Tonight my husband and I ordered McDonald's for delivery and two parts of our order was messed up. I called and they instantly fixed the issue and were really sweet and added in a large fry and a pie for the trouble. They didn't have to go above and beyond but they did and we really appreciated it. I think people need to remember we are all humans and we make mistakes it matters how we go about fixing our mistake and a little kindness goes along way. This is my 65th check-in! Wow! I ordered through the mobile app as usual and redeemed my $8 20-piece Chicken McNuggets, while Raul ordered his favorite chicken wraps. Andrea also placed her order through the mobile app. As always, the drive-thru experience here was great. Everything was quick and the person taking our order was pleasant and welcomed us back when we went for a second round through the drive thru. I especially love this location because it's open 24 hours. It's becoming increasingly rare to find restaurants and other places that operate around the clock, so for someone like me who's always up at night, having a 24-hour restaurant nearby is incredibly valuable. Great dine-in experiences as the drive thru lines are always long. Quick service both touch screen ordering and with a cashier. 99% of the menu was available except for some specialty coffee beverages. Food was prepared correctly and in a timely manner. Dinner in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii... Would you drive 30 minutes in the freezing cold (64°F in Hawaii) to get a Happy Meal toy? I had been calling many McDonald's locations to ask which Squishmallow toys they had. Most places knew "the codes" on the packages. Some locations, like Wahiawa, didn't answer their phone. Those are the ones that I had to visit. My friend, Angel, was searching for "J" and "I". I just needed "I". I drove about 15 miles to see if they had any of those two codes... Close to the worst service ever! Seeing a huge drive-through line and only a few people in the restaurant, I decided to park and go inside. It is understandable that the focus was on clearing the drive-through, but the only register manned (by a "Trainer") had a sign that it stated the register was dedicated to the drive through. My eyesight is not fantastic and, coupled with being a senior citizen, the kiosk experience is not very easy for me to manage. But that was my only in-restaurant option. (Twice I tried to ask the "Trainer" if I had to use the kiosk and she simply ignored me ... granted, she was handling the drive-through customers, but she could have taken a second to recognize the human in front of her. I guess McDonald's focuses on training new hires to have total indifference to the customer.) It took me over ten minutes to navigate the kiosk .. for two items (burger and pie). Of course, that drive-through line had cleared at least two times while I was struggling to place my order. After completing my order, I waited another ten minutes for my number to be called, watching cars come and go and even seeing the "Trainer" finally have a few moments to catch her breath when the line disappeared. I gave up and left. If you want customer service, skip this location. Ditto if you are interested in sitting in the restaurant to eat. However, if you are uninterested in interacting with another human and happily sit in your car in order to place and receive your order, then you should be happy to know that you are the exact customer this location wants to serve. Errrrr, excuse me, obviously not serve because that is clearly not in their ethos .... instead, let's just say you are the precise customer that they want to have little to no interaction with other than through a remote voice followed by a swipe of your card (if you are that archaic) and a handing over of your order (cool - look at that, they have yet to totally eradicate the need for an actual human to complete your order!). read more

Wahiawa McDonald's is always busy but there staff here is top notch. They work to get your food to you quickly and accurately. Hubby and I stopped for lunch after my flight home. I ordered the QPC and Grandma McFlurry on the Kiosk. John ordered the Bacon Cajun Ranch Deluxe Meal with Fudge Sundae. Both meals were hot and served as ordered. We did Table Service so we can enjoy ourselves. The maintenance man was ensuring that the lobby and restrooms were clean. Just a good dining experience overall today. read more

Buyer Beware. Do NOT use the app and check your food before you leave. The app does not allow to issue refunds for missing items in your order. You have to go to the store and wait for a manager. All has to be done within 30 minutes of receiving your order. If no manager, you are SOL. They missed half my order and I didnt open till I got home. This has happened not once or twice but plenty times and cannot get refunded. How much money are they making off this with missing portion of order that people paid for. I absolutely despise this place. I've written a one star review in the past, and attempted to give this location a chance at redemption. They did NOT fail to disappoint me again. They got my order wrong when I got to the first drive thru window to pay. Not a real problem- I corrected it with the cashier and everything was fine. Of course I had to park in a stall and wait because the food is never ready when you get to the window. That's not the worst part though, because when they finally brought the food to my car, it was a completely different order from what I asked for at the drive through. The had the CORRECT sticker on my bag, but still somehow gave me a completely different order. No one here pays attention. No one here cares. Management sucks. Service sucks. Ambiance sucks. The management here is a joke...curbside takes 20-30 minutes with nary an apology. The last couple of times at the 30 minute mark I had to walk in and saw all the employees hanging out and joking around. Today they told me they were missing items due to machines being broken, perfect. Told I was being refunded, waited for the worker to come back and nothing. Left and called the location. The manager laughed and said it was my fault for leaving but could come back for a refund. I'm not sure what happened since a few months ago, as it used to not be so bad, but the past two times I've gone to this location, I've been made to wait in a stall for my food from the drive-thru for ridiculously long periods. The time before last, I waited for an hour before just walking in to get a refund, and discovered that customer traffic was low and there were a lot of employees present, so I have no idea what the issue was. Both times I ordered online about 20 minutes before arriving, but by the time I get to the window, my food is never ready. And not that this isn't typical of nearly every McDonald's, but recently this one is getting orders wrong more frequently as well. A few weeks ago we got a raw hashbrown and they forgot the sausage for my hot cakes and sausage platter. Lunch/dinner is never an issue as long as you check the bag before you drive away. I must say they move the drive thru line pretty quick. This location is the closest to/from work. The convenience when you are craving the sausage egg mcmuffin, hashbrown, large black coffee, I'd just drive here in and out. It can get busy sometimes but I never have to bring lotsa patience with me because like I said, they move the line quick. One more time, they move their drive thru line fast. If you go to McDonalds often, download their app, you can order thru the app and earn rewards. Also, ensure you keep checking their app, the got good deals like buy any get 1 large fries. No complaints here for me since I hate even places are loaded with people. This rating is specifically for my visit today. I blame the crew on duty because this location usually has great service and consistent food quality. Not today. It's 2-19-18 and my receipt shows a time stamp of 4:39 pm. I ordered 2 Mac Jr's, 2 qtr pounders, 20 piece nuggets, and 2 large drinks. 1 star because of the following: -The chicken nuggets were not fresh. On our way to Laniakea Beach for green turtle spotting, we stopped by the Wahiawa McDonald's on S Kamehameha Hwy, eager to try the Taro Pie. This particular McDonald's is crowded, but traffic comes and goes quickly. Originally we only came for the Taro Pie, but eventually ordered an additional Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich and Saimin (細麵), a local favorite noodle soup in Hawaii. I initially had no idea what Saimin was until it was placed on our tray! - Saimin: A cute cup of Japanese ramen/Chinese mein/Filipino pancit soup dish garnished with char siu, nori and kamaboko. It tasted a bit salty, but I was fascinated with this item on the McDonald's menu. - Taro Pie (2 per order): Very dense and starchy. A bit bland, not as sweet as the Apple Pie. I think I am use to the Apple Pie taste, so didn't prefer this pie as much. But do give it a try if you haven't had it! - Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich: tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the out, McDonald's has got their buttermilk chicken down right. Topped with lettuce, mayo, and tomatoes. We enjoyed our quick pit-stop at McDonald's. The staff were polite among the busy customers and restaurant was clean.
