The restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff as "the best pizza in Venice." We were fresh off the plane and fully jet lagged, so that may have contributed to our experience. But while the pizza has really good flavor with the San Marzano based sauce's and fresh mozzarella cheese, the crust was very thin, and the sauce was very wet/loose. We ate it all, but it was impossible to hold the pizza in our hands. My wife says that Italians always eat their pizza with a knife and fork, but this was a little too wet. read more

On a hunt for a burger and fries to satisfy the taste of home, we found this place a few shops down from our hotel. The menu looked like it had a few good options so we sat at a table for two outside. A few minutes later around 7, the restaurant was filled up. My fiancé enjoyed the local lager he ordered: fruity and light. He got a burger and only ate half which is rare. That means it's a jam packed burger if he can't finish it. The fries were delicious. They way they were cut and cooked were just right. This is a great place to come for some familiar American tastes. read more

We were actually looking to eat some where else but couldn't find it so stopped and looked at the menu for this place and said why not. The service here was excellent. We ordered a pizza for the kids and they cut it in half and had it on different plates for them. I had the pasta with tuna and eggplant. When it came out I got worried because it didn't appear like what I had envisioned but man it was good, I was pleasantly surprised. The prices I think were good, this was our first place we ate here so not sure if it was cheap for the area but coming from Rome the prices here were very fair and reasonable. read more

Very friendly workers. The large beer is very large 1 liter. The pepper poppers and the pasta carbonara were both excellent.

I felt somewhat scammed coming into this place, suspecting it was because we're Americans. I wanted a certain pasta but was strongly suggested by the server that I order a more expensive one that didn't end up being good. Also, we received a 2nd appetizer that we didn't order. I had asked him what it was and said that we didn't order it, and he explained what it was but ignored the "we didn't order it" part. My mom liked it anyway, thinking perhaps it came as part of her meal, which would give him the benefit of the doubt, so ended up eating it. However, it still showed up on our bill anyway. By principle, I don't think we should've been responsible for something we didn't order. There are so many other restaurants in Venice. Don't bother coming here if you don't speak Italian and want to be taking advantage of as foreigners. read more

We stopped by here on our trip to Venice because our hotel was near and it was too late to walk anywhere else. We ordered 1 pizza and a beer and it was honestly the best pizza on the island. We came back for seconds the next day and there was an issue with with us ordering the same thing... they informed us that each person had to order their own pizza and beer in order to eat at the restaurant. One pizza was sufficient for us considering we had been munching all day and it was now 10pm... (also let me add that we waited 30 min to get a table which was no issue since we had just walked 45 minutes to eat here) after a discussion, the manager explained everything to us and let us stay. The pizza was amazing again, just keep this in mind as the experience of almost being kicked out ruined my husbands meal (he was a bit embarrassed and just wanted to leave.) Quality was great though, unfortunate that we had to go through that little discussion. The manager however was kind enough to explain why this rule was in place and tried to make up for the confusion. I would still chose this pizza over all the other tourist places in town. I kind of expected something different in terms of the margherita pizza (like globs of mozzerella and basil leaves, how I was told they do it), but it was decent all the same. My gnocchi on the other hand was phenomenal. It was the special of the day, soft and pillowy gnocchi paired with halved tomatoes and sauteed with (small) shrimp (I'm guessing shrimp ain't pumped up on hormones like they are in the States) and thinly sliced zucchini. This place apparently underwent a rework of their menu and restaurant within the past year or so. I don't know what it was like before, but it came highly recommended during our trip this July. We almost let it go because of the Yelp reviews and I'm glad we didn't. This was our favorite place to eat in Venice, and probably overall throughout our tour of Italy. We ate here several times and each time was better than the last. It was close to our hotel and a nice break from pasta, fish, and red sauces. They have a very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and everything we tried was delicious!! It's an especially great place if you want a really, really scrumptious burger. Excellent pizza too. This place was full of Italian kids when we were there, and then larger groups of older folks came in after that. Me and my spouse were there very late though (we learned we might eat like Italians - much later in the evening than your typical 6-7 dinner in the US). I'm not sure it's fair to call this a tourist trap - I think that term is unfairly abused when places aren't "out of the way" and hard to get to - or are packed with American tourists because they all eat earlier in the evening - this is down the street from the train station and perfectly good. We were there a few times, because it was convenient and the food was actually quite good. After an exhausting day of touring, it's nice to "know" a good place when you just need food. Yes, I had a cheeseburger. In my defense, I'd been very adventurous all vacation and just wanted a burger. The fries are actually potato wedges. It was all so good. The cheese on the burger was delicious. In our times going here, we also had a very fresh and delicious caprese salad that was actually served in a bowl of lettuces. We also had a D.O.P. pizza that was excellent, and a pasta with fresh burrata. That meal was dynamite. The service was FINE. These are nice people who are probably crazy busy and deal with large crowds regularly. They recognized us, and acknowledged that they did, when we came back and for some reason that surprised and delighted me. Maybe because it was late in a long trip and we were tired. I didn't expect anyone to fall all over themselves just because I'm American or a customer or whatever reason people get annoyed with servers. They accommodated every request and were truly patient and even kind when the rest of my family decided to filter in and join us. 10 people total. I appreciate how welcome and comfortable they made us feel. My whole family continued to eat there periodically during our stay because it was fast, reasonably priced, they'd been decent to us all, and the food was good quality. We had the English breakfast(eggs, bacon, bean tomato sauce,and toast) and the omelette vegetariana (An egg omelet with veggies and toast). Both dishes were warm and good. I didn't experience bad service as other reviewers have, and I'm an American as well. Some of the comments left don't seem quite appropriate. First, service in Italian restaurants is generally slower. Not because it's bad, but because they actually enjoy the experience of eating food, and they are not expected to just turn tables. In many restaurants, if you make a reservation, the table is yours all night. No one will rush you out. As to the uncut pizza and raw sausage, that is how most places in Italy serve it, so either explain to the waiter exactly what you want in Italian, or don't complain. OK, now the actual review. Food is mediocre at best. Typical tourist trap on the main drag of any town. So if you expect excellence, keep walking. read more

Pretty basic. French toast is not what I expected, like toast that I forgot about and tried to eat it cold... and they put way too much syrup on EVERYTHING.
