This is a great place for a family to come together. They have a wonderful play yard for children, and a great selection of craft beers on top. I came at around 5 PM, and it was beautiful outside, but a little hot in the sun. The hostess was willing to see me in a table around the corner, where there was a nice breeze. We had a great server, who was very attentive to our needs. People enjoyed the various food offerings, including the pasta, which had a kick to it. I ordered the chicken thighs, which is a rare treat to find on a menu. My only disappointment was that they were a bit overcooked and dried out. Perhaps it was the time of day, but who knows. Other than that, I would come back and try another dish someday. read more

This is a really awesome brewery to visit, especially when the weather is favorable. They have a bar inside and lots of seating outside. We first found out about Crooked Hammock while visiting Myrtle Beach and were excited to learn there's one in Delaware, my husband's home state. So when we were back visiting, we stopped in with a couple of friends. They have a great beer selection with something for everyone. I prefer sours, so I went with Brand New Day: Pineapple Coconut, and it did not disappoint. You really get the pineapple up front, with a little coconut at the end. We started with the crab dip and pretzels. The dip was delicious, but the pretzels were a bit too heavy on the Old Bay for me. Just a little too salty. My husband ordered the smash burger, which was more like a standard double cheeseburger. Not bad, just not what he was hoping for, and he wished it were more true to the name. I had the Farm House Burger and it was definitely one of the more unique burgers I've tried. Blueberry compote, goat cheese, crispy onions, chimichurri mayo, harvest lettuce, tomato... it was a lot in a good way. I couldn't really taste the chimichurri, but everything else worked nicely. And the hammock fries were good. Our friends got the chicken nachos and raved about them. They looked really good, I wish we ordered those instead, but I already know what I'm ordering next time! Driving through the Delmarva, we stopped in for a quick lunch bite. The service was prompt, the decor cute and the food good. We had the shrimp salad and hamburger--both hit the spot. Only had water and a coke but the brews looked interesting..Also, there is a large outdoor recreation area, with a fire pit and lawn games, and also a separate kids area with swings and slides. The best thing about this place is that it's family - and pet friendly. There are plenty of tactile surfaces to explore outside. Of course, the oversized hammocks are too. Something for the kids and pups. This place is reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel/ souvenir/ Truck Stop. In a good way though. Very rustic, desert sandy type of place. The booths are great, I love high seated booths. You can see over the crowd. The 'That Burger Is My Jam' was great. Thick, juicy, tenderness, with bacon. Topped off with a smattering of Jam. Second, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which was the worst one I have ever tasted, very very greasy with large chunks of ham in it. Perfect day! Had my daughter's baby shower in the Tap Room with private bar. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was on point. The space included a an expansion onto the enclosed porch private from the restaurant. It even had its own bathroom facilities and access to the back yard. We have come here multiple times over the years. We always have a large group with people ranging from small children to older adults. We always have a great time. In the summer we take the kids outside to play. We have tried a variety of food and drinks. My husband, son and daughter liked the beer. My other daughter likes the mixed drinks. I really liked the salad with shrimp and the nacho appetizer. Our waitress was very good, friendly and organized. A manager came by and checked on us. We've been here several times and really like the casual atmosphere. Lots of menu choices and the service is usually good. Only giving it a three because the food is just OK whenever we've been there. Sometimes not much flavor or not the temperature you would expect it to be, and the last time we were there, my friend's crab dip was lukewarm. She asked if they could warm it up but the waitress said that's how it's supposed to be. A manager was walking around a few minutes later so we asked about it and he confirmed it's supposed to be hot. He agreed to take it back and warm it up. A rather large outside sitting area as well as an indoor bar and seating. This place is dog friendly, something that I struggle with at times. I don't own a pet so eating next to one is a work in progress. they have a very good assortment of different beers and alcoholic drinks. I've fallen in love with Myrtle Peach beer. . Their boneless wings are excellent, and the nachos are a must try as well. I wasn't a big fan of the meatloaf, a little too mushy for my taste. But they do give you a big portion. Don't walk, RUN to one of the cooler restaurants in Middletown (and a brewery bonus). What a great addition to the town. When visiting my parents in DE, I'm not so overly impressed with their options but I was so impressed with the CH that we ended up here 3x's in a week. Huge bonus for parents with kids...they have a playground!!! Why haven't any other breweries thought of that?? My 5 year old had a blast and I did too that he didn't have his head in an iPad the entire time we were there. FOOD! We had the nachos = amazing, other family members had wings and burgers...both great as well. DRINKS! Everyone loved their drinks. I was a little disappointed on the frozen pina colada but I'll let them have a pass. I did try the watermelon cooler beverage (alcoholic) - summer in a glass..10/10. Flights are available in case you have a hard time to decide. Their food menu is limited, compared with other microbrews. However, all dishes are flavorfully done, and comes in good portions. Pricing is comparable to others. The seating area is quite large, offering both indoor and outdoor. The large outdoor facility has playground and mini golf, which makes it family and pet friendly. Went there several weeks ago. The food is kind of creative. What there is of it. I guess they are hoping that if they have live talent you wont notice how small the portions are and how the prices for standard bar food. Tonight was my second day i a row dining at CHB, but this time it wasn't just me & Tuukka; we were joined by familywho are visiting. Aly tended to us (2 adults, 2 teens & our toddler), & she has the patience of a saint. We chose to start off with the Longboard Nachos, something I haven't ordered since I dropped 35 lbs. ~ I love the salads with steak or salmon, & have enjoyed them this past year. Unfortunately, the nachos came out with jalapeños, and we had to send them back. The 2nd tiem they came out, my sensitive-to-anything-remotely-spicy relative said she couldn't eat them either. I ended up eating the nachos as my meal. The kids had fun playing in the hammocks. Tuukka enjoyed another burger pattie, & all the attention from over a dozen kids and adults who asked to pet him. Shady business practices! Beware! This is for Richard Garrahan. We drove an hour to purchase a $100 gift card for the 2-$50 voucher deal. We were told it sold out. I have a photo of the deal. It says nowhere while supplies last, etc. Very disappointed in your lack of character to make good on your promise. How short sighted. The manager Jessica spoke to you or someone in charge and apparently you didn't care. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on Monday. I have a photo of the deal as advertised. First time stopping in here during my travels around Middletown. Already full from a lunch earlier I opted for a flight of drafts while being taken care of by Ivan, the bartender that walked me through the draft menu offering some suggestions of his favorites. I enjoyed 4 drafts; two IPA's and two lighter beers to balance it out. Displayed on a paddle shaped like Delaware was a nice feature. The location was open, vibrant and welcoming filled with laughter, smiles and good vibes as patrons enjoyed drinks and food. Taking my drinks outdoors I was able to enjoy the sun in the self seating area around the fireplace that took a break during these hot summer days. The covered umbrella tables offered shaded sanctuary to hot families with the kids slowly turning the shades of lobsters matching the decor inside. There were hammocks that I didn't get to but will next time along with yard games like cornhole in both a public area and adults only zone. Great place to be for a drink or grab a bite to eat. Friendly reminder to patrons with the heat opting to sit outside you know what you sign up for. If you end up not being able to handle the heat stay either indoors or let the staff know you are moving before you change spots. This staff member brought out a couple of dishes balanced on her arms and got to the table to see it empty. She was able to find the table but that was not necessary. We stopped here on a drive as we head up to downtown Philadelphia for an Eagles game! This place was a vibe. The beer is a vibe. The decorations are a vibe. And "Buddy's Hot Mess" special Christmas dessert is a vibe. If I'm ever on this drive again, I will absolutely return here. I think this is a fun place where people with kids can go have an afternoon beer and let their kids run around and play on the outside playground.
