I was really surprised to find a McDonalds of all places in Venice. But I was sure glad that there was one. Not only is it convenient, plenty of seats that didn't charge you for the privilege of sitting down. But the prices are typical for McDonalds and not hiked up. The food is fast and the menu is bigger than what you would find in the US. Plant based options are available along with the regular menu. But like the rest of Europe, it was slightly smaller. During the summer, there are special items, in this case a beach towel for 5 euros if you buy a meal. Considering the coastal region, this is definitely something worth getting. This restaurant was clean and well kept and the staff has some English skills. Definitely a must if you want a meal at a reasonable price. read more

McDonald's is all over the world. We want to have some snacks and soft drinks after hours of walking in Venice. We are looking for the bathroom too! Lol! It is straightforward to place the order at the self-service kiosk. At least I don't have to try to talk to the cashier who may or may not understand English. You can choose English at the self-service kiosks. The large-size soda is the same size as the small in the United States and costs almost double. This is not a problem. I understand everything in the United States are huge compared to other countries. The restroom required a code printed on the receipt. So the bathroom is only available after purchase. But the bathrooms are not very clean! They have an outdoor seating area. But it has many birds nonstop trying to get leftover food on the tables. read more

I'm noting this place in passing as I experienced a real first. Truth be told there's much better food and coffee all around it but an attraction is it sells beer. I couldn't countenance going here surrounded by good food. I'm not totally opposed to it it's a fall back. A Big Mac meal here was about 8 euro according to the menu board. I usually go to Mc Donald's overseas to use their toilets and WiFi although in Egypt I did have the food quite often as by Egyptian standards their food is haute cuisine. Yes Egypt is that grimly bad. Anyway this Mc D was packed and buzzing, mostly with young people, and this was low season; there wasn't a seat to be had with people standing outside waiting to get in to order. I'd not want to be here high season. So I joined the queue for the restroom. Thankfully, it wasn't a long queue but it wasn't a fast queue either then a staffer came in and opened a locked loo - it was obvious they had limited the number of available loos (dear knows why) and must have seen the queue growing and made an executive decision to open another. When he opened the loo something happened I'd never experienced before, and it jarred me somewhat. The staffer stopped the next in line for the loo in the queue and pointed over to me, gesturing me to go in, for which I was grateful. Wow, it also instantly dawned on me that I was at least twice as old as everyone else queuing and it was obvious- was I the cause of the opening of an otherwise locked loo? I was being offered the courtesy that age used to bring from the young automatically but so rarely now - a seat on public transport, being allowed to go ahead as a priority as happened here, patience and tolerance. I'd thought the era of good manners and kindness long dead and this gesture only served mostly to reinforce it - now when you get old you become invisible to the young. Holy Hell!! It was so crowded today , no seats anywhere & they only have one stall for women & one stall for men! I waited 40 minutes on line to use the bathroom!! They wouldn't open the handicap bathroom for everyone. For such a huge establishment everyone was so shocked at the lack of bathrooms. read more

Not really a fan of McDonald's but finding food along this strip in Venice, or in Venice in general is tough. Especially at a reasonable price. I use that loosely because this Mickey D's is hella expensive compared to a Times Square location in New York City. That being said I've found that McDonald's in Italy taste better, even at ones I went to in the more traditional outskirts in Rome. The place was clean but often packed, a value meal was going for what equated to about 13-15 dollars US. The service was quick and on point restoring my faith slightly in a personally lesser visited chain like McDonald's. read more

Things were getting a little crazy on the Danieli's hotel balcony, with the wine and the decadent appetizers and all. The buzz was on. But adventurous souls as we were, we ventured out from Danielis into the night. Amid the stores selling golden sculptures and blown glass, and the chic ristorantes, we stumbled onto a McDonalds for God's sake. Has American imperialism even invaded Venezia? What has the world come to? No way were we going to stoop to this place for food on a European adventure, but mackas is always good for an iced water on the go, right? They wanted 2 euros for a cup of tap water with ice, without even spouting the American BS about the cost of the cup a la 7-11. Yup, they were serious, almost 3 bucks for a cup of tap water. I let the Euro chick server know that they were one of only two McDonalds in the world that charge for tap water - the other one is in Haleiwa, HI (50 cents). Blank look from the Euro chick, who had a serious Goth thing going. Real Goth, not like from Silver Lake or San Diego. Kinda cool actually. Terrible location. Although the front sign says they close at 24:00, they make up their own hours and actually closed at 22:30. The two cashiers that worked on the night of 9/11/17 around 22:25 were total assholes. The woman had a nose piercing and was very rude. I don't think she cares for tourists. The menu looked appetizing and different from NYC menus, but I wouldn't know how good the food tastes since they closed ahead of schedule. Don't go here unless you look Italian. read more

The employees here at night are very rude. The two cashiers that worked here on 11/09/2017 - September 11 (female especially) were very nasty. The sign outside says they close at 11pm. My friend and I walked in at 10:25pm and the first thing she did was shake her head and say "CLOSED!" We inquired about the closing time the next day as it also says 11 and she gave us an attitude and said, "Same time, 11!" Definitely not the type of respect we've been getting here in Italy so we know it's not something cultural, but I suppose every place has its bad apples and she was definitely one of them. Was looking for a little nostalgia from home, and we wanted to see what they might have on the menu we did not have in the United States. I would say McDonald's wouldn't be the first place to think of to eat when you are talking about a city with some of the most extravagant restaurants and hotels in the world but that's probably the reason many visitors to this beautiful city find themselves there-it can be very hard to find somewhere just for a light snack or cold soft drink without paying a lot of money or going to a supermarket. That's why we went-just for a light snack and a drink in the afternoon-and this McDonald's was the same as most of them-clean, convenient and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and there is free wi-fi which is useful for checking the internet etc while out and about in the city. It is in a central location not far from the Grand Canal and the main tourist areas of the city. read more

Went to this McDonalds as soon as they were open (at 7am, coz i reached Venice early in the morning, and they're the only ones who had prepared food). I was expecting standard service and standard breakfast because it's a franchise fast food chain, so how could they possible screw this up right? The cashier who was taking my order was horribly rude and was a tad bit racist (comparing the way she spoke to me and some other locals).The food was terrible (aside from McMuffin buns, which was almost impossible to screw up). Surprisingly the cappuccino served was not bad (italian coffee ftw) so that's probably the only good thing about this McDonalds. Would never go there again. read more
