I have had several opportunities recently to have my car worked on by McFarland Ford, and in each instance they have gone out of their way to help me, provided excellent and prompt service and at extremely reasonable prices. First time was the body shop after I was sideswiped. The guy got me from stem to stern. After getting my car back, it looks better than new and they matched it perfectly. The second was a battery which reached the end of its' life rather unexpectedly and of course the day before I had to drive a significant distance for work and could not be late. They got me in that day, replaced my battery and some belt (don't recall which), and had me back on the road in less then 2 hours and at a much lower cost than I anticipated. As a real plus, I have been treated with respect by the service department and spoken to like I actually understand what they are saying, which is rare when you are a woman. Just purchased a 2013 MKZ Hybrid. Since I live near Exeter, NH, I decided to get it serviced at McFarland Ford in Exeter. I had purchased an MKZ there in 2011 and only serviced it there sporadically. However, the 2013 was giving me some warning lights so I decided to have a dealer diagnose and possibly fix any issues. I walked into the service department and went to one of the [two] guys manning the desks. I mentioned my name, indicated that I had just purchased (from another dealer) a 2013 MKZ Hybrid and that some warning lights were on and that I wanted them looked at. The service guy pulled up my profile, shook his head, and told me that the car had been there before and that the problem was an ABS module issue and that that model of MKZ was prone to that issue. (Funny, they didn't tell me that when I purchased it). His tone was, in my opinion, dismissive and unprofessional (and unhelpful)! I found this to be surprising since I had never brought the 2013 into their dealership and the ABS light was NOT one of the lights that illuminated on my 2013 Hybrid. I expressed my surprise and described the issue AGAIN with the car. He then looked again and realized that he had looked at the record for my previous MKZ. He was obviously not listening to me when I first described the issue on the 2013. He was not in the least interested in servicing my newer car or entering any information about the newer car into their records. I even asked him to then put my newer car into the system and asked if it was eligible for their rewards program. Neither he nor the other fellow had any idea to what I was referring. The other guy then indicated that FORD had forced their dealership into a rewards program years ago but that the dealership had successfully quashed it after only a year. All this along with the two men's [in my opinion] lazy attitudes, was enough for me to leave and vow never to have my automobiles serviced at McFarland Ford again. These people just didn't seem interested in helping me AT ALL. I would NOT RECOMMEND this service department to anyone. read more

Great experience! Just bought my second truck from McFarland Ford and the sales experience couldn't have been any better. Chris patiently walked me through all my options and helped me order exactly the vehicle I wanted. He provided regular status updates as the truck was being built, shipped and eventually delivered. We agreed on (great) pricing up front and there were no surprises when it came time to deal with all the paperwork. Horrible! Don't go there! We bought a car there 1 1/2 years ago and it's caused us nothing but headache! Rot showed almost immediately....on every bit of the car. Warranty was a joke...didn't help us with any of our problems. It was just a waste of money. When we called to let them know we were disappointed their answer was to bring the car back and buy another used car from them....I don't think so!!!! We won't be using them again! read more

Good deals and friendly sales people - I had a positive car buying experience at McFarland Ford. They had a good selection of used SUV's to choose from and I finally went with a 2006 Ford Explorer - Eddie Bauer edition. I did my research and I got a fantastic deal on the car and still bring it in for service. All in all I had positive experience at McFarland Ford and will certainly return there when I look to buy a new Ford. read more
