The horror stories about Waffle House was not true ( based on our experience at this location). We made a pit stop on our drive up from Ocean City to NJ. It was our first time having Waffle House and this location served our needs for rest and brunch ! The restaurant was clean , the staff was nice and attentive and the food was good. We ordered the All star special, 1 pecan waffle and the Texas bacon cheesesteak melt. Everyone was filling. I didn't love the hash browns but everything else was good.

The food was on point, as was the coffee. Service was mid and the bathroom was atrocious. No more no less

Customers placed everything nice and neat for waitress. Good manners!!

I love Waffle House. This location I've been going to for years! But today's experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The biggest negative was our server. I think her name was Mandy? Idk I just know her names said "Panda" (which I doubt is her name) but I know she wore a Pink Waffle House visor with a boatload of buttons. I had to practically beg her for the only refill I got. She also was attentive to all her customers on refills but us and then she apologized for every other table she served when their food was late. But my mom's steak didn't come til the end of us eating. And no apology on that or even touching base on where the steak was. It just kinda came when it came. Then she tried to charge an extra $1 on our bill and said "oh I charged $50 for each slice of cheese on your eggs" I only got 1 slice of cheese on my eggs. They gave me one slice of cheese but my friend's eggs (she also got 2 eggs) they gave her an absurd amount of cheese (which she didn't ask). So I'm not sure what the heck was up with that. And the server was also arguing with my friend on how she wanted her waffle cooked. My friend doesn't like her pecans cooked into her waffle and the woman was trying to say "they can't do that" (which is a lie btw) and then the server saying "well I don't think they taste good like that" to be fair, no one asked her, my server had a preference on how she wanted them cooked and the server was trying to pick what was a fruitless argument. Also what is going on with the waffle makers? Aren't those supposed to be clean? Those don't look clean.

Two Sunnyside eggs, hash browns with ham, toast and Bacon.

Our food was hot and fantastic tasting, as it is every time we go to a Waffle House. I/We go to a Waffle House when we can. The food is always very good and the wait staff is always friendly and very nice.

A slice of the south with a touch of syrup, and the smell of waffle batter wafting throughout the air! You know this is gonna be good when you have syrup on the table from the previous guests along with that one waitress who's seen it all waiting to greet you. We all know what the Waffle House is all about, and if you don't then I really don't know what to say. Is it fine dining? To some yes, to others, well lets just say its that "crossing off the bucket list" experience you need to achieve. Waffle House will always be there for you after you've been out there, enjoying yourself after a few to many cocktails while trying to do your best impression of a Journey song at your local spot. Waffle House will also always be there after you've had smoke session with your friends , where you're comparing your medicinal product with your friends medicinal product. Waffles after one of those sessions is always amazing, you'll find out real quick you can polish off 5 of those bad boys and each one would be better then the first one. What is there not to love about the Waffle House, it's fast, you are in and out and right to the bathroom with in a half hour. The smell of waffles being made, orders being screamed out, as pots of coffee continue to brew , making sure to keep you going. Waffle House.. an American staple for the people , by the people. So get in there and enjoy the All Star Breakfast. This needs a hashtag #Merica

Who wouldn't want to dine at a restaurant where there's an informal metric that determines the severity of a storm and likelihood that disaster recovery efforts are needed (Waffle House Index)? It's a rather small restaurant with that classic diner feel where you can readily see the line cooks preparing your meal. We ordered the All-Star Special with blueberry waffles, hash-browns and bacon as well as a separate order of Sausage, Egg and Cheese grits bowl. The food came very fast and tasted as good as any other diner we've been to. The highlight of the meal was the blueberry waffles. If you are a coffee snob/connoisseur, I'd skip the coffee. While waiting to pay at the register, I saw a sign that said "Voted Best Coffee." I'm not sure if I had a bad pot of coffee, but it tasted severely diluted. Overall service was great! Our waitress checked in with us several times to ensure everything was good. As it's open 24/7, you can drop in anytime for a nice breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or even after a long night of drinking and partying.

Hosted a birthday bash here. I would give six stars if I could. A fight broke out in the kitchen because we ordered so many waffles. They were shouting at us because we ordered so many. It was glorious. The middle of nowhere Middletown had so much to offer. Absolute 10/10 experience, my Texas bacon egg and cheese melt was as impeccable as always. I will come back again. The kitchen is still raging as I still write this review. God bless America

My wife had never been to a Waffle House before so when I saw the sign on the highway you know I had to stop. This is good ole comfort food at its finest. The service is on the slower side so don't expect 5 star service. What surprised me is that it is not the cleanest place either but honestly who cares. It is amazing spot especially when hungover. The servers here just yell out the order and the cooks make it happen. It is incredible. Things kinda come out as they are made though so you may get your eggs before other items. The waffles came 5 minutes after the rest of the food which we didn't mind. The waffles were the best thing we had all day. I really liked the chocolate chip waffle. The eggs are made to order and the rest of the food puts the comfort in comfort food. It also will add a few hours onto your gym workout. Now one thing to keep in mind is to cancel your plans though after eating this stuff... it will go right through you. It is worth it though. I will definitely be back when I am down south. Don't think I can give more than 4 stars though.

Very shortly we were greeted, handed menus and our coffee order was taken, impressive efficiency with a full house! I've have a recent hankering for scrapple and I'm glad this is where I got it- super crispy exterior with a meaty punch of flavor inside, probably the best scrapple I've ever had. I chose the eggs Chesapeake, which is eggs Benedict on a bed of lump crab- you can't go wrong, it's delicious! Husband got the Jo Jo's breakfast burger (without the bun) and the patty was HUGE - a very filling and flavorful choice. Pro Tip: the menu says home fries but it's like a cross between mashed potatoes and diced potatoes - order them extra crispy and you'll be happy you did.

I'm glad, because with it being slightly off the 'main drag' in Middletown, we might not have seen it otherwise. We arrived towards the end of the dinner rush hour, and fortunately were seated over by where a musician was playing. It was a busy night, and we were tired and hungry from a day at the faire. As it was busy, there were sportsball games going and the musician playing, shouting was required for discussion and we had some funny misunderstandings YOUR GRAPE IS ON THE MOON? WHAT? Oh, your gravy is a little cool! :) The musician was great, playing lots of 70s and 80s hits, and he seemed to enjoy us singing along and dancing. We are, after all, rennies. We're glad he was enjoying us as much as we were enjoying his music. We got drinks and menus quickly, and our server was attentive without being pushy. After a few minutes looking over the menu, she appeared and we ordered. I got the Stampede Burger, while one of my friends got the Prime Dip sandwich (AKA French Dip), and one got chicken fingers. All came in reasonable time and were quite good, hearty food. So, why the one star off? Dessert. Could we have a brownie sundae? Out of brownies. OK, how about chocolate cake? Out of that, too. Uh...red velvet? Out. Basically everything chocolate. Sigh. Yeah, it was busy but not insane. We ended up not getting dessert, and it was disappointing. Whoever's managing food orders and prep, please do better. Also, if it's not available, it would have been great for the server to say so up front, that way she didn't have to tell us no 3 times. Parking in a private lot, plentiful. We would go again, we just will plan on dessert elsewhere.

The bar was full and most of the tables in the dining area were full. We opted to sit towards the front that has a few booths. Also, the place is a "Seat Yourself" establishment. The customer service was amazing, as both of our waitresses were the sweetest. We ordered Lemon Pepper wings, Jerk Chicken Empanadas, and Tuscan Chicken. We also had these watermelon mocktails the bartender whipped up for us that were sooooo good. Although the food took a long time to come out, it was certainly worth the wait! The wings were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Tuscan Chicken was good and well portioned also. However, the star of the show was the Jerk Chicken Empanadas! They must have marinated that chicken for at least 1-2 days because the jerk taste was so powerful. Tasted like it was made on the streets of Jamaica. The sauce that comes with it was the perfect pairing as well. The food was so good, I went back the next day with my husband so he could try. They also have DJ's on Fridays and I believe Karaoke on Thursdays. I will for sure be visiting again to try more from their menu.

We ordered the crab dip. It wasn't what I expected, but despite other reviews, it was loaded with crab. I'd give it a 2/5. We didn't eat half of it. I ordered a burger, and it came out burnt. Like, inedible, and the bacon was limp. Although there was a good amount of it. Nevertheless, I sent it all back. Fries were not freshly cut, likely frozen, and barely salted. Hubs ordered the steak and said that it was flavorless. He said it tasted like it was boiled, no salt, no pepper, nothing. I tasted his sweet potato mash and that tasted like baby food. Anyway, the manager comes out and apologizes for my meal and offers to comp me something. I say no thank you, but he insists. So, I asked for a dessert. Now, both him and the server come back to the table to let us know that the dessert order is in. We wait about 15-20 minutes. The server brings by the bill and my husband pays. Not a minute after the card is swiped, the manager comes over to say that he was just told that there is no more dessert. Interesting.
