*if you don't read the rest of this review, please note this: go here & get coffee. It's delicious!* My first experience here was about an hour before they closed on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only customers at the time, which I appreciated because it gave us time to review the menu & chat with the gentleman behind the counter without worrying about feeling rushed, etc. The spot is cute, with plenty of parking, seating inside and out, and it gives off a nice, cozy vintage vibe. He gave us time to look at the signature drinks, offered information, let us ask questions, etc. He was very nice! I landed on the Biscoff Bliss and as a fun tidbit - they offer Small, Medium, and Large, but they also have a "bucket" size - which we found intriguing & of course went for the bucket! It's essentially one of those "to-go" soup containers and they make a hole in the lid to fit a large boba tea sized straw. It also had like 5 shots of espresso in it and even at 3pm, I'm down for! That was literally the best coffee I have tried in a long time. It was delicious and there was so much of it that I got to enjoy it for the rest of the afternoon! As a side note, the 2nd time I went, I ordered the same thing & another barista made it. It was good, but not as good as the first one I had. The prices are great and I love supporting a small business over a chain. So you should definitely pay a visit to The Bean Counter! read more

Wonderful coffee shop experience. Tucked off the main road this hidden gem is my favorite coffee shop in recent memory. The baristas were so nice and knowledgeable. Make sure you don't skip out on the pastries, I got a cinnamon chip muffin with my caramel latte and loved this spot, definitely recommend!!! read more

Cute! Sells a lot of interesting coffee flavoring. I got the Flower girl Latte which was flavored with blackberry and Lavender. My friend got the Churro cold brew. Both were great tasting. Stopped in on our way out of Charleston and very glad we did! Service was very friendly. There's plenty of parking. Sooooo many flavors to choose from and you could really taste them. It was so good my sister got a second drink to go! They also have a wine bar in the back. read more

We LOVE the bean counter. Can't say enough good things about the staff and service-- this is a relaxed neighborhood joint where the owner is often behind the bar and there's always a local pup ready to greet you when you walk in. And the coffee is good-- they have drip, espresso, alt milks, and lot's of specialty inventions like the 'Pluff Mud' matcha. The iced matcha is so yummy and also they don't burn the almond milk in cappuccinos, which I know is tricky. The decor is definitely funky. It's a small cinderblock building in a sort of industrial area near the downtown Hanahan. There are vintage booths and bar seating up at the front, and they showcase local artwork. Also a very cute and updated meeting room or bar/wine tasting area in the back? Maybe they have future plans for that space. Also parking is plentiful and super easy. read more

Had a lovely almond croissant, their Samoa nitro which was a lovely treat, and the interior is super cute and cozy. Not to mention their very attentive wait staff! I felt taken care of and right at home. 10/10 read more

The decor is fine, it feels more cramped than cozy. The black drip coffee is the worst I have ever had in my life, worse than any gas station, worse than any other coffee shop, worse than any hotel coffee. The coffee tasted like burnt plastic and black pepper. The service was not great and the staff were weird. They spilled our cappuccino and didn't bring any napkins, nor did they have any napkins out for customers. Would not recommend. read more

Everything I have had here has been A+. The drinks taste so good, the staff is wonderful and so funny and the space is perfect. I met with my Girl Scout co-leader here when we had planning to take care of and it was a nice experience. It wasn't loud, smelled great, free Wi-Fi and had plenty of space for us to be out of the way. read more

Nice little local coffee shop! There's some fun decor inside, and lots of seating for those who want to get some work done, and a few tables outside as well. I had a toffee latte and a cinnamon roll. Cinnamon roll was fine, a bit sweet for my tastes, but that's just my personal preference. The coffee was spot on, lots of creamy foam, and a good flavor without being too sweet. Coffee itself was smooth and mild. The service was fast and friendly. They also serve wine and beer, which may be a draw for some. There's also a few soaps and other locally made items as well for sale. Would definitely stop in if in the area again. This was a great find for seriously good coffee in a place where good coffee shops are few and far between. Close enough to veer off the freeway enroute to or from the Charleston airport. Don't get discouraged if you miss the turn off the main road (street sign hard to find), it's just a half block off the main drag. The owner and top barista, Gable. Is friendly, engaging and most importantly knows his coffee! Had probably the best cup of coffee since we arrived in Charleston five days ago. This place is amazing, coffee is phenomenal, I personally love the caramel iced latte with oat, the vibes are great and the service is just impeccable! I'm so happy we have a café nearby! And they're selling frosé now too which I have yet to try but I'm excited to keep coming back.
