I had paperwork to fill out. I the office provided complimentary drinks in the lobby. After my paperwork work was completed I was able to go to the back to get a full scan of my mouth. It was in 3D with color. I was a bit skeptical because of my experience at sage dental but they said not to worry. After going over some of my goals for my smile I felt so relaxed. The dentist understood everything and answered all of my questions. After that I got to relax and watch my show on Netflix because they had TVs mounted on the ceiling while you get your cleaning done. Now the cleaning was such a peaceful moment. She cleaned my teeth with so much care. There were three flavors of toothpaste for the cleaning. I got to try the cinnamon and one other. Dr. Martin immediately came up with a plan to move the teeth to create spaces for implants. When the spaces opened up he attached Pontic teeth, so I wasn't left with giant gaps. Other orthodontics that I had talked to gave the option of shoving all my teeth together, which would have deformed my side profile and bite. Dr. Martin is the most accommodating and personable doctor I've known. His staff is the sweetest and is always apt to advocate for you. Several times they've made me retainers absolutely free. As soon as I got there, they told me they were running 30-60 minutes behind ... like okay, maybe call the patient beforehand? Do they not realize that people take time off work for appointments like this? At 11:15am I was brought back into my room, then they took x-rays which took about five minutes, and they left me by saying "someome will be with you shortly." Thirty minutes later, someone came by and told me the dentist would be right with me. Another 15 minutes passed, the dentist came by and looked at my x-rays, told me I had several cavities that needed to be filled or (painted?) over and I was recommended invisalign (I had braces before already). I was shocked and asked to see because I've never so much been told I have plaque. I'm no dental expert but I wasn't able to see anything beyond what I've been told is normal. She asked me if I had any questions and I asked if they were going to do fillings today. She told me no, that would be a separate appointment. They told me they'd give me quotes for everything (nearly $3k for fillings - again, I've never had them before so I don't know if this is normal for 2 fillings) and started ushering me out. I asked when they were doing the cleaning and was told that's a separate appointment again, but they could fit me in after lunch if I was willing to wait. I told them I waited enough ... I had been there 3 hours at this point and hadn't even gotten the one thing I booked. I would not go back and I made that clear. Later, they contacted me by texting "hey" and nothing else ... I texted back "who is this?" and they responded "Ideal Dental" and asked to book my next appointment. SO unprofessional.

Here's the correct one. " She said no. There was no further discussion on the subject as far as she was concerned. They DID bill the correct policy number and got back over $800 in fees I had already paid. They asked if I wanted the check sent to me. I said yes. That was November 2024. I was so happy to have an extra $800 or so for the holidays! No check in November. No check in December. No check in January. I even called twice to follow up, and both times they acted like they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. I just hung up...I don't get into back-and-forth with people who are clearly jacking me around. Then it occurred to me. I had a cleaning scheduled in February 2025, and they are SITTING ON that money till I come in to put it towards other services they tell me I need. They have you call from outside to get your temperature checked, and make sure you're wearing a mask prior to entering. There is spacing of lobby chairs to help maintain a safe distance- which is really great during COVID times. What was unfortunate was hearing a patient talking to the staff member at the front desk, whose was wearing her mask under her nose, and complaining about "Dr." Fauci and the fact that COVID deaths were being over-reported for doctors and hospitals to get more money. This went on and on as I looked at others sitting in the waiting room and we all shook our heads. Why have us go through the motions when you won't wear your mask properly and are going to be very vocal about how it's not a real thing? It was highly offensive as I know people who have passed because of COVID and it's highly unprofessional in a doctor's office. I was called to the back and the technician was wonderful. I vented to her and she was clearly unhappy with what they'd been saying. She let me know that she alerted Dr. Dann to this and he was going to address it. I really appreciated her. As I was leaving and passing another desk to pay, the woman at that desk was wearing her mask under her chin. She had it under her chin last time I was in the office too, but I figured I'd caught her at a bad moment, so I didn't think too much of it. Seeing her with it like that again was a bummer. Especially since the dental techs are in full PPE and all patients are wearing masks. I know we've all had to adjust to this time and I know wearing the mask for an extended period of time is not great, but I wear my mask to protect those around me and, in a doctor's office, I expect that same respect and not to have to hear someone's opinion on "*doctor*" Fauci (she said making parenthesis with her fingers).
