Look I've already rated this place 5 stars, but I want to update that it's above and beyond that. The staff is so friendly it's wild. They have great food and their baked goods are awesome! Some outdoor seating for a bit of peace, a countertop if you want to be in the magic being made, and tables to get some work done or catch up with friends and colleagues. I've heard business meeting, meetups, dates, podcasts and book club discussions. Love the place! The use of coffee bags as decorations and other rustic decor makes me happy. decided to visit this coffee shop recently--it had been quite a while since my last visit. I was in the mood for something different from my usual Starbucks run or making coffee at home. I really wanted a place that roasts their own beans, and of course, I couldn't resist getting a scone while I was there. While I was visiting, a mother and her young daughter (probably around seven or eight) came in, and the daughter was so curious about how the coffee was made. It was really nice to see the staff take the time to walk them through everything--explaining the photos on the wall, the different types of beans, how they're grown, and where they source them from. It created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Experiences like that really stand out, and it's clear they care about both their craft and their customers. Super cute coffee place. I met a friend here for breakfast I had no idea they had breakfast sandwiches, and homemade pastires, muffins, pop tarts cake pops etc. I also tried their new coffee called the Chagaccino and it was delicious! Not sure it had enough caffeine to what I'm used to but it was yummy! We will definitely come back to try other things. I feel super lucky to have Charleston Coffee Exchange in my backyard! The staff are always super welcoming and friendly. I love coming here to buy fresh roasted whole beans for my espresso machine at home and the staff are always so knowledgeable with recommendations for what beans to use. Their lattes and coffee selection are also fairly priced. The pastry selection varies but have yet to buy a pastry I didn't enjoy. My regular. Staff is awesome and friendly, and I love their seasonals. The coffee is genuine in flavor and taste, everything enjoyable from their selection of brews, chais, and signature honey latte. Charleston Coffee Exchange was great! I went there on a Sunday around 11 a.m. it was crowded and there was a line, but it was worth it! The line moved pretty quickly. I ordered a medium iced caramel macchiato and it was delicious!!! I wish I had gotten a large. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. I paid cash and received a cash discount, which was cool! There was plenty of seating, and loved the decor. I received my drink and food pretty quickly given the amount of people in there. I like to find local roasters wherever I go, so when visiting Charleston recently, my friend had done some research and decided to take me here! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect walking in. It was a full coffee shop and a large retail too, which was pretty cool. The retail display was very fun and incredibly interactive. There were large sacks of coffee beans you could see/smell and a friendly staff member sharing his knowledge of them with you while packing fresh bags for orders. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many single origins on offer. They had reasonably good information about the farms, processing and tasting notes, which made it easier to decide, and we chose a fun naturally processed blend that brewed up quite nicely! I really liked how it carried that signature sweetness and flavor profile only found in well produced natural coffees. This one definitely delivered and kept me happy with my coffee for our entire visit. That said, I did find gaps and inconsistencies in signage and description that made it hard to know exactly what was what. One of the big things I look for when buying coffee is the roast date, and I found some of the coffee here to be in the acceptable range, but a lot that wasn't or that they weren't sure about. The barista cleared up some of my other questions but I felt the product knowledge was a bit less than I look for, and that's ultimately why I landed on four stars. I heard they were opening the roastery to consumers soon, which is always a great experience for anyone interested in coffee. That's usually where you can learn the most about a roaster and find the best they produce, so this is going to be a fantastic. I'm excited to visit again and I'd happily recommend this spot to anyone! read more

This is a regular coffee place for me! The vibe is really chill and the coffee is great. I really like the honey latte iced or hot! Another good find here is the cheddar bacon biscuit! They only have it a few days a week but it's so yummy and you can ask to have a sandwich on the biscuit instead of a bagel or something. I drove out to CCE to buy a couple bags of coffee beans as a gift. I had initially looked online and when I saw that shipping was $15, I decided to make the drive over to the store instead. I live in Goose Creek, so it was quite a haul to get there but I planned other shopping around it (Costco, etc.) so it wasn't a total waste of time. I tried to plan to arrive at what is normally a slower time for a coffee shop, but the line was still almost to the door. I couldn't get the attention of the associate who was filling an order for the woman in front of me, so I waited in line for a solid 15 minutes before it was my turn at the counter. When I asked for two bags of the decaf beans, I was told they don't offer the decaf flavored beans in the store. I was surprised to hear this as the website encourages people to go into the store and didn't notate that not all flavors are available, but I bought myself a consolation cup of tea and headed back out. I wish the website at least gave the option to pick up orders in the store, as $15 for shipping is significantly more than I wanted to spend. I was purchasing other gifts for this person, so I either had to ship it to myself and then send a box to the recipient, or ship this to the recipient and still pay for shipping another box of the rest of their gifts. read more
