Saturday night 7pm 2 diners. Seated fast in a booth next to the water. I had the steak & cake special. Every part was perfect. Love the new broiled crab cake recipe. Corn bread was moist and fresh. Well we arrived here it was at 11am and that is when the place opens so I figured we should have no issues. Boy was I wrong. We were seated fast and we were the only people in the restaurant and it still took them 14 minutes to come to the table to take our drink order and food order. We were here on Tuesday which is half price Burger day and we ordered our burgers with bacon and we order an appetizer we waited 15 minutes for the food to come out once it came out it was no appetizer or just the food I asked where the appetizer was he apologized and said he'll get one right out I told me she'd be for half price he said he would see what he could do. When the food came out one of the orders of missing bacon the other order have bacon but it was ice cold I thought but when I ask for a manager when the manager came out I explained him about the bacon I asked him if it was fresh and just made he says no they cook the bacon early in the morning and let it sit I think that is a ridiculous when you order something it should be cooked fresh The hamburger was really good but the rest of the food not so good I do not recommend this restaurant service is super slow and they don't seem to care also if you happen to be sitting by the window and it's slow the way to sit and look at you the whole time you're there and talk to each other instead of doing your job read more

This place used to be pretty good. The forst couple times the food was good and the service very good. The service is still OK, but the food was really sub par. I have been there 5 times in all, and the food just kept getting worse. The biggest problem (outside the food) was the NOISE! it was so loud I could not hear myself think, much less talk to my dinner companions. Happy hour is fine. Not my first choice anymore. read more

My coworkers and I went here for a 21st birthday party. The food was very good. I only prdered fries but everyone else raved about their burgers, wraps, etc. The drinks were very watered down, though. I understand they are renting the place but I would have gladly spent another dollar or two per drink for some stronger Captain and cokes. We went there for a late lunch/early dinner. I had the ahi tuna salad. IT WAS WONDERFUL and I would highly recommend it! I was even given a choice of how I wanted my tuna cooked. Had the situation been handled better, I would not be posting this review. Last night my wife and I visited McGlynn's for the first time. I went up to the bar and ordered a beer for myself, and a beer for her, and sat back down in our booth. When I was finished my beer, I took a sip of her about half finished beer, and realized it wasn't the original beer she had ordered. I took it back to the bar, and told the bartender (a young black guy with a mustache) it wasn't the correct beer. He laughs at me and says, "I guess that beer had kicked and whatever was after it was what you got. Guess your next beer is on me than. What would you like?". I order another beer and walk away with it. When I go to close out our tab, I realized we had been charged for three beers. I ask the bartender about it and he goes to get his manager (a young Asian woman with smudged eyeshadow or eyeliner). She comes over and says something accusatory along the lines of "I heard you don't want to pay for a beer you already drank." This is when I get really pissed off. I tell her the above story. ALSO adding that her idiot bartender LIED to my face because the original beer we had asked for was in a BOTTLE not on draft. Without saying a word to me, she refunds us and only has us pay for the first beer. I've been in the service industry for years, so let me help you out with some advice on how that situation should have been handled... Bartender - "I apologize, I must have misunderstood you/gotten a little confused, here's a new beer." Easy. Manager - "I'm so sorry that happened miss, let me take care of those beers for you." Simple. Every time I ordered a beer, the bartender told me every single time that they were either out, or he would have a busser go back and try to find it. Which took about ten minutes each time. Another word of advice. Stock your bar. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Went there to enjoy my yearly drinking on the day before thanksgiving and when I tell you I was ready to order my usual beers. I was dressed and ready but for the first time ever I would love to say I was giving poor service but I'm sad to say I was given no service at all because while I was waiting for someone to greet me with a smile I was forced to wait 10-15 mins while the bartender finished texting her friends on her phone. When I tell you from the time of 8pm-9:23pm on Wednesday 25th 2020 this girl literally was face down in her phone and I thought maybe she was looking up recipes nope my girl walked by her and seen that she was just texting texting texting. I've never had such a bad time. Being a business manager taught me that the last thing someone wants to see is you texting and standing and leaning up against walls with your feet kicked up. I mean she had no care in the world and when I did get my drink it was served to me like a bad hair cut HERE YOU GO BOOM NEXT CUSTOMER PLEASE. but maybe she just helps ppl out she know because the gentleman six feet away from me, who were allowed to stand up with no mask and just kept bragging about how much drinks they didn't pay for. So in return I will not be coming back until you guys find some better bartenders----- if I could give them a negative star I would TERRIBLE SERVICE BUT More like NO SERVICE AT ALL.....Smh read more

Ate here last nigt for the 3rd and last time over the course of about 2 years . Simply put, the food is lousy. Had the Ahi Tuna sandwich this time which was extremely dry (overcooked) and appeared to had been previously frozen. Came with cold soggy fries which they happily replaced with warm fries (still not great). The only good thing about the place is the nice beer selection. Went for lunch and ordered the 1/2 lb burger and chicken pesto sandwich. Burgers were 1/2 price on Tuesday. Food arrived barely warm. The burger tasted almost rubbery, cooked to medium as requested, but texture was just weird. Very skimpy piece of chicken on the sandwich. Our waitress was accommodating, replacing our cool sides for fresher, hotter ones. Nice water view did not make up for problems in the kitchen. The atmosphere is nice. They seated us very quickly each night we were there. Our waitress was friendly. However, she was less than very attentive. Took forever to receive our drinks and any refills. I am not sure if it was the waitress or the bartender, but that just signals a staffing problem. The Stuffed Burger was outstanding the 1st night we went. It was cooked perfectly, rare and juicy. The 2nd night however, I ordered the Fried Oyster Po Boy. I received a LARGE roll with 4 fried oysters, 2 tomato slices, a big leaf of lettuce and a smattering of spicy mayo. hardly any taste of the featured ingredient. Another member of our party ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. She got 1 chicken tender slightly shredded. After a complaint, she received a 2nd small tender slightly shredded. By that time, she had lost all craving for the meal and didn't even bother with the "doggy bag". The saving grace for this night was the reduced price on "imported" or "craft" beers.The 3rd night was Prime Rib night. The portion was fine, however, I ordered "rare" and got medium. The meat all though over done was still tasty enough to eat. I rarely send things back, I've seen too many "restaurant nightmare" shows. Why 3 times to the same place you ask? I was out voted by the group on the choice of venue. I would suggest going to McGlynn's for the drink and MAYBE an appetizer. read more

I ordered the special, the seafood boil. I took it to go. I was very disappointed. The shrimp, clams and crab were over cooked. The potatoes undercooked. They forgot the corn. There wasn't any type of seasoning. The only thing I tasted was sand. Gritty, nasty sand in everything. A good handful of it. I am staying in a hotel and I had to take out each piece of my dinner and wash it in cool water (already over cooked). They did remember to pack butter and cocktail sauce. Great place to eat at.. Lovely waterfront view with delicious food and great daily specials. Awesome burgers ! One downside is that the service is lacking in the daytime. We stood at the host booth for 6 minutes because of the confusion with the 2 signs. Eventually, we went to the bartender and she told us to sit wherever we liked. Because we liked the view, we sat at a booth close to the window. As we patiently waited for a waitress to take our drink order, no one was coming to assist us. Other servers noticed us but didn't come to the table instead they ignored us. A few ants were on the table so we had to switch from booth to table, Someone finally came and claimed she didn't see us in her section. This pub may have good beer prices at times, but the thing that irks me is that they claim to have karaoke on Tuesdays, but it's mostly just a DJ playing music, with occasional singers allowed to do a song. My friend and i went in to sing. The guy waited for more singers, which i understand, but then he would waste time between singers, and when the so-called 2nd round was going to start (after we each sang one song and there were 3 other singers), then he went off while we listened to about 5 full songs. Then he returned and still played more songs while apparently searching for something. Finally he got the guy before us up, and then we finally sang. We had been there about two hours, with a total of 5 singers, and it took that long to sing a 2nd song. They need to make up their mind, either be a DJ (and not waste singers' time) or be a real karaoke show! Even if we lived there, we would never come back. read more

The two appetizers we had were pretty good, but the service did not make us feel like staying for another drink. We found this restaurant last year, while traveling through. It was delicious but the service was a bit slow. No problem, I thought when we were traveling through again. This restaurant has seriously gone down hill. My chicken sandwich was rubbery, the bacon was very fatty and the bun was soggy. My husband's ruben was made with low quality meat and my kids' chicken fingers came with only two chicken fingers and cold fries. My wife and I went here for the first time last night and had dinner with my in-laws. The food was excellent (I had the Elvis burger, which is a cheeseburger plus bacon, bananas, and peanut butter.), our server was great, and the place was clean and comfortable. It has a patio area with a nice view of the water, and from what I could tell, the bar nice. I will definitely be back here to watch football with my brother-in-law, as it is the halfway point between our house and his, and I definitely recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't already tried it. read more

Today my wife and I stopped at McGlynn's for lunch, we were initially attracted by the setting of the restaurant next to Silver Lake. We ordered the "Keep It Simple Sunday" special roast beef sandwich which comes with a domestic draft beer for $8.99. I ordered a imported draft so mine was an additional $2.00 which was as advertised. My wife ordered a domestic beer and was served a bottled beer so she was charged $8.99 plus $3.49 for a bottled beer, she told the waitress but no adjustment was made to our check. The roast beef sandwiches were pretty good but the fries were almost cold and limp, the quality of the fries are the same as the frozen you would get at your local supermarket. Before we left the restaurant we both used the restrooms, I was in the men's room when one of the kitchen workers (he was wearing a apron) came in and used the bathroom, after using the toilet he started to walk out of the bathroom without washing his hands until he saw me looking at him and then he turned around and did a quick hand wash. The overall appearance of the restaurant did not look very clean, the floor around our table was very dirty. Will probably never eat here again!!! read more

I can say I DO enjoy McGlynn's. But....only maybe once or twice every 6 months or so. I really like the nights they have 1/2 price burgers. Its an awesome deal and they are delicious. .... probably would have rated it higher if the staff/servers didn't act so stuck up and snoody. I know that there is a fairly large bar in there, but from my understanding it is still a family restaurant. Both times I've brought my daughter, I felt like our server was annoyed and inconvenienced that she had to go a little extra out of her way to get extra napkins or more ketchup for your table...(instead of hovering over the bar giggling with all the gentlemen) that's tge bartenders job! *facial expressions* do get seen, even if you think they didn't. As a server myself, trust me... I know how it is. But I also know that if you want to get the tip you deserve and genuinely probably are counting on to either: a) buy yourself as many shots as you can when you get off to make up for having to wait tables! b) are needing to make rent b4 your kicked out....or c) I don't really care what you do with it... JUST DO THE JOB OF A WAITRESS ... you are there to take care of guest! Suck it up or get a new occupation... Sorry to be harsh. .. but it was just maybe 30 feet to the kitchen to get a little girl some ketchup for her yummy hamburger.. Besides allllll that... food is great. .
