While I was tapping through the order, she returned from the ladies room with a look that said more than words. The restroom wasn't clean, and two nearby tables still hadn't been cleared. Then I glanced at the total over $20. For McDonald's? That was enough. We stood up and walked out before committing. If you want to wait a ridiculous amount of time for four Happy Meals for kids, only to receive no sauces and then be met with an "Oh my God" when you ask for them, this is the place for you. They also forgot to include straws. The staff had an extremely long line, yet one employee was leaning over the counter on their phone instead of helping customers. McDonald's, do better. Improve? How about firing the race-bating, employee that tried to accuse me of slavery after she wanted to ARGUE with me when I questioned the price of my order. A senior cup of coffee and a cheese/egg biscuit? I could have got the 2 sausage egg biscuits and just taken the meat off....but she says things like, "she is not my slave"? Excuse me, since when do slaves get paid? When I called the nearby McDonalds to get a number complain they said, is that young lady's name "Z"? Evidently her reputation proceed her. this place will straight up steal your money, I asked for a hot fudge sundae and an Oreo McFlurry, they charged me for it and then, once i pulled up to the pickup window a lady with glasses said the machine was down. I asked for a refund but they said they couldn't refund back into my card so I needed something of equal value. I asked for something similair in price and they changed and said it HAD to be a soft drink??? so not only did i spend money on ice cream for something I didn't received, They were extremely rude. not to mention the place is filthy all the time, don't come here, period. read more

I arrived to pick up an order and was ignored while the staff laughed and joked. After 20 minutes I asked about my order and it was finally thrown together and pretty much thrown at me. I treat others with respect and deserve to receive the same. These people are absolutely awful at their jobs!!! I'd give them less than one star if I could. read more

As Mc Donald's go we in Shallotte, North Carolina have an O. K. Restaurant. The food is consistently mediocre. I usually use the drive thru. The car lane usually moves rather slow...but, the good thing is, I don't have to go inside. Most of the time the service and food is OK. There is just me explanation for them. We get there and order our food the first in line and they tell us to move forward and they will bring the food out 15 minutes later the come out with a happy meal and two sprits and we told them it was not ours then they come back out and tell us the frat pay machine is not working. Then come back out and ask what we ordered and we ask for our refund and we sit and wait for it for 10 minutes and they never brought it to use so we went inside and they were arguing and yelling at each other. If you want to waste your money by eating out some where unhealthy and at the same time never get what you paid for, then this is the place for you! A place where if you want extra caramel on your frape you'll pay for it (which is reasonable) but you usually dont get it. A place where employees are startled and confused when you request lots of pickles. Ive tried different ways over the years to convey how many pickles I wanted on my sandwhich. Ive tried saying "lots and lots of pickles" "extra extra extra extra pickles" "just smother the entire sandwhich in pickles". Unfortunately, the result is usually only 3 pickles. Ive even tried asking if I could just pay for a small cup of pickles on the side and that just confuses them even more. This is a place where ordering a cheese burger with only pickles and cheese also causes confusion, as if the notion that someone doesnt want ketchup confuses them so much that they cant even comprehend it so they add ketchup anyway. I dont lay all blame on the employees though, as this seems to be an issue at every Mc Donalds, though some are admittedly worse than others. Maybe if Mcdonalds employees everywhere were treated right and paid a living wage, then they would be motivated to put more effort into their job. Youd think a 100 billion dollar industry could afford to pay their employees a living wage so they actually run a half way decent fastfood chain, but who wants to pay fastfood workers a living wage when share holders can instead buy another beach house or sports car? Unfortunately the local Mc Donalds has no control over that so I do empathize. I dont make a big deal in the resturante about the never ending inability to follow simple requests even if Im the only person there. I just ask them to correct my food or say screw it and eat it because thats what I get for wasting money on bullshit like fastfood. Although I feel for them, the local Mc Donalds does need to step up their game. But I dont foresee the service changing anytime soon, if ever. Worst McDonald's I have ever been to (over and over for the past 3 years when in the area) and today was the last. Not sure who is hiring but they are not picking the right people or training. No customer service skill. Average wait time for food over 10 minutes. They have a bizarre process for taking orders involving writing you name down and then passing it in to wait for someone else to complete. We walked into the restaurant, and there was a woman there, holding a dog. I checked the N C law regarding pets in restaurants, and this was clearly a violation of that law. The worse McDonald's I have ever been to. Employees had horrible attitudes and lots of eye rolls because my fries were cold. My bun was saturated in butter and when I went to get a replacement bun some lady at the counter (who was the managers friend) said it was the Mexicans in the backs fault. I was appalled. I'm a local and I've stopped going to this particular location due to the fact that they never get your order right in the drive thru, and the food is always cold. Numerous times , I've seen people drive off, because of long wait times. This place seriously needs to step it up. The first thing one notices as you walk in the door is the smell of rancid food. The floors have food on them and are actually greasy. The doors have fingerprints all of them and there are 4 tables that haven't been cleaned; there are spilled, dried drink syrups over them. Only 5 people to wait on customers. I understand labor costs are a financial issue all the time; HOWEVER, someone in authority should hire one person to deep clean such a filthy restaurant. I will not ever frequent this McDonalds again. Management has a major cleanliness problem. I go by this McDonalds daily and their foot-traffic is very low compared to surrounding McDonalds. Wake up!
