I had been craving a Big Mac so went through the drive-through. Service was efficient and quick! The fries were hot and delicious. The PROBLEM: they put way too much "goo" on my Mac! I think they use a dispenser which poops out a big splotch and it is not appealing at all. Three bites of it and I was fingers-in-goo and couldn't eat it. That sucks for the money I spent. I have eaten at mcdonalds at all 5 locations in shasta county and used to rate the shasta lake city as best, not anymore. The fries were old and barely warm, the fish filet was also old and the bun hard,I think it got smaller as well.Looks like they got rid of much of the staff.We have to keep going to Mcdonalds to keep their exectutives making those huge salaries because they have gotten rid of many workers. I give a no-star rating. A FAT ZERO!!! I took my son in for lunch yesterday on a rainy and cold day as a treat from his school lunch and it was FREEZING in there! Even the kitchen staff had hoodies and beanies on, it was so cold. The fries that sucked already were cold within minutes and his cheese burger came with no cheese. He also thought the dried onions on it was rice! I quit going to McCrap restaurants a long time ago because of service, crappy food and there fries. NOT the best fries like back in the day by any means. GO ARBY'S and there curly fries! Yum Yum! I want to start off by saying the food was better than most McDonalds I've ever eaten at. I ordered the quarter pounder delux and the veggies were fresh and delicious, the perfect amount of mayo and a great balance overall. I asked for light salt on my fries and they did exactly that and added some salt packs in the bag in case there wasn't enough. I ws very happy with the service as well as the food. read more

Came here while going to Redding and it was a major disappointment. The place was only opened for to go orders with restrooms closed. There was a few cars in the drive thru but not anything extreme. There were a few customers inside with us but less than 6 total, but the staff still had trouble keeping up with orders. We even were missing one of the sandwiches we had ordered. read more

I'm not one to be rude about any restaurant especially since McDonalds is my favorite go to place but I'm not reviewing about the food itself. It's about the customer service! We ordered simple meals( 2-20 piece chicken nuggets) and they only put 8 in one box and 9 in another but got the other two right. Make sure you check to make sure it's the amount ordered! Also the girl at the window was rude. We told her we only had 4 barbecues and she continued to say she knows she put six and shoved 2 in my dads hand and closed the sliding door. I visit the Shasta lake city location often, as its right next to my kids school. So one morning as I was in the drive through, after ordering I was mortified pulling up to the window to pay when I realized I left my debit card at home. I only had 4 dollars in cash on me, and my order was around 18 dollars. I had to get my son breakfast before school though, so when I pulled up to the window I told the lady working what happened, and apologized- I felt so bad having to cancel my big order. I asked if theres any way I could change it to just a sausage Mc muffin so I could feed my son before he went to school, I knew this was an inconvenience. She called her manager to cancel the order and put the new one in, and told her what happened. Instead of voiding it out, the manager said this one was on her, and gave me my whole original order for free! What was one of the most embarrassing moments ever turned into an amazing one. I unfortunately lost my receipt to do the survey, so emailed the company directly and thought a yelp review might help as well. I basically agree with all of the reviews posted so far, but I'm not gonna blame this restaurant because the building owner hired a lousy parking lot repair company, or that a customer dropped french fries outside. I'm going to rate this McDonald's in relation on other McDonald's locations I've been to. The management at this location should be replaced. It is inexcusible that the dining room and restrooms are as dirty as they are. I can only assume that the kitchen is in a similar state. Yes, I know the employees are responsible to do a good job, but it's the manager's responsibility to check on it and make it good before the public has to complain about it!
