I placed a mobile order. I did not say verbally what I was ordering through the drive-through. I selected what I wanted to order on the app I selected medium fry. I selected mc double and I selected my reward for a free four piece chicken nugget I paid for this. It was six dollars almost seven dollars. A Mc double is only three dollars so that means the other four dollars was the cost of the medium fry after I gave my code which is shown in the photo through the speaker I pull up and I recieve a small fry, the chicken nuggets and the mcdouble. All I said was I ordered a medium fry not a small and the manager said you did not pay for a medium and I was like I can show you my mobile app. And he said we did not get your code but here I'll give it to you anyway, but you did not pay for them. The chicken nuggets were free. It shows that so I know I didn't pay seven dollars for a Mc double there's no way that this could have happened because it was a mobile order and there's no way they didn't get the code because if they didn't get the code, they wouldn't have had any idea what I ordered although I was given the medium fry and it was solved. We come to this McDonald's every now and then. Once in a while the food is great other times it's a complete disaster. For the most part we get lucky and the food has turned alright but it's usually best to go somewhere else. The clientele tends to get a bit rowdy at times in and around the store. It's not McDonalds fault by any means it more of the location issue. Today, upon entering the store, a man was standing in the middle of the restaurant talking obnoxiously loud to another patron (BLAH BLAH BLAH!), UM HELLO, INSIDE VOICE PLEASE! I am used to this because it happens to be normal operation in Sanford but visitors to the area would be turned off really quick. The reason for our visit was that this McDonald's sent out some good coupons recently so we decided to stop by for a quick snack. The coupons we used were for a buy-one-get-one McCafé (any size) and a free Egg McMuffin (no purchase required). We showed up late afternoon so of course they were not prepared for the Coffee & Egg McMuffin order. Which is fine by me because that means they have to make it to order. We always ask if the coffee is fresh, if it's not we are willing to wait for a freshly brewed pot. The clerk neglected to start brewing the coffee immediately so after three minutes or so my wife asked her if she started brewing the coffee yet and she was like "oh yeah, woops". In the meantime, my wife waited on the outdoor patio with our dog while I was inside collecting our order. Then a local homeless lady pulled up on her bicycle just outside where my wife was sitting and began talking to and hollering at the person who did not exist next to her, GREAT! We got a live one here. I finally retrieved our order and met up with my Wife and dog on the patio to embrace everything that is great in this town including the hooting/hollering lady and her bicycle behind us. Eventually the lady went into the store and we were able to enjoy our late day snack. The coffee was perfectly made, you can't go wrong with McDonalds coffee when made right. Our Egg McMuffin was definitely freshly made and delicious. No complaints with our food on this trip however it did take about 15 minutes for our order to be fulfilled. As we were finishing up our snack the lady returned to the bike rack a second time to carry on another conversation with the invisible entity. Whomever it was she was speaking to obviously was not someone she cared for. Well, this time around the experience here was a bit awkward but nothing that I am not used to in this town. The food was good but service was quite lacking. The restaurant and patio were orderly, clean and well kept. I will not go out of my way to eat here often but I will return on occasion. read more

Stopped here for lunch before heading to the zoo. We swung by the drive thru thinking it was the quicker choice. Once we got to the window, I had my McDonalds app open and asked about a cheeseburger bundle pack. At first she said they didn't have it but then she was able to find it. 2 cheeseburgers, 2 medium fries, 20-piece nuggets and a lg drink for $12.99. Price should have been around $15.95 so we saved $3. Plus we added a $1 large fry coupon so lunch for 5 was under $15. So the cost effectiveness for McDonald's is always the draw for coming. Unfortunately, as nice as the workers were at the windows, the execution was less than stellar. There are 2 drive thru lines/ordering kiosks that merge into one line. The girl at the pay window didn't confirm my order. She told me "$13" I handed her my card. She handed me the receipt only... it wasn't my order. So then a manager needed to come over, refund the original charge and ring us up for our actual order. Get to the pickup window, I'm handed a bag. I peek in and see the original wrong order. I hand it back and after a few minutes of confusion, they locate our order. Food was "meh". Nuggets seemed a little old and fries weren't as hot and crispy as we'd like. Downtown Sanford location gets pretty busy especially during the mornings and later in the evenings. This is the closest location from where I work and so several people I know and work with visit here often. Since Covid, service is pretty quick which is great for lunch runs, but the menu shrank. I think for all locations they're only following suite. The customer in the mornings from the evenings is like day and night. Customer service is amazing during the morning shift, service moves quickly, and food is spot on. Employees in the morning seem happy and show love to their customers. Unfortunately, in the late afternoons and evenings; service is the complete opposite. This just goes to show there's a major difference between each crew moral and management. Then it was another 20 min to pay and get food. No apologies for the delay. Got to the window to pick up food. The "person" inside was fiddling with the soda machine. Didn't even acknowledge that we were there. Went and got another person to help with the machine, again fiddling with it and not even acknowledging us. I am pleasantly suprised with this McDonald's. At the time of this writing the reviews are at two stars. Based on the negative reviews I thought this McDonald's was going to be awful. It turns out they got everything in my order right and everything was fresh and tasty. People are more likely to leave a review when they have a bad experience vs when they have a good experience, so I think that is why this McDonald's has so many bad reviews. And I also think any McDonald's in general is hit or miss and this time for me it was a hit. I have no complaints with this McDonald's.
