I found my vet! From…read morethe moment we walked into Animal Hospital of University Drive, the office staff was warm and welcoming. The tech, Jamie, immediately put both me and my pup, Paddy, at ease. Paddy was nervous and hiding under a chair, but Jamie gently reassured him, promised she'd be back in a minute--and sure enough, she was right there. Before we knew it, his blood test, rabies vaccine, and other needed shots were done quickly and smoothly. Then Dr. Carl Ansara walked in--with a smile, jeans, and a T-shirt--completely unpretentious and instantly calming. He asked thoughtful questions, gently examined Paddy, complimented his haircut, and with a wink and a nod even "sanctioned" our next stop for Paddy--a snug nap after a McDonald's treat! It was also clear how much they truly love animals; Dr. Ansara and Jamie even shared stories about their own seven dogs. I couldn't have been more pleased. At the end of the visit, Dr. Ansara stepped out and returned with his personal cell number, saying if I ever needed him, not to hesitate to call. That level of care meant so much. The pricing was reasonable and fair, and the level of kindness and professionalism was outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carl Ansara and the entire staff at Animal Hospital of University Drive in Sunrise. So grateful--we've definitely found our vet!

**** I cannot…read moreexpress enough gratitude for the care, compassion, and kindness our family received from the entire team at Advanced Veterinary Care Center. We first brought our beloved Jack there about a month ago in a very serious condition. He was suffering from acute kidney problems in addition to advanced heart disease. The team treated him with extraordinary competence and care, and he improved enough to come home and spend three more precious weeks with our family. Those weeks meant more to us than words can describe. Unfortunately, we had to return when Jack went into severe congestive heart failure and was struggling to breathe. From the moment we arrived, everyone treated him with urgency, tenderness, and respect. They placed him in oxygen, tried to stabilize him, explained every detail honestly, and gave us the time and support we needed to face the most painful decision of our lives. Jack passed away there in my arms, exactly as I wanted: close to me, surrounded by love. My husband and our children were also able to be present and participate in saying goodbye. The staff created a peaceful, private, and loving environment for us. Even during such a heartbreaking moment, they were gentle, patient, compassionate, and deeply respectful of both Jack and our family. Today, they called to let me know that Jack's ashes had arrived and were ready to be picked up. That call brought all the pain back, but it also reminded me of how thoughtfully they cared for every part of this experience--from trying to save his life to helping us honor him after his passing. Jack was not "just a dog." He was our family, our companion, and one of the greatest loves of our lives. We will forever be grateful that, during his final moments, he was surrounded by people who understood how deeply he was loved. Thank you to every doctor, nurse, technician, and staff member who cared for Jack and supported our family. Your professionalism was exceptional, but it was your humanity, warmth, and compassion that we will never forget. Letizzia Bafile

Their website is user-friendly, making it very easy to book an appointment. Upon arriving, the front desk staff is nice and welcoming. My dog is a bit anxious so they were very gentle with her making her as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment. This made me feel comfortable knowing she was in great hands and care. At the end of the treatment, I was provided before, and after photos with the thorough assessment of her oral care, and how to help maintain her teeth clean. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you for taking care of our fur baby!

But he was younger then and I guess what worked then (using CBD) and music designed to help relax the dog did not work now. Luckily, a patient I was talking to (while Jasmine tried to evaluate my dog's mouth and behavior) mentioned that you could use their website and arrange for them to clean your dog's teeth at home albeit for $50 more than in the office. So after the in office thing did not work out, I rescheduled for an at home visit which I felt would be dramatically less stressful for my drama King of a Shiba Inu. Jasmine arrived and although we struggled with my CBD sedated dog, Jasmine persevered and largely due to her incredible commitment to her craft she was able to clean his teeth which were seriously overdue. I sat and watched and helped keep my overly anxious Shiba Inu as calm as possible so Jasmine could do what she needed to do and she did it incredibly well. I wish I had the pictures to add to my review but I forgot to ask for them before she left. I will call and ask and try to get them to add to this review. I highly recommend trying HealthySmiles Pet Dental and Jasmine. We cannot thank them both enough for their professional attitude and commitment both to their difficult job and our beloved pet who sees this entire process very differently than we do! Long story short, I cannot use enough positive comments to describe our overall experience with HealthySmiles Pet Dental and especially Jasmine.

Watching your pet suffer while staff act cold, dismissive, or unwilling to help is something no animal owner should ever experience. My dog was dying, and rather than stepping in to provide emergency care or even basic guidance, they made an already traumatic situation even worse. I understand hospitals can be busy, but a complete lack of empathy during a life-or-death emergency is unacceptable. I would never trust this place with another animal, and I strongly urge other pet owners to think twice before relying on them in a true emergency. This was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I will never forget how helpless and abandoned we were made to feel. I found another pet hospital in Davie, and by the time i got there it was too late to help my dog! STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD!!!

He said they didn't have the notes of his previous script. Fine, so I showed him the picture of the bottle that said "Tucker (dog)". And I showed him the automated visit notes that you get emailed to a visit showing that he's on trazodone. Makes sense, right? But not for Rashad. He said by showing him this proof that my dog was in these medicines I was being extremely condescending? What am I supposed to do, accept the fact that they didn't have it? He then said we need a doctor visit with the dog. I said why? It's not like dementia gets better. He replies "sir, I'm a certified medical professional" or something? Okay? Just because he woke up in the wrong side of the bed this morning doesn't have to make it any more stressful for someone dealing with a dementia dog. I waited an hour and never complained once. Marla (I think) was extremely nice at the receptionist and so was the doctor. This guy is one of those people that seems to take everything personal I guess. All I did was show the pill bottles and the visit summary!
