Today I had a wisdom tooth extraction with just local anesthesia done by Dr.Williams. I was not at all sure how it would go but couldn't afford to be put under for the procedure. From start to finish, I was in there under an hour! Dr.Williams and his assistant did not waste a second while I was laying there. I had no pain aside from the needle to numb me and the recovery is painful, as it is for anyone. I was very pleased with my experience today. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I scheduled a cleaning here for 10:30am. As soon as I got there, they told me they were running 30-60 minutes behind ... like okay, maybe call the patient beforehand? Do they not realize that people take time off work for appointments like this? At 11:15am I was brought back into my room, then they took x-rays which took about five minutes, and they left me by saying "someome will be with you shortly." Thirty minutes later, someone came by and told me the dentist would be right with me. Another 15 minutes passed, the dentist came by and looked at my x-rays, told me I had several cavities that needed to be filled or (painted?) over and I was recommended invisalign (I had braces before already). I was shocked and asked to see because I've never so much been told I have plaque. I'm no dental expert but I wasn't able to see anything beyond what I've been told is normal. She asked me if I had any questions and I asked if they were going to do fillings today. She told me no, that would be a separate appointment. They told me they'd give me quotes for everything (nearly $3k for fillings - again, I've never had them before so I don't know if this is normal for 2 fillings) and started ushering me out. I asked when they were doing the cleaning and was told that's a separate appointment again, but they could fit me in after lunch if I was willing to wait. I told them I waited enough ... I had been there 3 hours at this point and hadn't even gotten the one thing I booked. I would not go back and I made that clear. Later, they contacted me by texting "hey" and nothing else ... I texted back "who is this?" and they responded "Ideal Dental" and asked to book my next appointment. SO unprofessional. read more

After scouring lists of dental providers that are in network with my insurance, I decided to give Ideal Dental a try. I love that they are open on Saturdays because that means I don't have to take off work to see the dentist! I've been a patient at this location for roughly a year now after moving here from Tampa. I have visited this office 3-4 times for my regular cleanings, but, unfortunately, I do not believe I will be returning. My first visit was in December 2022, shortly after their grand opening. The office staff at the time appeared eager to help and were very welcoming. I was taken back into a treatment "room" which might be better described as a cubicle since you are able to see into the adjacent "room" and hear what is going on with another patient. They completed my x-rays and let me know the dentist would meet with me shortly. I don't recall exactly how much time elapsed, but I waited more than an hour between the time my x-rays were finished and my actual cleaning. The cleaning itself took about 30 minutes. I will say I was pleased with the "free whitening for life" promotion (unsure if they are still doing this). I had to schedule another appointment the following week in order to create my custom fit whitening trays and receive the whitening gel. All in all, I would give my first visit 2/5 stars on account of the unacceptable waiting time in the treatment cubicle. My second cleaning in June 2022 was unremarkable. The staff offered me whitening gel refills, which I accepted. At this point, I believe the original office staff had been replaced because one of the receptionists shared she worked at another Ideal Dental in the area for most of the week and that she was at the Winter Park location temporarily. 3/5 stars, nothing to write home about. Here we are at my third cleaning appointment. I was greeted warmly by another set of unfamiliar faces upon checking in. I completed my x-rays and was then offered to have a 3D scan of my teeth done. I asked the assistant if this would be covered by my insurance and she said yes (I was skeptical, I had read other reviews about this 3D scan NOT being covered). I guess this scan would be helpful in visualizing my teeth as compared to pictures and x-rays? I decided to proceed with the scan (though I wasn't forced to sit through an Invisalign infomercial afterwards as some others have posted). It took maybe 5-10 minutes, the assistant I'm sure was new to this procedure and had to redo the imaging a few times. No big deal, we all have new things to learn! The dentist came in and I agreed to her recommendation for a deep cleaning/scaling. I had been struggling with my mental health lately and my dental routine beyond regular brushing suffered. The staff reviewed the treatment plan with me and it seemed appropriate to me. I would have to do the scaling at this visit and then schedule another appointment for a regular cleaning in order for my insurance to cover both services (or so I was told). Scaling was done and this appointment overall took maybe 45 minutes to an hour, without any uncomfortable waits. I made my next appointment and went on with my weekend. 4/5 stars this visit since Maira and Dr Johanna were so kind and personable. Now, my fourth visit. Maira took me back and we engaged in friendly conversation about the holidays. She began my cleaning. However, shortly after starting, I heard a voice behind me ask if Maira wanted to switch with someone else. Maira politely excused herself and another assistant sat down and let me know she would be completing my cleaning. Truthfully, I was looking forward to having Maira work with me! Our few interactions gave me the impression that she is wonderful at her job and works very thoroughly. Sadly, my expectations were not met during my 10 minute cleaning (which seems to only include flossing and polishing). I checked out with someone at the front who appeared distant or distracted and they did not offer to schedule my next appointment. I would give this particular visit 2/5 stars. TLDR; overall 3/5 stars (generous). Maira and Dr Johanna made a great impression but I would recommend finding a different place for your dental needs. read more

This place is absolutely H O R R I B L E. 0 stars if I could. What a waste of time. They spend 30 minutes of your visit taking unnecessary additional x rays, scan, 3D pictures (??) of your teeth just to try to convince you to spend money and that you need Invisalign for healthy teeth, they play a promotional video and everything. When I asked for just my standard cleaning, I was given push back because the 'Doctor' recommended a more in depth cleaning, but that 'Doctor' didn't tell me anything about that. After declining the expensive cleaning, they made me wait an additional 30 minutes to get my standard cleaning and the dental hygienist had no idea what she was doing. I went to this dental office for the first time on May 4th, 2023. I have never seen this dentist before and the first thing she said to me when she came in after the assistants did X-rays and pictures was "Did you know your smile is a little crooked? We do Invisalign." First, my teeth are very slightly offset; however, it's not even enough to notice much- which should have been my first indication this office was out for money. I declined the service and proceeded with the appointment. I have never had a cavity prior to this visit; however, the dentist indicated I needed a deep cleaning and would need approximately 6-8 cavities filled. She pulled up the X-rays and explained everything, the lady at the front ran the numbers and we originally were going to do it in two sessions given the large sum of money (over $2,000) I'd have to pay out of pocket. When the dentist went to put in the needles to numb me, she hadn't done the local numbing enough and I felt the needles A LOT, MULTIPLE times. We stopped and had to keep adding more numbing. We decided to do all fillings and the cleaning at once so I wouldn't have to be numbed again. During this process the assistant kept spraying water all over my face to the point it was dripping down, I choked on water at one point and some stuff got on my shirt. At one point I felt like the dentist chipped my tooth and the tooth remained jagged after the procedure. Upon leaving the appointment, I was still pretty numb and thought I was extremely swollen. During unexpected conversations with my apartment maintenance men shortly after that appointment, a blood filled gauze roll fell out of my mouth! Turns out the dental staff hadn't removed all of the gauze. Fast forward the next remaining days I was experiencing a lot of pain. As I said, I had never had a filling before so I was doing research to see how uncomfortable/painful it'd be after the procedure. I then decided it had been too much and decided to go back and address the issue with another appointment to relieve the pain. The lady on the phone said my fillings have a 3 year warranty (the least they could do) and wouldn't need to pay anything. Upon getting to the office, the first thing the dentist said to me was "Sometimes when we have people bite the ink strips, they can't tell how hard they're biting when they're numb" as if she was insinuating it was my fault that I hadn't bit it hard enough and that my "fillings were too high" causing my ligaments to be inflamed. While frustrated with the comment I didn't say anything and we proceeded. I had to keep explaining still felt pain and areas felt too high despite the dentist trying to say it was good. She proceeded to file them down and said I would no longer have pain. Mind you, the pain came from hot food/drinks, cold food/drinks, just sitting there not eating anything and even Luke warm water. I asked her if this would alleviate this and she said yes. I also told her I felt like my back upper left molar was chipped, she said it was just my "cap" not sure what that is, and filed it down without addressing it really. I leave the appointment feeling hopeful it would alleviate my pain only to realize that was NOT the case. My teeth have continued to hurt in all of the same scenarios listed above (eating/drinking or not). I called to make ANOTHER appointment for the exact same issue (the 3rd appointment for what should have been done correctly the first time) and scheduled one for Tuesday, May 23rd at 8am. Well, I received a phone call on Tuesday May 23rd at 7:47am stating "the office is closed unexpectedly and would need to reschedule". I received a phone call 13 minutes before my appointment canceling last minute so I am now stuck with continuous pain for another two days waiting on my third appointment for something that wasn't completed correctly the first time. I have NEVER had tooth pain before, and maybe I did have a few cavities; however, I did not expect to exhaust ALL of my dental benefits for the year AND pay out of pocket for $2,000 to make my teeth worse and have continual pain preventing me from wanting to eat or drink. I want this office to be reprimanded and I'd like a refund of at LEAST half of my money that I paid out of pocket as well as some of my dental benefits reinstated so that I can receive another cleaning without paying out of pocket. I'm only continuing to entertain this dental office because I need these issues resolved and do not want to pay anything else out of pocket. I have always loved going to the dentist but this has been such a terrible experience and I want the pain and the money resolved due to the lack of professionalism. Please let me know what needs to be done. I have submitted a formal complaint to my dental insurance to resolve these issues. We'll see. I'm ONLY entertaining this office further to resolve these issues to where I no longer have pain so I don't have to pay out of pocket. This is a horrible, horrible, experience read more
