This location has been redone inside, so it is bright & inviting. I just stopped from a road trip to get an iced coffee. I decided to make a healthy choice; apple slices instead of fries. The apple slices in the sealed bag were brown and mushy when I opened them. I'm glad I did not order them for a child and hand the package off without checking. Yuck. Managers and workers are just lazy and scare at this Macdonal's I will never go here again. I was there around 5am today and at the door it said they open at 5am to dine in but they have me waiting for 15 minutes and never open the door and i couldn't go to the drive thru because I drive a semi truck so I left because they never open the door they need to hire people the will follow the rules and actually do they job. read more

The orders are wrong about 33% of the time. The staff members do not care about customer service. They're there for an easy paycheck while doing the littlest amount of work to get by. They came out to my car and asked "is this your order?" I asked what it was, and his reply was,"I don't know." He handed me the bag and walked inside. I know it's hard to find work that isn't as pathetic as this, but if this is what they're willing to display, it makes me wonder how they treat the places we can't see. read more

Happy meal was fine, but all 3 chicken sandwiches were literally inedible pieces of roadkill, tough as leather and dark like they were re-fried. Drove through at 5:30pm, so where the hell did these pieces of meat originate from? Or when?!?! 1978? This is at least the 3rd time getting bad food from here, so hopefully Ive learned my lesson. Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a drive thru. I don't know if the employees were new and also understaffed, but it took us almost an entire hour to get food. Mind you, our order was not rocket science-- nugget meal, fries, and a McFlurry. When we finally got food, it was someone else's order. The employee who gave it to us was walking around on the phone instead of addressing the incredibly long line with the urgency it needed. Re-accepted the incorrect order and gave us the correct food, and a soda that had been sitting out since before we pulled up to the window. Did not apologize for the insanely long delay. read more

2 stars for friendly service. Unfortunately receiving the food you actually ordered and paid for isn't a priority. We ordered 2 McNugget happy meals plus an extra 6-piece. Specifically asked at the window for bbq and ranch sauces. Got home to find no sauce in any of the bags, and the extra 6-piece was missing. Also had asked for the apple slices in both happy meals rather than double fries. Instead they gave us double apple slices in each and no fries. Had two angry kids when we got home. This McDonald's has consistently sucked for over 20 years. As a resident of Mount Airy that lives only 2 miles away, I typically travel to Lisbon or New Market, 10 miles round trip for both, rather than frustrate myself with the poor service that this McDonald's regularly delivers. Always some issue with the order or ability to process the order. I take a shot every now and then that things have improved, but there is always an issue. Never at the other two locations. Go figure. Travel a couple of extra miles for a lot less aggravation. read more

This McDonalds tried to open on Christmas and it was a disaster. 30 minutes in the drive through line, soda machine broken, cold fries, missing sauces and a guy who was at least trying his best at the window but clearly not his permanent job. The manager of this location needs to be retrained, shown how to organize the crew or step down. Some McDonalds are really quick with perfect orders and others, like this one, struggle with just moving the cars through in under 20 minutes. That's on the manger. read more

I come to this McDonald's once or twice a month because my 3 and 5 year old It! But I have to say, the manager and all but one employee were so unhelpful and rude it is almost unbelievable. It was a long day of helping friends move. After starting in Elkridge, we ended up in Mount Airy pretty late in the afternoon. My son, my wife and I were all exhausted, so we wanted to get something quick. This McDonalds seemed the best choice. Can I say how wrong. Though I did eat the food, and I wasn't really bad, the place was filthy. My wife and I actually used a wipe to scrub down the table rather than let our kid eat at it as it was. In addition, we would not let him play in the play area as it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Finally, the customer service was terrible. When our food was finally up the woman working the counter never even let us know. This McDonald's location is one of the best I've been to. (Not saying I go here often) But when I feel like I want a quick burger or even a little something sweet, this place is where I'm at. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, while the place itself is very clean and approachable. The overall service and atmosphere is pretty good; last I noticed, they had some nice modern country music playing in the background and maybe even a few pop hits from the radio for all to listen. Horrible place. Tonight had the privilege of going there 2 times because they messed up the order (pretty much the standard there) but this was for 1 of my kids so had to go back. Got the right stuff this time and got home to eat and then 2 of the cheeseburgers has 6-8 inch hairs embedded in them as a special thank you for having to make 2 separate trips. I don't get grossed out easily but this almost made me puke. The burgers and fries were cold and the milk shakes initially given to me were actually chocolate milk consistency. The burgers with the hairs in them are more flat than the typical gross standard which should have been a sign not to eat them. I called for a refund and they told me I could get one but would need to drive out a 3rd time. Seriously? In their favor they did remake the chocolate shakes on my 2nd visit. There is a McDonald's in Woodbine. Would recommend avoiding the Mt Airy one at all costs. It's a shame because they are closer in Mt Airy but their quality has been very bad since Chick-Fil-A opened. read more

The only reason to review any particular McDonald's is to rate service, cleanliness, and execution of the brand's food. This location, while friendly and usually clean is not among the fastest. We stopped at 9:47pm Friday night, the store is open 24 hours, and placed our order in the drive thru. We paid at the first window and went to the second window to pick up. We were asked to pull around to the left to wait for our food. At 10:10pm my anger was out of control, my husband and son went into the restaurant with the receipt and spoke to the manager. She said she didn't know what happened and apologized and got the food together while the rest of the staff just stood around. She also gave him a gift card to use at another time. When we got home, I read the gift card and found it was ONLY for the month of June and ONLY for the Mt. Airy location and only for the free receipt of either a 6 pc mc nuggets, a mc double or medium fries!!!! Super inconvenient, and not usable as we live in Germantown. So disappointed with the customer service we received and the fact that they FORGOT about us, was horrible. read more
