oh i guess i should of brought you your order, we'll remake it.. No one actually ever spoke to me, no one apologize, no estimated time, nothing. I waited another 5-8 minutes and A lady finally brings me my order, and I leave dumbfounded by the horrible experience. I like McDonald and go to it often, however, I cannot recommend this particular McDonald especially when they treat customers like the customer don't exist. There were 10+ workers at the time, and I am certain none of them would have liked to be treated the way I was today. All it would of take to change the experience was someone just to say, It was a mistake on our end and we are sorry we don't always get it right, but we are remaking your food and it'll be out shortly, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Anything to this manner would of change the whole experiences, instead the management's approach to solving problems is to just ignore mistake and problems instead of addressing them. I strongly believe a manager change would bring a better experience for customers in this location to keep them coming back. read more
