The winery itself is so uniquely placed on top of the hill and feels so modern compared to the barns and old homes you see elsewhere. The tour was quick to see the property and then we were taken inside to see the wine making process and get a glimpse of all of the barrels, even letting us try straight from the barrel! But once again, Sam is absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, and kind, would absolutely recommend requesting her to give the tour!

Our hostess Tess greeted us and gave us a very educational tour of their wine cave. Even the wine cave manager took time out to talk with us and explain the method they use to test and store the wine. Tess was so friendly and seamed to really enjoy her time and job at White Rock. She walked us through the history and operations of this beautiful family run winery. Christopher, one of the owners even took time to stop into the tasting room and introduce himself and answer any additional questions we had. We were happy to purchase some of the delicious wine and Tess arranged to ship to our home since we were flying back home. It was a mix of everything that I adore: floral, fruit forward, round, and it has this amazing lingering finish that it just like woooow. Loved it to absolute pieces. Honestly, I enjoyed every single wine that I tried. Even the Merlot was tasty and I've never been much of a Merlot gal, but dayum. The wines are truly undeniable. Such a wonderful experience here. I will definitely be back for more of that delicious wine and to hear more funny stories.

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of an individual named Richard Lowitz, who presented himself as the manager and owner of the winery. Upon our arrival, while we were enjoying a light lunch in our cars, Mr. Lowitz approached us in a confrontational manner, ordering us to leave the premises immediately. Despite our calm explanation that we had a reservation and proof of payment, he dismissed us outright, claiming we were scammed. His tone was disrespectful and belittling. After several minutes of distressing interactions, it became clear that Mr. Lowitz had made an error regarding our reservation. Although he eventually acknowledged our booking, the initial confrontation and his aggressive demeanor left a negative impression. Instead of following through with the reservation, we left and went to a wonderful winery a few minutes away. Rather than apologizing, Mr. Lowitz confronted my friends and family begging that we don't leave poor reviews. I want to commend Backstage Winery for taking appropriate action by terminating Mr. Lowitz's employment following this incident. However, I feel it is important for potential visitors to be aware of the treatment my friends/family and I received. It is my hope that the winery will ensure better training and management practices in the future to prevent similar situations from occurring.

My husband and I were able to call ahead and schedule a very last-minute tasting, and from the very beginning, the hospitality was exceptional. I work in the wine industry on the retail side in Texas, while my husband does not, so creating an experience that feels both educational and approachable for both of us is not always easy. Steve absolutely nailed it. He welcomed us warmly, shared thoughtful stories about the wines and the winery, and made the experience feel incredibly personal. The tasting room itself is beautiful and feels like a hidden gem in Napa. We especially loved learning about the wines and the woman winemaker behind Levendi. The tasting was stunning from start to finish. What truly sets Levendi apart, though, is the level of hospitality. Since our visit, I have referred many of my favorite clients to Levendi, and Steve consistently goes above and beyond for them. He bends over backwards to make sure my customers are taken care of, and every single person I've sent has come back raving about their experience. At this point, a trip to Napa would not feel complete without a stop at Levendi. I honestly cannot imagine Napa without Levendi -- or Steve. Gorgeous Estate, Vineyards located in Napa Valley's most celebrated Oakville appellation produce red Bordeaux varietals, and vineyards located on Mt. Veeder at a 1500-foot elevation produce Rudd's Sauvignon Blanc, Leslie's Blend, and Susan's Blanc. These wines are a unique expression of these varietals and a rarity in the Valley given hillsides are typically reserved solely for red varietals. After admiring the extensive gardens, you will see our state-of-the art workshop designed as a continuation of the winegrowing operations in the vineyard, complete with a barrel fermentation room, custom stainless steel fermentation vessels and our hand-made concrete tanks. We then get to see a secluded part of the estate for an outdoor tasting in the boathouse overlooking the lake, on the beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyard, surrounded by meticulously gardens, serene settings that will make you speechless, taking a deep breathe to let it all soak in!
