This was my first time ever dealing with a dealership when it comes to making a motorcycle purchase! I applied online for a loan Tuesday and instantly for approved! Shawn contacted me the next day, I knew what bike I was looking for a "iron883" and we went over numbers and got everything situated for my appointment a Saturday morning. Shawn was very informative on what was needed and answered all my questions that I had with no hesitation. Was able to make my deposit over the phone, so that they can get the bike off the showroom floor for prep! Also did I mention that Shawn called to ask if I wanted a 2015 with 2015 wheels or 2015 with 2016 wheels "slight difference in machining and weight" I opted for the 2015 with 2016 wheels! Great customer service to even give me the choice!! Friday comes, and I figured out I couldn't make it Saturday due to work, so I called Shawn on his day off and asked if it was okay! A+ customer service because he still reached out to me on his day off. He got me situated with his co-worker Owen and I was set up for a 4pm appointment. I arrive at the dealer at 4:15pm. Went through the walkthrough of the bike with Ryan, and signed paperwork with Owen. The process was smooth and no hassle, I was out of there by 5:30pm! They let me park my car there overnight, which was great!! Also, Ryan hooked me up with a free detail spray for the black denim paint and Owen hooked me up with a t-shirt!! Just bought my second bike from Ryan and had another amazing experience. Price was fair, they do what they can to make a good deal, and don't push you. He was able to alter the bike to get me what I wanted at a fair price, definitely went above and beyond again. Weather and some mods kept me from picking up the bike right away so I went in to look at accessories/gear and was greeted by my first name from a one of the guys in the garage to see if I'd like to see my bike nearly completed. He saw me in the store and went out of his way to offer 5 star service, it's a small thing but reveals a lot. Pam in the gear shop was extremely helpful and nice as well. Customer service here was non-existent. Wandered around at least ten minutes, never approached. A salesman walked past to another customer who had just entered without so much as a "hello". There were two girls at the kiosk where you purchase clothing etc.. When they were asked a question about a specific motorcycle, without looking up one of them pointed to the back wall of offices and said to ask the guy in the second office. As we headed that direction, he walked off. Left. Will not be back. Update-I am raising the number of stars because of my interaction with Ryan, the person in charge of customer service. He seemed to genuinely care about the problem and followed up later. That was really appreciated. read more

We have recently bought 3 bikes.. That's right 3! Thanks to Owen (who is probably the best salesman I've ever met, clearly.) What is not to love about this place? It's like the Disneyland of motorcycles. I first stepped in when my brother was picking up his bike and that's when Owen showed me the Street 500 with a "reach seat" for us 5'0 people who can't quite get our feet to touch the floor while on a motorcycle. Came back for it just 2 weeks later! Every single person I have had an encounter with at this location was very helpful and pleasant! The ladies by the clothing area also made sure any/all needs were met by ordering items that weren't in stock and even making sure my brothers helmet was fitting correctly. First, the store itself is quite nice. They have a decent selection of new bikes, and a so-so selection of used models. Overall, their used bikes are overpriced for what they are. You can definitely get a better deal on a used machine at the HD stores in Vacaville and Oakland. Their selection of clothing and accessories is pretty good, but again overpriced. Selling at MSRP is ok, I guess, but not when I can get the same legit HD products online from Surdyke for 20% less with no shipping or sales tax. They do have the "I can have it right now!!!" thing, so that keeps them in the running... Parts: The parts department is pretty solid. John is a great guy, and he and Damien (I think) seem to know their stuff. Again, everything is MSRP. Service: I brought my HD into the service department today for a 5,000 mile routine service. I shopped around. When I called McGuire a few days ago they told me it would be $430, and they would wash and detail the bike. They assured me I wouldn't find a better deal. I called Oakland HD as soon as I hung up with McGuire. $380 and they would also wash and detail it. I also checked with Tim at American Custom MC in Concord who was $275 (and who I should've gone to), but I'd miss out on the bath and detailing. I decided that in the interest of good record keeping and continuity, I would have a dealership to the major services so I could have it all documented in the even I decide to sell the bike. I called McGuire today and Rick said they could fit me in this morning, and the service for my bike is only $416, which is only $40 more than Oakland, and since Pacheco is closer and this is my local store, I figured I would give them a shot and support the local business. I brought my bike into the service department where I met Diego, who wrote the estimate at $436. When I questioned it, he said that "it might be less for your bike, I think it uses a quart less oil, but this is the standard price." Uh... ok? How about a real answer to the question. Not a big deal, but still, you should know what you're going to have to pay for a product or service when you're handing over your keys. ******EDITED****** So, I have since spoken with Brady, the service department manager. He apologized for the miscommunication about the detailing with the service, as there is none. Also, I was told that my riser bushings were bad, and that the bars were moving a bunch and needed replacing. After Brady and talked, I pulled the bars off again and to my surprise all 4 bolts on the risers were loose, which is most likely the source of movement in the bars. Not sure if they loosened them for any reason, but that was weird. I checked the bushings out, and they looked okay to me; no cracks or real signs of wear, but maybe I'm missing something? I put everything back together and torqued the riser bolts back down and everything seems tight, so we'll see. Also, Brady stated that the reason they are more expensive than Oakland is because they change the primary and trans fluids at the 5k service which most dealers don't. He's right that most places don't, but I called HD Oakland after the fact, and they change them both, too. read more

Today was the second time I came to this dealership and both times I was greeted from Tony Spinks from the sales department. I never had such a good customer service experience from any other dealership. This guy basically can answer all your questions and give his honest opinion and explained the differences between all the bikes. I sat down with him and throw a few numbers around and all were reasonable in my opinion. You kinda get the vibe he just doesn't want to rip you off. These guys were great. Took the bike in for a speaker issue and they replaced that. Inspected the bike and found my oil to be over full, the filter not properly seated, and the tires very low on air. Being new to a bike this big I just thought the heavy feel was normal. Problem is the tires were low and have been for the 2 months I owned it. Took it in to Dudley Perkins for an oil change a couple weeks ago because I was in the area and they never even bothered to check my tires, had a light out they failed to mention as well. Then to overfill the oil and not seat the filter is a little annoying McGuire took care of it all and it feels like a different bike. Handles the way smaller bikes handle. This place is great. The person i spoke with at parts was kind enough to explain to me about the electrical accessories in the catalog. About 70% of the floor is covered in bikes. All the accessories and clothing are located at the sides and corners. I don't plan on buying a bike soon but from a previous review I might have to check this place out once it is time for an upgrade Knowing that sales tax in that area is 8.5 % is even better. I came in told him what my limit was and yea, sure, it took about a week of back of forward negotiating, but we eventually settled on a very reasonable price that left me a happy new owner of my iron 883 sportster! So at first this sounds like a typical review but what separates them from other dealerships is the fact that I went to 2 other bike dealers (one which was a HD nearby) and McGuire's service was clearly better. They respect your intelligence and don't assume you are some ignorant buyer that they can take advantage of. Gave me a few free gifts (shirts, cleaners, keychains) And they even shipped the bike to my house that same day, which arrived just 10 minutes after I showed up to my house. I was thinking about trading in my '07 Street Bob. I emailed the dealership and Ryan answered back right away. He said pretty much that a deal was possible but maybe I should consider starting a collection? I thought it over and decided that that was a great idea! I've visited McGuire's several times to buy riding gear. The sales staff is very friendly and helpful without being overbearing trying to make a sale. They know when to provide assistance and when to give you space. I've also utilized the the service department for warranty work on my bike. Although there were some minor oversights with the repairs, when I brought attention to the issues they were addressed. I had an EXTREMELY positive experience at McGuire Harley-Davidson. Wanted to recognize the customer service of the dealership as a whole, but in particular Heidi from the sales team. A group of friends and I all intended to buy bikes together. Some trading in for an upgrade, some buying their first Harley. We visited in-person MANY Harley dealerships through NorCal and the surrounding Bay Area. We even inquired with some dealerships as far as Los Angeles to get the best deal. McGuire offered us the best deal, but that is not my motivation to write this review. It was the absolutely top-notch customer service we received (and are still receiving) from Heidi and her team that set McGuire apart. Best deal aside, it is sometimes worth it to do business with a dealership when they go above and beyond with customer service, so it was a bonus that McGuire also had the awesome pricing. It was extremely disappointing to walk into some of the other dealerships in the Bay Area and immediately get the sense that you are wasting the staff's time. I genuinely felt like McGuire cared about doing right by me as the customer. They were not the closest dealership to me by a long shot, but making the drive was worth it. This is my go to dealer for all things regarding my bike. I started my relationship with this dealership in 1997 when it was owned by Bill Chaney. In 2016 purchased a CVO Ultra Classic and traded in my 1997 Bad Boy. Without the great interaction from the service and sales staff would of probably walked away from a $45k bike purchase. I had recently retired and this was my dream bike for travel across the country. I'm hoping to continue my relationship over the coming years as I will need them to continue to honor the extended service contract that I purchased.
