I ordered a large regular coffee from the girl behind the counter and it was pretty good. The only thing I did not like was the cost of my add on which was half and half. The place is spectacular and has ample seating to enjoy your brew.

This is where we choose to sit and it's by far the best seat in the house. The tall purple chairs were comfortable and had loads of personality and they had playing cards, dominoes, uno, Jenga, a mini puzzle, and a Rubik cube form your enjoyment. The light dwindles the farther into the establishment you go with it being darker and cozier closer to the cash register. What we got: Orange juice - 3* I don't know why I'm always surprised when smaller boutique-like establishments don't do fresh squeezed orange juice but I am. Despite knowing this my partner still wanted the Simply Orange Juice that the serve. I'm more practically minded and would've rather purchased our own bottle at the grocery store for a similar price but alas, compromises for those you love Stuffed waffle with fresh fruit - 4* we could choose from strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry so we chose a medley of them all. The waffle was good and I liked the fresh raspberries and blueberries on top. The fruit inside was all baked in. The syrup on the side Bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel - 4* classic savory bagel Danish - 3* nothing special. You'd find this Danish at any old store.

Abingdon is a little town with a lot of fast food outlets and doesn't exactly have a vibrant cafe society or third spaces for people living outside of the nuclear family unit constellation. So I was delighted to find this little cafe/ bookshop (The Book Cellar) which even has a tiny garden as well where you can get a cuppa tea, browse the books, sit down and maybe just get some writing done or just collect your thoughts. Folks were very friendly and I had no problems here whatsoever. It's small, very cozy but for little Abingdon, it's just right. I was so happy to find this corner of Abingdon. I may come back to Abingdon in the future for other workshops and if I do, I sure hope this little shop and cafe are still here.

She provided recommendations and shared with me the specials offered at the time. I ordered a custom made beverage, hot Toasted Marshmallow & Butter Cookie latte with oat milk; I topped it with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. It was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect sweet treat to warm me up on chilly winter afternoon. The cafe also featured a very cute book cellar that had the neatest items!! You can definitely tuck-away in this cafe to get work done, you can meet with friends for a coffee date, or even just chill and have a cup of coffee, a pastry and indulge in a nice book. If you're in Abingdon, VA, it's absolutely worth checking out!

Cool spot for breakfast or lunch. And I guess coffee…read more I don't drink coffee, but my friend Bod does. I stayed in Bluefield and he lives in Princeton, but he met me here since it was on my way to Cherokee. This leg of the trip was to drop off some cash for Mr. Bob. A lot of it. No, not that kind of money. Clean money. Anyway... The staff here is super friendly, the atmosphere fits the area, and the place has some charm. It looks like the prices for the sandwiches are very fair, but I got a bagel, and the price for one bagel is too high. However, this is more of a sandwich and coffee shop; it's not a bagel store. I definitely recommend The Grind. I'm not really a morning person so I don't know what Bob was talking about half the time, but that's just me. Definitely recommended!

It is next to the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum, so stopping here after a visit would be super easy. There were plenty of specialty drinks on the menu, and they trended towards the sugary direction. There were plenty of families enjoying the space, and options for kids and adults. My drink ended up being sugary-sweet and I probably would have asked them to dial it down if I had realized. On the plus side, they were able to get drinks out pretty quickly, in spite of there being quite the crowd. The space was clean and modern. Also, the bathroom was clean and very much appreciated on our road trip. I probably wouldn't sit and enjoy my drink here, due to the high traffic (at least when I visited). For a quick stop in, it's nice. I'll be sure to order better next time. Solid spot!
