This is a recently remodeled McDonald's with a nice looking interior. The parking area can be a pain when the drive thru is busy because it can block in some of the parking spots. They are pretty fast when preparing your food so you rarely find yourself having to wait too long. I went there today only for the donut sticks and they were delicious. This is by far one of the best McDonald's I've ever been to ever! I've traveled a lot and eaten at several different McDonald's but this is honestly a really good place to stop and munch. It's a town away from the Mohegan/Foxwoods outlets. The people here are unbelievably nice. Big smiles, friendly demeanor, and great conversationalists. And the place is so clean and inviting. The furniture is comfortable and colorful (green chairs, pastel orange booths). AND each table has a case with flowers! As for the food, everything was so fresh! My sister ordered a 10 piece nuggets and my word the nuggets were so hot and crispy. So delicious! Plus the fries were wonderfully salted. I wasn't too hungry and ordered a kids meal and let me just say the cheeseburger and small (and rather adorable) fries were also fresh. Again, so good! read more

Mgr. Dave is very unprofessional to the point where he called me an a-hole and possibly followed by the N-word. All this because I refused to pull forward in the drive-thru to those reserve spaces to wait for the rest of my order. I parked, went in, and confronted him about what he said. He instantly called the Norwich PD. Who then came to my home over the incident and arrested me for breach of peace. Keep in mind that I never got physical or threatened him. I was simply standing up for myself. And they take way too long to even bring your food out once you park. Whatever happened to the term "Fast Food?" Recently they had a remodel. With the remodel came lots of GREAT changes! Drive thru, which has been reconfigured now has two lanes to order food, which eliminates a long line of cars in a previously awkward designed parking lot. If you choose to eat inside you can order and pay at a kiosk. Super easy! Customize your order just the way you want it! Then an employee will deliver your made to order food right to your table! They'll even get your drink. I've eaten inside a couple of occasions and the service is top notch, they even came to make sure everything is ok! And the food.... is consistently good & hot! Wow was this place bad. I mean, McDonald's are always bad but this takes the cake. Ordered two iced coffees with our meals, and neither one had ice! Besides that, our fries and sandwiches came out cold. We had everything replaced, and that round was fairly warm and edible. Currently 19 weeks pregnant and i have to have a medium fry and a strawberry banana smoothie with whip cream every night after work. Theyre getting better with their fries always being hot and fresh . I just dont like that the icecream machines are "always down" at night . Worst managed McDonald's around. Drive-through service is the worst. Staff is clueless and unresponsive to complaints. Last visit they gave our order to the wrong person through the window, we had to pull ahead and wait for them to correct their mistake, no apology and it was middle of lunch rush. This morning, during breakfast crunch, we ran through drive through and again were routed to the wait lane. Employees all seem to be wandering about aimlessly inside or looking flustered. If your fast food establishment can not handle the high demand hours of breakfast or lunch - then you should clearly do something to better manage your team. There is a reason why people use the drive through and its not be be constantly told to "pull forward and wait". Ridiculous. We will not use this local McDonald's again. I would give no stars if I could but that is not an option. We went there and ordered to quarter pounders. When we got home and opened the boxes the bottom buns on the burgers were as hard as bricks and the cheese was also very hard. We called the restaurant to make them aware and to see if we could return tomorrow for a refund or just fresh food. She said we had to return immediately which was not a possibility. We asked for her (the managers) name which she refused but asked for ours. She then proceeded to hang up on us. I get we were not looking for a 5 star meal but we were looking for burgers that had not been sitting out all day and inedible. Awful customer service. Very updated and extremely clean establishment! Bathrooms also get a 5 star rating. Food was hot and delicious, And the fries were cooked in clean oil....always a huge plus. To top it all off, both the staff AND the customers seemed to be in happy and upbeat moods! read more

The old lady (Ginger, Red hair) working the front window was extremely rude, and ignorant. She shouldn't be working there if she's going to be so rude. She told me I was in the wrong and gave off a really bad vibe saying my coupon was outdated then took the coupon and didn't give it back. I used to live here till I moved in August , I wouldn't recommend this dining facility at all , I used to come here every night while my wife and I were still dating at the time and get simple menu items as sweet teas and a medium French fry , normally one bad experience I wouldn't write a yelp review but after many and many times of going here with using the same order around the same time everyday and they still mess up the order , sweet tea being unsweet , French Fries being overcooked and stayed in the warmer too long , chicken sandwiches would come overcooked and when I asked politely and even waited till there wasn't any traffic going through the drive through and just respectfully requesting to get another tea cause of the tea being unsweet and even with proof of purchase and they refused me and my pregnant fiancé that we would have to buy another if we wanted one I highly don't recommend this McDonald's but instead the recommend the McDonald's in gales ferry read more

My husband and i live near this Mcdonalds & have no vehicle. So that's the only reason we tolerate these morons. Some workers are really nice, but just about every time we get our food from here the order is wrong, there is something missing from our order, the fries are too salty or we are over charged. I have been to this McDonald's several times over the years. Most recently I was told Rachel the owner was not allowing competitor coupons anymore. That was a disappointment. The last couple times I have been here for the most part the employee's in the morning are nice except for the woman with the red hair that takes your money in the first window. She has given me attitudes about using coupons. One time I wanted them to add an item and she raised her finger at me. It should have been "One second. I will be right with you." The other issue is the drinks are never completely full. I have to ask them to fill the drinks or I will get a drink that is only filled 3/4 of the way. Sometimes when the employees get lazy they will just add extra ice after being asked to fill it more with soda. My son's sweet tea has been absolutely terrible the past 4-5 times. My son doesn't want to drink tea that tastes like coffee or is watered down. The other issue I have had at this location is recently we ordered a big Mac but it did not come with the Big Mac sauce and no lettuce. Really? About 5-6 months ago a male employee got pissed off because I asked him to fill the drinks and when he handed my cousin our drinks he shoved the drinks at him so hard that the drinks spilled inside his car and onto his clothes. I went inside to make a complaint and the manager said she wasn't responsible for what her employees do. Seriously!!!!! You are the manager handle your employees. read more

After a long night of weddings and then performances by my famous boyfriend, we needed a late night meal after driving across the state. We pulled into this 24hr mcdonalds and were greeted over the intercom by the voice of an angel, Red. Her recommendation and upsell for the holidays pies couldn't have been better as they tasted like cream filled Christmas dreams. She was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and helped us out tremendously with making our late night dinner decision. Before we even reached the window to meet face to face with this magical mcdonalds mermaid, we turned to each other and said "this woman is the best." When we pulled up the food came out incredibly fast and she accommodated all of our condiment needs. We asked for her name and praised her for her patience, kindness and professionalism. We will definitely be back and hope that when we pull up to the intercom, it will be the angelic voice of Red to fulfill all our Christmas wishes. read more
