Window and girl with AirPod in ear

Food was hot and good. Service on the other hand was not the best. We went to the drive thru and took like 30min to receive a happy meal we ordered. It looked like she was talking on the phone and talking to the other employees and not working. She was kind but not really working.

This place is Filthy . They have plenty of help but nobody does any cleaning . The tables were all used and not wiped or anything. I guess Covid is over and we don't have to wipe after each family leaves . I will not be going back . The girl at the register didn't ask more for here or to go when I ask for my number because I was staying she didn't know what I wa talking about . She said my number is on my ticket . That number isn't a table number. Pitiful she spoke English didn't understand. There was a girl filling napkins and straws , but she could have been wiping tables . Piss poor management.

Okay listen. I never review chains. But I'm also never quarantined to the point of insanity (just pointing out a correlation is all). So yes. I used a coupon for a free breakfast sandwich and grabbed an iced coffee with it. You can't say no to a bagel triple double stack AND a large iced coffee all for $1.59. Hard times mean little pleasures matter a lot. But honestly this review is nothing to do with the food.. let's be real. It's a McDonalds we're talking about No no, this is about the young man who provided me with my order. No idea his name, but he was extremely sweet, and idk maybe its the overall lack of human communication these days, but it made my day. Of course the mound of breakfast meats gently piled between doughy carbs and cheese helped as well. So thank you, young sir.

Based on the number of metal-shirt-wearing folks at the restaurant, I figured I'd found the best local spot before the show. Next time I'm at the Pike Cafe I'll get more to eat; this time all I needed was something small and their bruschetta plate was just what I'd been in the mood for. I haven't had bruschetta this style before, with a bowl of the bruschetta components and the bread separately. It was unbelievably good. I wish I was eating it again right now, as I type this. I didn't try the fries, but my friend did, and he said they were some of the best fries he's ever had. The servers were friendly and beer prices reasonable (Sunday nights, Miller Lites $3!). The people next to me got to pull a number out of a raffle, or something like that, since they were wearing sports clothing. So, something to keep in mind next time.

Burrata Fritta is a generous sized and tasty fried cheese appetizer but, it only came with two small pieces of crustini so you'll end up eating most of it with a fork. Seared scallops tasted excellent as well but there was only 3 and they were the size of a 50 cent coin and about 3/8 of an inch thick. They were served over a generous bed of seasoned peas but, you are buying the scallops not the peas. Like I mentioned before, food tasted excellent there just could have been a little more thought out into appetizer creation. Entrees we selected were a just satisfying portion size and tasted excellent as well. We usually like to take home some of our main entrees for a later small meal but we ended up eating them both in restaurant. One thing important to note of importance to local diners is that entrees do not come with sides or salads. They must be ordered separately. Portions could have been maybe 8% to 10% bigger. I am not complaining but rather suggesting. I will definitely go back again to try some of the other entrees offered.

I like Wayback because customizations go beyond adding mainstays like lettuce, tomato, and onion. It still boggles my mind that all the fast food giants still nickel and dime you for those three basic toppings. So yeah, props to the casual burger chains that still offer these up for free. And like Five Guys, you can add "premium" toppings like jalapenos, grilled onions, and mushrooms at no additional charge as well. In addition to burgers and fries, Wayback serves up chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried cheese curds. I was also impressed by the interior. It's pretty sleek with this sort of retro, wood-panel aesthetic to it. Wayback Burgers fits snuggly between, let's say the Burger Kings of the world and the boutique joints like Five Guys and Shake Shack. The only thing holding it back is quality and consistency. I remember my burger patties being dry to the point of breaking down and crumbling. This probably has to do with the fact that the patties seemed noticeably... small? Like 3 oz., tops. Maybe I'm imagining it but that's sure what it felt like. Getting a double here is basically a must.
