The food was whatever but the service was actually terrible. When we first pulled up they made us wait 5 minutes to order and the people behind us in the drive through were already mad at us. After they came back when we ordered we asked them to repeat what they said (because we couldnt hear) and they screamed into the mic. then they tried to tell us that we can't redo the order. we pulled up to the window and got our food but we forgot a cheeseburger so we went inside. after we ordered in the big screen thing it wouldn't print our reciept so we pressed the help button and nonw if it worked. i would not come here again. i also have video proof of all this happening. read more

Ok 1 Star McDonald's on Rivers you got me good today! So I didn't pack a lunch and was starving so I headed out from my office. I thought to myself, self Mickie D fries sound delicious right now so I saw an opening in traffic and pulled into the McDonald's. My 2 stars is to their marketing department for introducing the $6 meal deal and to the nice lady on the mic at the drive thru. I normally just order a sandwich and fries bc I don't drink a lot of sodie pop. But there it is on the sign, $6 for a sandwich, fries, drink and a pie. A pie?! I would never think of ordering a pie. But I do now! So there I go getting a $6 combo. If you look at the picture I shared, the thrill of my lunch came to screeching halt. Fries burnt. 2 baby pickle slices and not even a squirt of mustard on my burger. Terrible! And the soda that I really would only have taken a couple sips of, had maybe three ice cubes floating in it. I don't know, a lot of people give this McDonald's low ratings, but I've found it to be the most reliable in hours, service, and quality. Every time I come here, the lobby is open, which can't be said for other locations. The lobby is usually clean and the service had been consistently friendly. I've never had bad food at this McDonald's. It's always been fresh and correct. The only reason I took a star away is because there's always some random people in the lobby asking for some money. Absolutely disgusting experience. From the interrogation from the super nosey cashier ( stunt double for the Hamburglar) harassing me about the details of my personal life to my RAW pico burger. It was just a disturbing,intrusive, offensive and creepy experience for me. After I paid for my meal, my granddaughter wanted to sit in the play area, we got our drinks, trekked across the sticky floor, and proceeded to the play area. We sat down and here was the nosey cashier sweeping. We began to eat our food when I noticed my burger didn't taste like the burger I had a few days prior in Summerville. While the chick kept rattling!! Asking ME about my grandchildren, my car, perfume, my hair STYLE was my hair real or synthetic, my shoes, where did I buy them, how much did they cost, my makeup, etc. Whacko! I dissected my burger and found the funny taste was a result of a raw meat Patty. I showed it to the chatterbox and she kept rattling about she didn't know the kitchen was going to do that. It wasn't her fault, etc.. I took a picture of my RAW Beef Patty, collected my granddaughter and before an illness could set in, I drove back to Goose Creek. Went through drive thru during lunch, only one car ahead of me, was really surprised noon else there. Very few cars in the parking.lot as well. Service was super fast, order was correct, staff was friendly but food was gross. Cold limp fries, cold burgers, cheese was not melted, bun was smashed together, more than disappointed. All you really need to know: Go Somewhere Else!! This was by far the worst McDs experience I've ever had or even heard of. I don't generally take the time to rate fast food restaurants, because they're pretty much all the same. But this one was so bad I'm making time. If I could give negative stars on Yelp I would. At 4:19pm yesterday I ordered four chicken strips, medium fries and a large drink. Got the drink cup immediately so no issue there. At 5:12pm (that's right 53 minutes later) I got the strips and fries. And they weren't even very busy when I arrived; about three orders ahead of mine. Plus I could see six employees in the back preparing food, so it wasn't a "we're short on staff" issue. Are you kidding me! After 30 minutes went back to the counter to ask. The manager told them she needed four chicken strips and they acted like that was a news flash. About 15 minutes later I went back to the counter, again, and she asked the crew about those strips. Again they acted like it's the fist time they've heard of this. I complained to her that this was ridiculous and she said "the strips are cooked when ordered". I said "it doesn't take 50 minutes to cook chicken strips at a McDonald's". At least she refunded my money. She then told her cooks to give me six strips instead of the four I had ordered. After 53 minutes I finally got the strips and fries. But of course they only gave me four, not the six she told them. It's probably for the best since they weren't that good anyway. I also saw several other customers waiting long times for their food and having to complain to get it. None as long as me, but some up to 30 minutes. Several had to remind them of what they ordered. Also saw two people have to bring their cheeseburgers back because there were no cheese on them. One lady had to twice. Twice! She brought her quarter pounder back saying it didn't have cheese, they gave her another one, and she came back a couple minutes later saying. It still didn't. Come on, really!?! This location has also gone to having two kiosks in the waiting area so you can place your order and pay yourself. I saw several people go to the front register only to have the girl standing there tell them they had to order via the kiosks. Wow that's terrible customer service....she was literally just standing behind the register. But then other people walked up and she took their orders. Just wow! Moral of the story, I should've checked Yelp before stopping here since the prior reviews said it all....worst customer service possible. I'll never return to this location. And frankly, McDonald's corporate should shut this one down because it's bringing their reputation way down. read more

Unfortunately, one star is the lowest I can go for this review. We stopped in to eat-n-play (as my grandkids say) Tuesday jan 2nd, 2017 at 2:45 pm and it was completely dead. We ordered and tried to find a table. Besides us, there were only 2 other groups in the restaurant, but almost every table - including the play area - was a mess. This was the first Golden Nugget we were exposed to. We usually sit in the play area when we've got the kids, but this play area smelled like piss so bad we couldn't stand it. We also weren't sure if they were going to come across piss puddles somewhere in the tubes so we didn't let them play and found a semi-clean table in the main lobby. This was Golden Nugget number 2. Our food FINALLY came up - we only had a double cheeseburger and a 10pc chicken-lips- and-assholes-formed-into-nugget-shaped-pieces-meal and it took forever. We dumped out our fries and started eating them and realized they were extremely greasy and really funky tasting. Nugget 3. We took them up and asked for some better tasting ones and this manager with stupid-looking pink hair got a pussy attitude, took the Nugget sauce on the tray, flinged it on the counter, and put "new" fries on the old greasy tray. Nugget 4. The "new" fries only tasted marginally better than the old. They need to change the oil or change the temperature or something. They were really bad. Nugget 5. I stopped by for breakfast, at 6-6:10am no response in the drive through. When someone finally spoke to me I was told it would be "another 10 minutes before they were ready". I told them no problem and continued to wait. A few minutes later they told me the same thing, I replied I would wait. A few minutes after that they told me to get off the bell (which I wasn't familiar with) and to go park in the parking lot till they were ready (which I suppose I'm supposed to magically know) All I ask is some communication. If I could give zero stars I would. First experience at this McDonald's and all I came for was an iced coffee. I asked for a French vanilla iced coffee, with extra cream and sugar and my order was black coffee over ice. When I asked the cashier she didn't say a word, she goes back and grabs sugar packs for me. As I stare at her.. I asked her "I had a French vanilla with iced coffee, though? I don't need sugar" and she goes and hands me creamer, LOL. I tried to be nice and add the fixings and it tasted even worse. Of course, I went back to complain, and stood there for 10 minutes and no one and I mean no one acknowledged my existence. I'm not someone who likes to make a scene, so I left. And, for some strange reason, call it temporary insanity or masochistic tendencies, I went not only once, but twice while in Charleston... maybe the iced tea on the first visit had more than just iced tea in it :-) Anyway, on both visits, you can only see 1 or 2 in the back, 1 doing the drive thru and 1 handling the dining orders. I'm sure there were more somewhere but apparently on their break, I guess. On the first visit, the lady running the register and filling coffee must have spilled some on her hand. Now, I know the coffee is hot, but you'd think, from one's own experience, a quick wipe of the hand and blow on it a few seconds, the pain would subside quite a bit and you move on, right? Well, not this lady... for the next 10 mins, and about 4 more people lining up behind me, she's doing this dramatic blowing on her hand and looking around for some lotion she smeared on it, and then taking orders and giving change one handed (I considered calling an ambulance just for added dramatic effect). Of course, there's no one else available (on their breaks, remember? :-) ) to even come up and take over. On the 2nd day, another lady decided it was more important to fill the drive thru orders and dump in some hash browns in the fryer than to wait on 5 customers in the dining area. Thankfully she wasn't filling coffee cups! Open 24 hours? That's a lie. They apparently decided that they can create their own hours and close whenever they want. Multiple times I have stopped after work only to find out that they are not open. Tonight was the last time. I stopped there just before 11pm and sure enough closed again. This McDonalds is run by JKS&K and I believe that neither they, nor the local management of the store care about the customers. I have been in at least five times in the past two months. The POS machine was down every time and you have to pay cash. I always get the same breakfast that costs $6.58 before tax. Because they hand figure, I have been charged $6.40, $6.50, $7.08, $8.07 and today she charged $8.19. When I pointed out the board she immediately went to the till and gave me $2.42 back. You get no receipt and the employees are so dis-organized that you may or may not get what you ordered. I have called JKS&K several times, but they have done nothing. Do not go to this McDonalds. As much as I am a glutton for punishment because I love one McDonalds breakfast, I will not return. read more
