So today we went to a birthday party in whitmore, On the way home after the party my wife asked if I like go Shiges for dinner. I was like okay so we went was kind of busy so I told her take out we can eat at home. I usually get the saimin, the Teri sticks, and the burger, but instead I got the hamburger steak my wife and my boy go the saimin. From high school days till now the food is the same, fricken delicious only thing I did wrong is I never ordered a side Mac salad

Never ever, ever fails This is still one of my favorite places, it's a must! We got the small and large saimin, cheeseburger deluxe, Teri beef burger deluxe, and a large fruit punch. If you haven't tried the fruit punch while visiting Hawaii, you're missing out! Everyone's always so friendly, even if they're super busy.

Recently stopped by Shige's Saimin Stand and had a great experience. Parking was limited, but we fortunately managed to find a spot nearby. Heads up, there are two entrances: the left side is for dine-in and the right side is for takeout. We were seated quickly, and after placing our order, the food came out within just a few minutes. Large Wonton Mein (5/5): A super comforting bowl that combined classic saimin with wontons. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, from the chewy noodles to the light, savory broth and juicy wontons. It also comes with a side of hot mustard that has a surprisingly strong wasabi-like kick if you want extra heat. Cheeseburger (3/5): Apparently one of their popular items, but it didn't stand out much to me. The beef itself was savory and tender, though the rest felt fairly standard and a bit overpriced for what was included. Overall, a great local spot for comforting saimin, and I'm glad we stopped by to try it out.

Great friendly service, old school vibes, and ono saimin and hamburger deluxe. Homemade patties charred goodness. Buns are pillowy soft. We always get the vegetable saimin which has lots of veggies and delicious soup woth in-house made noodles.

The Saimin is the absolute star of the show and the 25 minute wait for dining in is worth the wait. The Saimin noodle is homemade and the broth makes it the best on the island and worth the drive. The Teri beef stick was average and the cheeseburger soft and a bit sweet but without a doubt nothing beats what they're famous for. The ambiance is "old school" which I like. And the staff is awesome! I'm so stuffed and I will be going back for sure. Parking is challenging during lunch hours.

Shige's is a classic, and rightfully so. You'll feel right at home with the nostalgic aesthetic of this local favorite. My boyfriend and I made the rookie mistake of driving all the way to Wahiawā before checking the business's instagram. They were closed our first attempt. Luckily, we got to enjoy Shige's once they reopened on 1/6. Make sure to check their instagram to avoid our mistake! My boyfriend absolutely inhaled his deluxe cheeseburger. The bun is buttery and slightly sweet, which complements the more salty, fatty beef patty. The American cheese brings everything together. The burgers are simple, humble yet delicious. The wonton mein costs a bit more than the Saimin, but it's worth it! I could tell each wonton was handmade. The broth for both the Saimin and wonton mein was divine. Delightfully garlicky chicken broth paired perfectly with hot mustard and black pepper. I'm getting a food coma just writing this review. Competitively priced. You can order 4 things for less than $40! Customer service was the cherry on top. The auntie who served us was super efficient, sweet and hardworking. Felt at home here. Highly recommended supporting this business!

Conversation with my friend who was visiting from CA, we brought up Shige's Saimin Stand, hoping she gets to visit while she was here. I happen to drive past Shige's on our way to the North Shore and it has been awhile for my Shige's fix, wish it wasn't so far from me. Stopped in for take out, order at the door, there's a table in front instead of walking in to restaurant, name will be called once its done, despite the staff hearing my order wrong or my bad it could be my fault, I wanted fried saimin and not saimin, all good. It was fixed and ready to be enjoyed. My take out order for this visit, fried saimin ( only comes in one size) with added veggies ($1.50 extra) side broth and tuna melt. The prices did go out since my intial review but this is the normal nowadays. The tuna melt was great but a little on the oily side. I killed 2 birds with one stone having fried saimin, then tsukemen style, and did made it saimin style with the side broth. hehe. It sure hit the spot. I can't wait for the next visit out to Wahiawa again.

Shiges saimin in wahiawa IS THE SPOT! Let me tell you that the large saimin and BBQ cheeseburger has a unique and tasteful flavor that you won't get anywhere else! The service and friendly staff also tops it all off! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants some good local food! Ps. Right door is takeout and going through the left door is dine-in/there's a bathroom through the double door: after walking in the double door on the left side of restaurant, it will be to your right!

Update again on Shige's Saimin Stand today I had lunch and I ordered their Hamburger Steak . Fresh 2x Hamburger patty along with onions and brown gravy. Comes with Mac salad or toss with corn and 2 scoop rice . Service is always fast and friendly. Support local

We always crave a bowl or plate of Simon when we come to Hawaii. Shige's stand did not disappoint. Ordered both the soup and fried versions as well as appetizers. All of them were delicious. Even though there's a wait, I recommend stopping by if you have time. Kids loved them too! The staff were very welcoming and wonderful to the keiki

We were in Wahiawa and decided since we were up there to grab a bite for dinner at Shige's Saimin. We both ordered the large wonton min and a Teri beef sandwich, the Saimin broth is always good and tasty and they make their own Saimin noodles which are flat which it is different but good. Also the wonton is solid not loose filling which gives it a good texture to the wonton. The Teri beef is well marinated and tender and is very flavorful, but can be a little messy if they put too much mayonnaise and sauce on. It has been a local family own restaurant for years and always busy so if you go during the lunch hour expect to wait for a table. They have parking but it is shared by other businesses. They have a restroom in the kitchen area, make sure to lock the door when you are in side.

Considering how I wasn't able to make it here during either of my last couple of trips to Hawaii, I was pretty excited to finally make my way to the Dole Plantation. However, I have to admit that what got me even more excited about driving out here was knowing that we were also going to be stopping off at Shige's Saimin Stand! While I actually have no idea how I first came across them, what I do know is that they've been on my list of bookmarks for years, so I was stoked to finally check them out! And, of course, to get my first legit bowl of saimin! With the way the complex is oriented relative to the street (it's almost perpendicular, like an alley), Shige's Saimin Stand isn't visible from the main drag through Wahiawa (there's a small sign right by the parking lot's entrance. However, that also adds to their mom-and-pop/hole-in-the-wall vibe. Inside, this place feels like a throwback to another time, especially with its mildly dated decor and old school letter board menu. Listed on it, though, they've got a smattering of offerings, from their signature saimin, udon, and wonton noodle bowls to a collection of burgers, sandwiches, Hawaiian lunch plates, and sides. Simple, but no less appealing! -- SPAM MUSUBI...$2.50 All in all, this was pretty solid. Not only was this pretty big for the money, but the cut of SPAM was fairly thick and the rice was soft and moist. I just wish the SPAM had a bit more sauce on it! -- SAIMIN NOODLE SOUP...$8.95 (small) Exactly what we came here for and it didn't disappoint. Although the broth was a bit salty, I liked that there was a good amount of char siu, ham, fish cake, and ribbons of eggs, all of which may have added to the saltiness. As for the noodles, they had a nice bite to them. -- MINI TERIYAKI BEEF PLATE...$10.75 Admittedly, this didn't appear all that impressive, but it tasted better than it looked. The beef was thin-ish yet very tender and I liked that it wasn't drowning in sauce. As for the mac salad, it was great - not too heavy on the mayo and quite flavorful! Even though nothing specific that we tried blew us away, two other aspects of Shige's did - how friendly everyone was and how reasonable the prices are. The latter was particularly impressive because, even in the Bay Area, the food here would still qualify as relatively cheap. Too bad we weren't able to really take advantage of that to try more food, though. I especially wish we had been able to get one of their burgers, as the photos of them on Yelp remind of the old school, no frills ones I grew up eating. If nothing else, I'm that much more incentivized to come back for another cozy, homely meal!

I don't know if chicken is imported to the island or what, but the price is CRAZY high.... I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was actually really good, BUT that wrap was so small. Of course they cut it in half, but each half was tiny. There's no way that was even a full 6-inch wrap before they cut it. Still stuffed and flavorful, just disappointing on the portion size. The French fries though? Really really good. I had them with my wrap and I enjoyed them a lot. Didn't get a pickle though, and I didn't even realize it was supposed to come with one until I came back the next day... I wish I had gotten that. The bartender was nice--it was a guy. Not super friendly, but cool enough. Now the bathroom... ATROCIOUS. I hated it. Didn't even want to touch anything. Yikes. But other than that, I do like the place!
