Can I give zero stars? This store deserves it. Seriously, everyone that works here should be fired. Especially the management. They're slow, they don't care at all about the customers, and they don't seem to be able to complete an order correctly-ever. Not only do they move so slow that they might be stopped, but there is zero sense of urgency even when you tell them that they did it wrong. The service at this location is horrible. The amount of teenagers sitting around in the back on their cell phones talking & horse playing while making people food is outrageous. There was one kid scratching his face with gloves & didn't even change them until I got the attention of the manager. I will not be ever eating at this location again. This McDonald's really needs to step it up and get their act together. I always go inside to order and today their was a couple people in front of me and soon a couple people behind me. All registers were open though and the line moved smoothly. Thankfully! I ordered a free six piece chicken nugget with sweet and sour sauce, small fry and small drink. Took about 10 minutes to get my food. I also received a orange juice instead of a small drink cup. Had to wait in line again to get the right drink. The Forgotten Customer In this paper I will be outlining the events which took place on Friday, September 18th, 2020. I am a long-time supporter of McDonald's and specifically of this location. This relationship has had various high points and numerous low points. For the next 15 or so pages I will go over the 3 S's of McDonalds. Salt. It's in everything. I love salt, you love salt, he loves salt, she loves salt...everyone loves salt. Sodium is integral to every day life. McDonald's certainly has no shortage of it. For the past 200 years McDonald's has made its salty fries a staple in the American lifestyle. Any time I'm feeling down I go get a Medium fry and the salt always immediately rejuvenates me and brings happiness and hypertension to my heart. Sugar. It's in everything. I love sugar, you love sugar, he loves sugar, she loves sugar...everyone loves sugar. McDonald's has the perfect blend of sugar and salt that could (and does) make a grown man cry. From the sugar in the fries to the sugar in the famous COCA-COLA, there is definitely no shortage of sugar at MCDONALDS. Sex. Now this is a subject that I know might not be familiar with the lot of you. You might also be wondering how this has anything to do with McDonalds. Before you get your little mind spinning with all the possibilities, let me just stop you right now. Sex; it has nothing to do with McDonald's. Many of my favorite summers in Utica, Michigan have been spent at my local McDonald's restaurants. Some of my staples are the Spicy McChicken, the BQP, and recently the McTravis Scott meal. My friends and I love McDonalds. We're probably the biggest supporters in Michigan, and quite possibly, the whole country. If Ronald McDonald ran for president he'd definitely have my vote. I could go on for days about my love for McDonald's but I must digress, and get to the actual purpose of this essay. It was a nice Friday afternoon in Shelby township, the sun was out, the winds were calm, my spirits were high. I thought there was no better way to spend a September Friday afternoon, than visiting my local McDonald's. I began my journey by first driving to the 21 and Van Dyke location. The line was so long it reached 8 mile road and Dequindre. Naturally, I went to the next closest location, 23 and Van Dyke. 23 mile road is currently under construction and due to the fact that I didn't want to dick with that, I trucked on to the 26 mile location. Upon arrival at the 26 and Van Dyke McDonald's I immediately was smacked right in the face with the realization that I would be in line for quite some time. At this point in my journey, I was too hungry and too tired to be mad about the wait. After about 5-10 minutes in the drive thru, I encroach on the speaker. I tell the nice young lad my order, he obliges and tells me my total. Things are going swimmingly. After another couple of minutes pass I get to the window to pay. I hand the lad my card and he politely lets me know that they are busy and I'll need to pull up to the 2nd window because my food isn't ready just yet. I tell him, "hey, no problem brother, I get it. Thank you", and pull to the 2nd window. This is where things took a turn for the worst. I'm waiting at the second window, i'm watching cars behind me get food passed to them through the window and then subsequently driving off. For the first 2-3 cars I saw leave before me, I thought, "eh, that's alright, they must've had food that was easier to make". Upon arrival, I ordered a grilled chicken southwest salad. I just wanted a quick dinner but for it to be a fast food restaurant and I had to wait a whopping 30(!!) minutes is absolutely ridiculous. As I pulled to the window, my salad WAS NOT even ready! I had to pull up and wait an additional 25 minutes! I figured they forgot about me so I stepped inside to get my meal and they had it ready immediately. I ate my salad and the chicken basically bathed in grease and tasted like rubber. It was nasty. I almost felt a heart attack waiting to happen. I had to throw the chicken out immediately. The lettuce was wilted too. So I eventually just threw out the entire salad Oh and the fries?! The fries were completely filled with salt and I felt as if I drowned myself into an ocean because it was literally all salt, absolutely disgusting. The line was literally backed out into 26 mile. We need a new mcdonalds staff completely for midnight shift. The food here is always pathetic. I live 2mins from this one and choose to go to 23 mile because of how terrible the food quality is here midnight shift. Day shift is usually good. I'm not sure how it's possible that just a short time after their opening (less than two months) that it is a MESS inside. Regularly drive thru to get a Diet Coke and went in today because the drive thru line was outrageously long. The inside was dirty everywhere. Garbage was full; ketchup on the floor; garbage by the fountain drink area; just disgusting. I went on a Saturday afternoon. Management needs to change.
