When I was young my mother would take me out for ten cent hamburgers on sunday after church. When I had children of my own I relocated to another city for a job. Feeling nostalgic I took my kids to the same Mcdonalds for hamburgers. I stood in line. When my turn came to order the counter person kept taking orders from the people behind me as though I did not exist. Mind you I grew up in Oakland and I did't care that I was the only white person there but here was racism rearing it's ugly head up at me at Mcdonalds. Now I am 63 and this happened about 30 years ago but I never forgot it and I tell people about this from time to time. Bigotry is bad no matter who it is aimed at. I was born in Highland hospital. Graduated from Fremont High in 1969. I won't rate that Mcdonalds good or bad because In all honesty I know those people have all moved on years ago. I just hope that the crew that is there now is not bigoted. Looks like I'm expected to rate so I must rate low even though it may not be fair at this time. read more
