I stopped in at this McDonald's in the morning to grab a quick bite to eat while in route to a work location in NJ, knowing that I would not be able get a lunch break while on the job site. I arrived at about 8 AM and walked into the lobby. There was one clerk working, and she and what appeared to be a customer were standing at the counter having an obviously personal conversation. I stood at the counter being totally ignored for several minutes, until the clerk decided that she had to do her job and take my order. By this time I was not a happy customer, and told her to get the store manager. She went into the back and several minutes later a woman in street clothing, with no name badge, came out front and asked me what was wrong. She said she was sorry, and would talk to the clerk, and asked for my order. I told her what I wanted, and she rang up the sale and took my money. I still was upset at the treatment and told her so, and she then let it slip that the woman the clerk was talking to, while ignoring me, was another manager who was off duty. At that point I told her just to give me a my money back. It is bad enough that a clerk treats a customer with disrespect, but when I manager (on or off duty) does it, there is no way I would reward them with my business. There are other options in Middletown. I would bet that any one of them are better than this. They get one star, only because that is the lowest Yelp allows, they do not even deserve that. read more

Forget about the fact that this store is grossly mismanaged. Put aside the fact that the average drive-thru time is upwards of five minutes. And dismiss the fact that the employees are horribly rude here. The reason you must avoid this location is the fact it's unsanitary. Twice we found bugs in the food. Gross. Twice we tried to get the manager to return a call to deal with this - both unsuccessfully. Even the franchisee, Dukart, doesn't care. I would give no stars if that's even possible. Ordered a happy meal, 2 regular meals. No straws.. Really? No straws. We were in route home from vacation and picked a random place to stop. Of course almost back on the highway when we looked in the bags. I almost would have understood a screw up in the order but the no straws is completely unacceptable. This has to be the worst McDonald's in New Castle County. They never get your order correct. When you get home you find they've left the onions on the burger meant for the person who has allergies to onions (even though it was specifically stated why you want the onions held). Also, the hash browns are either too greasy or left too long in the fryer (just throw them out and start over). It can't be that hard; that's why it's called "fast food", right? read more

The service is fine but the vibes here are creepy. This location just seems to attract the absolute dregs of Middletown society. Walk around this McDonalds and you'll hear all manner of colorful conversations featuring broken families and people with martyr complexes. The televisions blast Fox News 24/7, which agitates the band of senile retired truckers who congregate in one of the corners every morning for breakfast, prompting them to harass the employees with inquiries as to their legal status and the like. Went thru drive thru. Bacon,egg,cheese on biscuit came with no egg. Turned around went inside,waited in line, asked for another sandwich. They filled 9 other orders first. Meanwhile all other food cold. No apology and made me feel like a jerk for wanting what I ordered. They definately deserve 15$ an hour. read more

Horrible customer service! Went thru the drive thru & when I asked for salt I was told I needed to ask for it when I ordered. Then I was handed a soda with no ice. When I asked for ice I was told I needed to pull up and wait! Not sure who the genius was who let the soda machine run out of ice but number one rule to running a soda station don't let the cold plate get exposed!! Uncovered cold plate equals FLAT soda!! So flat soda I had to wait for after I was chirped at for asking for condiments equals one extremely annoyed customer. read more

The overall service in the restaurant is horrible. Save one older woman who works the drive-thru and who has been there a very long time. Over the past year, the quality and quantity of food have suffered horribly. When I buy a sandwich from this location, at least 50% of the time, the bun is stale. When fries are served from this location, the container is sometimes half full or less, if that's imaginable. Stale buns, shorted of fries, and incomplete/incorrect drive thru orders at this location are not isolated incidences. Not sure where the problem lies, but it has to start with management. I'm interested in knowing if others have experienced these same issues. read more

I would give negative stars if it was possible, 1 star is being generous. I've been to this location several times and every time I have gone they forget something I have ordered. Make sure you check your order before you drive away. The staff is rude and the food looks a mess, not to mention they give you very small amounts of fries. Not worth the money. I would drive a longer distance to another McDonald's just to get better service and food. You should fire the shitty part of your staff and rebuild with employees that actually have customer service and want a job. read more
