This was the slowest McDonald's I've ever been to. We waited for at least 20 minutes for 3 crispy chicken sandwiches. The sandwiches were fine, but it looks incredibly dirty behind the counter and the waiting area is so cramped because they have self service stations (which aren't much faster to use). I would have gotten a double chocolate muffin but it looked grossed smushed up against the wall in the case. read more

the worst McDonald's in the state!! always extremely dirty, the staff ignores you completely so if your having an issue with one of the machines or god forbid you want to pay with cash for your meal, might as well leave you'll stand there for an half hour just to be ignored it has happened to me many many times. then to top it off the consistency of food quality is horrendous one day you might get a perfect breakfast sandwich or burger the next youll get burnt to a hockey puck food more often than not it's burnt. Placed a mobile order, simple. I go to the speaker. i say "hi I have a mobile order" the girl says "what can I get you" i say again "I have a mobile order". someone in the back says "yeah we heard you lady!". the lady says ok what's your name, etc. i get to the first window and basically get my receipt thrown at me. second window. some lady who looked high on something hands me my two drinks slowly. window shuts. 3 minutes later the window opens again and Tina is there. she hands me my food and says "sorry hun i can't give you all the sauces you ordered. did you get your drinks?" i say yes and she slams the window. great thanks for the half cooked fries. not enough sauce for the nuggets, which were stuck together and the breading wasn't cooked all the way in those spots. yuck. and lastly thanks for the horrible service. y'all rude as heck. read more

They're always forgetting something or are messy with the orders. Just ordered a big mac and it came with lettuce everywhere and fell out of the box when it opened because it was made so poorly. Also found a hair in my food as well. Disgusting and sloppy. Update: Just went there with a friend and she ordered 5 hash browns for her and some other friends and they only gave us two. Not only that they made us wait for them. When she went in to get the rest it turns out one of the other workers had taken them out of the order for someone else's. After a 13 hour work day, i came to the mcdonalds because I needed something to eat. I ordered the food and went to the window. when I got there I complimented the order taker because the combined some of the items into meals, making it a bit cheaper. I was asked to pull ahead and wait because they were waiting for fries. I thought, MAN I LOVE fresh fries. When the order came out, the manager practically threw the bags in my hand, and didnt even say good night, or anything. i came to this McDonalds so me and my mother who is 75 could get a quick bite to eat and get some for my 3 kids. noted the server at this restaurant was my ex boyfriend of 3 years so as the responsible adult i did not make a fuss or be rude to him i wanted my food and i wanted to leave. What i did not expect was to roll around to the first window to see dirty looks being given to me from who looked to be their manager and my ex boyfriend. I am a very polite person and looked past it but with the snide remarks he made about how much i ordered for my kids, me and my mother. When we pulled around to the second window there was a curly headed teenager who i was expecting to be rude to me greeted me with a smile and gave me my drink i sat jaw dropped he was so kind and respectful. After i was given all of my food we began to drive away but as my mother was looking in the bags she noticed that one of the big macs i ordered was not there so we went into a parking space to get the one they missed when we got inside it was crowded and all the tables were dirty i swear there were ants on the soda machine as i sat and waited there for help no one came to help me so i decided to peak over the small barrier they had to call for a worker. (i was waiting 5 minutes before i did that). After i asked for help some old homophobic racist fat lady with glasses barked at me and told me to give them a second. I i waited there for another 5 mins for someone to help me when i finally got someone to come help me it was the lady who barked at me. when i said i didt get the big mac she said they did not have any left over and she says AND I QUOTE IT "are you sure you didt eat it?" how rude this lady was broke me i screamed and ran out of the store. i went into the car and began crying as my mother tried to comfort me we drove home and i gave my kid my big mac. One of the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. My LARGE iced coffee was made wrong at a different location so I go to the Swanton location to get it replaced. The manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional and instead of just replacing my iced coffee, they gave me a SMALL cup to add to my already watered down coffee. This made it undrinkable. The manager doesn't take ownership and instead of replacing an iced coffee to a customer that goes 2-3 times a day, they failed at guest satisfaction entirely. I'm pretty sure the manager is racist, and money is more important than a happy customer. Do yourself a huge favor and drive a little further to St Albans. read more

Food is decent majority of the time fries are old and barely warm. My fiancé has ordered numerous burgers and breakfast orders,between the forgetting things we've asked to have in the order,to having hair in the food,the buns and the muffins are cold and hard,and getting the order wrong all together. The only time we go to this McDonald's is to get our 4-year old toddler his Mighty Kids meal,and 99% of the time THEY CANT EVEN GET THAT RIGHT!!!!!! read more

McDonald's isn't that great to begin with but the Swanton McDonald's is filled with the rudest, laziest employees. My last interaction in the drive thru was the deal breaker. I was rudely told without so much as a good morning by someone completely lacking any semblance of people skills that "we're only accepting cash, is that going to be a problem?" I was a little put off but decided to continue the transaction and asked for an oj. I was then told by the same snarky teenage turd that the oj machine wasn't working and it was said like I should've known that. I ended up leaving the drive thru in disgust without completing my order. From now on, if I want to degrade myself by eating McDonald's food, I'll travel a few extra miles to the St Albans location where the employees don't suck or just skip it all together. read more

Have been a customer at this location (Swanton, VT) for the past 7 years and even since back then their customer service has been mediocre. It has gone downhill in the last few recent years. Tonight I went through the drive-thru and had an order for dinner for my family of 4- pretty decent size order. The girl at the drive-thru asked me after each meal if that was all for my order. She had me feeling so rushed that in the end I forgot to order my own fries. While at the food window and looking at the receipt (feeling rushed therefore couldn't interpret it), I asked the woman there how many fries were on that receipt and she looked at it and said "3" and gave it back to me. She obviously knew something wasn't correct and she also was rushing me and never offered to do anything at all to assist me and rectify the situation. Even asking me if I wanted to order another one would have been a nice gesture. Lovely. I get no fries with my dinner. From now on I will drive out of my way to go to another local McDs. Not to mention the fries were all STONE COLD (which is an almost every visit occurrence). I have officially given up with this particular location. You just lost a pretty good customer. I file a complaint with the Swanton police department on 6-27-2012 at 9:30 PM. I paid a $10.12 charge with a Twenty dollar bill and one dime , two pennies, The clerk instead of giving me my change , proceeded to fill my order and presented it to me , when I ask for my change for the Twenty dollar bill she said she already gave it to me. She had not. after a 15 minute wait and a drawer count the night manager inform me the I was not entitled to anything. read more

Had an uncooked burger delivered to my car after being told at the drive thru to go pull into the wait area because a simple no onion burger was not made yet. After biting and eating 1 bite-it tasted off. With my health complications, ended up in ER as a precautionary measure and unable to eat for the entire day after this issue. Unable to get the vermont health department to take ant interest and they sounded like a very inexperienced professional works at this state department as well. read more
