Whenever we visit my brother in Park Circle, we always make a stop at Odd Duck Market. During our last visit, we went for breakfast all 3 days we were there. The breakfast sandwiches on bagels are so delicious - the egg is done just right and the aioli makes the sandwich. We also enjoy the pastries and yogurt parfaits. There has always been a line when I go around 9am, but service is still friendly and the food come out pretty quickly. During the times I made it earlier in the morning, there was less of a line (or no line). Dog friendly on the front and back patios. Lots of wine and local products for sale. I wish I had an Odd Duck Market near me, but I'll just have to make do with visiting when I'm in the North Charleston area! read more

This is one of my go-to weekend breakfasts! I always get the sausage egg bagel and add arugula. I love the texture of the egg - it's like Starbucks egg bites. The aioli on this sandwich is delicious too! I've had several coffees and they're all good! The staff are always welcoming and take your order in a timely fashion. They also bring it to your table. Odd Duck Market is clearly a local favorite. When I arrived the line was pretty long, but it seemed to move quickly. I ended up ordering online instead, which was super convenient and made pickup easy. There's some seating inside but they have both a front and back patio, which would be perfect on a nice day. It doubles as a grocery market so it's fun to look at all the unique items while in line - makes it easy to pick things up to enjoy later too! I ordered the chicken salad on ciabatta and it was excellent--really flavorful, fresh, and refreshing without being heavy. One thing I appreciated is that their sandwiches are customizable; you can get them on sourdough, a croissant, or even as a wrap depending on what you're in the mood for. Love the Odd Duck Market! The Park Circle location is so popular it's always packed. Hence their success in opening a Summerville location and coming soon downtown location. The most recent time I was there, I ordered a breakfast and lunch sandwich. Plus got a sweet merch hat! The egg and cheese bagel was very basic, but the turkey sandwich was a crowd favorite! I cut both sandwiches into 4ths and shared them with friends. The goat cheese crema and roasted tomato spread elevates the turkey sammie to the next level!! So yummy. Kicked off our day with these surprisingly amazing brunch sandwiches. We were so obsessed that we made sure to come back again before leaving the state. (That's how you know it's good.) The place is packed with cute, quirky decor that's fun to look at while eating. I loved it so much that I couldn't leave without buying a duck-themed mug (zero regrets.) The Prosciutto Breakfast Sandwich is a total flavor bomb, with the yummiest chili mayo layered onto fresh, perfectly toasty focaccia. This place occupies a stretch of restaurants. It has a market element with a small selection of niche regional brands, some of which are well worth perusing. I came for lunch, and left with a takeout haul including a full-flavored chat, a large salad with diverse ingredients and a tempeh bagel sandwich. The sandwich was not large for the money, but tempeh is filling stuff and the flavors, including avocado and vegan garlic mayonnaise, combined well. My salad delivered a colorful accompaniment. I had a couple of hours to burn today before picking up my son, so I took a drive to Park Circle to find a good place to hang out. I wasn't in the mood for beer this time, so I went into the Odd Duck Market since I enjoyed their coffee during my last visit. I ordered a large mocha latte and a buffalo chicken wrap. I was worried there wouldn't be any seats available, but there were a good handful of open spots for me to sit at (indoor & outdoor). As customer #9, the Nesting Duck (according to the card), my food and drink were brought to me. First came the coffee and a few minutes later, the wrap. Cute restaurant in Park Circle- we went for breakfast but I think they are open for happy hour in the evening. Their menu says they do breakfast and lunch all day. We ended up getting a caramel latte and a pumpkin spice cold brew with toasted marshmallow cold foam- I liked my cold brew drink- and it was aesthetically pleasing. I got the Sammie of the day "Honey Mustard Chicken Melt". It's usually served on ciabatta but they had run out and I got it on focaccia and it was delicious! I loved it! (Kind of happy they ran out of ciabatta). My friend got the breakfast wrap and said she enjoyed it. They have both inside and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food and drinks out to you- unless you are carrying out. Slightly pricey for breakfast but I think in line with area prices! read more

This is a great cafe/boutique grocery store in the North Charleston area. My friends and I liked it so much, we came here twice! I ordered an iced chai latte after first asking whether the matcha was pre-sweetened. When the barista told me it was, I chose the chai instead. Unfortunately, when I got to my table and took my first sip, it was so overwhelmingly sweet that I knew I couldn't drink it without feeling sick. When our food arrived, I politely asked if I could exchange it for a black iced coffee. I wasn't asking for an extra drink--I simply wanted something I could actually drink. The barista looked visibly irritated and asked, "Do you mind me charging you?" When I explained again that I couldn't drink the chai, she replied, "So you'd like a FREE coffee, then?" That interaction was disappointing enough that I asked whether she was the manager. She wasn't, so I asked for her name. Within a couple of minutes, the manager came to our table. He apologized and acknowledged that the employee's response was inappropriate. I appreciated that. But then he asked, "What would you like for the trouble?" To me, that's where the culture behind the interaction became clear. The issue was never that I wanted something for free. I wanted to exchange a drink that was undrinkable for me, and I wanted to be treated with basic courtesy while doing so. Asking what I wanted "for the trouble" suggested that the real problem was a customer trying to get something, rather than an employee who had handled a perfectly reasonable request poorly. As someone who owns a small business, I see these situations differently. Customer service isn't about calculating the cost of replacing a drink; it's about recognizing opportunities to build trust. Situations like this are exactly why many successful businesses empower employees to make simple exchanges without making customers feel guilty for asking. As the name implies, inside has a market which included beer and wine. You step up to the counter and order your meal and they'll deliver to you if eating on premise. We sat in the back and split a hot Italian sandwich on focaccia bread which was very tasty. I also had a mimosa which was perfect for the moment. What a fun shop/cafe/grocer in Park Circle! It is a jack of all trades! I absolutely loved my chai. My husband had the blueberry danish and I had the cookie sandwich. Odd duck market has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Park Circle. I probably stop by every other week! I'm a big fan of their chicken salad sandwich on focaccia--the chicken salad is delicious, and the bread is thick, fluffy, and perfect. Highly recommend ordering it on the focaccia! I've tried their coffee a few times, and it's good, but the sandwiches are the real highlight. I also got a bagel once, which I believe they get from Ruby's, and it was amazing! I love bringing friends here when they visit because it's a charming little market with wonderful customer service. The atmosphere is bright, inviting, and ideal for getting some work done. I highly recommend going to a little bit earlier on weekends. It gets very busy. They usually have a line out the door but if you go earlier, I'll be okay and also parking just gets hectic in Park Circle so just be prepared to try to find a spot for a little bit , but definitely worth the wait. read more
