I generally have a great experience at McDonald's--quick service, hot food, and tasty classics--so I don't post reviews often. But I wanted to share this one so management can improve. Visit: Oct 4, ~6:00 PM. I ordered a Double Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese at the drive-thru. I was handed the wrong order, returned it, and was asked to pull into Spot #1. After waiting about 7-8 minutes (while 5-6 cars behind me were served), I went inside. There were no cars in the drive-thru and several employees in back who appeared to be chatting; when I let them know I was still waiting, the response felt unhurried and it took roughly another 5 minutes. The sandwich I received was somewhat mangled (looked cut) and not hot enough to melt the cheese. Taste was okay overall, but the service on this visit missed the mark. I usually count on McDonald's for speed and a hot meal--just not this time. Hoping this was a one-off and that the team can tighten things up. read more

Every time I go to this McDonalds and order 2 filet o fish, they taste like they are cooked in old rancid oil. I ask them every time I go there when was the oil changed and they tell me the oil was just changed yesterday. I call BS on this McDonalds. This has to be the worst McDonald's we have ever been to. The quality of the food is terrible. It's like they just slap it together. No pride in their product whatsoever. Plus the order is ALWAYS cold, cheese is not melted and there are things always missing from the order. Don't try to call and talk to Daniel the manager, he will just hang up on you. No customer service skills at all. I think he needs to go back to McD University in Des Plaines IL for more training, because he definitely did not graduate with honors. I just went through the drive through at 10:20 and all the screens were black, but when I look online it says opened until 11.So why are employees closing early, just to verify I even called 5 minutes after leaving the drive through and someone picked up saying they close at 11. I just think the employees are being lazy at this point because this is the 3rd time this has happened at this McDonald's. read more

Food orders at the drive thru are wrong, wrong, wrong! It is unbelievable that the order is screwed up 2 out of 3 times on average. Incredible! BK's and B-A-Roo's records are near perfect at the drive thru; why is this McD location so bad? To quote a misused metaphor from a US Senator, "...you don't have to be a Rocket Surgeon..." to figure this out and get it right. Inside at busy times, it is a cluster !@#$ resembling the Keystone Cops. When was the last time the self serve drink machine was cleaned and sanitized? Why is Playland so dirty? A lot better effort at training the workforce and organizing the operation could yield a better delivery of service with more satisfied customers and a motivated, efficient workforce. I actually am going to try to avoid coming here because it seems I get disappointed almost every time. That and my grandchildren don't like the food here. They would rather eat at B-A-Roo. Your management would do well to visit, observe and learn from the McD operation in Buffalo Grove at the corner of Rt 83 and Arlington Heights Rd. They know how to run a McD restaurant. UPDATE: 3/9/13 - Another God awful experience here! Ordered the Double Fish Filet as advertised on TV. Was told it wasn't on sale here. After confusion at the drive thru cashiers window, I finally settled for 2 Filet of Fish and a large fries. While what I received at the pickup window was correct; however, the Filets were a disaster, assembled like they were made in a time trial. The service was not the best, the worker handing the food was very polite, however, the person taking orders was not polite at all (even though I was being polite at all times). I went in to order breakfast and the biscuits I got were honestly rock hard. It is disappointing that we had to get such bad quality food, I rather prefer to wait and get good enough quality food than to get awful food. Went here with my wife, ordered two meals at the counter and only got one fry. Not a big deal because I just went to the counter and got one. While sitting near the counter a customer from the drive-thru ordered and had to come in because they didn't give him what he ordered. He received the item he ordered, left and came back because they didn't make it the way he asked so he had to wait for them to add the condiment he asked for. I live in Roscoe, so this location is close and convenient for me. That is about the only thing good I can say about this particular McDonald's. I stop in with some regularity and find myself disappointed virtually every single time. The service is terribly slow... There are usually 4 to 5 employees behind the counter within reach of the cash registers yet none of them acknowledge customers. I have found myself waiting at the customer counter for 3 to 4 minutes before being recognized and having my order taken. I find this completely unacceptable. The customer service staff is poorly trained, does not smile, does not even speak a thank you after you have completed your order and paid for it. I have now gone out of my way and support other local businesses because of the ongoing frustration that I experience when I visit this McDonald's location. I have provided feedback to the McDonald's corporate offices via their MCDvoice.com survey site several times but have not seen any improvement at this location. Apparently "corporate" doesn't really care about their customers either. read more

What is up with fast food drive throughs that are no longer fast? With no one in line in front us tonight, we waited for 13 minutes at the drive through window to receive our food! No one even came to window to apologize or say a word. After waiting, a kid finally opened the window, handed us our food and closed the window. He forgot to give us something, so we had to sit and wait for him to cone back to the window! When he did, he tried to hand us the next customer's food. I stopped at McDonalds on Elevator Road to get a double quarter pounder with cheese. The line was long, but I eventually received my order. After 3 people asking if I ordered the double quarter pounder with cheese, I finally got my bag and drove off. When I opened the bag a few minutes later, I had a regular quarter pounder with cheese and the bun was wet and it looked like the bag had fallen on the floor and kicked around before it was given to me...a total mess inside the box and it was gross. Would give negative stars if I could. Every time I come to this location my order is wrong even if I order just coffee. When I do get food it is cold and tasteless. 2 weeks ago stopped for 2 vanilla iced coffees, they gave me the first one which clearly did not look right at all then told me to pull ahead to wait for the 2nd because they had to refill their cream machine. They delivered the 2nd one which looked how it is supposed to do I asked the employee to take the first one back and fix it because it tasted terrible. She looked at me with big eyes and spazzed out and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about when I showed her the difference in color in both. She did take it back and a different person brought the replacement and apologized but it should not take 30 minutes to get 2 iced coffees.
