Wonderful and memorable tasting experience 10/21/23. Our diverse group of six were seated at a glass table within their wine cellar. It's a very comfortable and intimate venue and feels extra special and relaxed as you're in the "basement" of the founder's home. We sampled a variety of estate vino, our favorites were Allora: Lusso Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Tresca Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and the Cielo Super-Tuscan Style Red Blend. (We purchased several bottles of each.) We felt very welcomed, it's not a commercialized tasting experience, rather it's highly engaging and personalized. Highly recommend for those seeking an off-the-beaten path venue that provides exceptional wine in a unique setting. Reservations required. Not designed for party tour buses of bachelorettes. If you're after a wine tasting experience that's intimate and fascinating, make an appointment here. Kelly, the owners daughter, did a great job and had incredible stories to tell. Their wines were delicious and exclusive, so we bought a bottle here as well. After our tasting, we had a picnic lunch on the grounds and the setting couldn't be more perfect. Terry is a gem and this little vineyard is a jewel. A tiny spot where I believe appointments are required to taste. I accompanied a member and Terry spent an hour with us regaling us with jokes and wine facts. It was a very special and intimate experience to have so much time with the vineyard owner. Terry was very gracious and the wines were a treat! With the fires it's so important to support small local vineyards and I encourage you to seek Allora out. Their wines are only available at their vineyard or through their wine club. read more

Its really unfortunate that I have to write a bad review. especially considering its a small family owned business. Although my birthday visit was pleasant, I was extremely disrespected by one of the sisters (employee) after calling to fix what I thought was a simple mistake. They used my credit card information from an individual wine purchase to pay for another persons transaction without confirming the authorization with me. When I called to ask about fixing this $754.00 transaction she disregarded it, raised her voice to yell as if I did something wrong and then she hung up the phone on me without resolving the issue. I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism before from a business. My information was taken and illegally used. Absolutely unacceptable. I also purchased a bottle of wine for my parents and it was never received or shipped. Things happen, I totally understand that. But when there is no responsibility taken and pure disrespect that is projected on to a customer that's simply trying to resolve an issue ...that just shows the character of their business. I strongly strongly would not recommend this winery. I visited a couple others in Napa that were super fun, beautiful vineyards, and most importantly honored the integrity of their business and treated their customers with respect. read more

If you are looking for an intimate and excellent wine tasting experience in Napa Valley, I highly recommend Allora Vineyards. Their gorgeous winery is almost hidden off the beaten path near St Helena and does require reservations. In exchange for a steep $40 tasting fee, you get access to some spectacular wine and excellent service. The tastings are done in the wine cellar with personal service for each group. We leisurely sampled their offerings and were blown away by the quality and overall value of the wine. Allora is varsity level Napa. This is not a scene place with tour buses full of bachelorette parties. You will get excellent wine in a relaxed and romantic setting to reward your great taste and advanced planning. WoWzer, went for the wine tasting today in their beautiful basement. This place feels like a renaissance dream. I have been wine tasting in Umbria & Tuscany... this place is better! The delightful pourer lady (Rosie) was outstanding & so knowledgeable! From the special types of wine glasses (hand-blown to aerate) and the various levels of influences in the wine. Wow. This place will blow you away! It has an "other worldly" quality about it, like you are living on a movie set when you are there. Love, love, loved it. Our best experience in Sonoma or Napa. Just got back from my 2nd trip to Napa and I can honestly say that Allora is my favorite vineyard! Not only are their wines amazing but their vineyard is beautiful and the people are great. Our tasting for 10 was set up at a private table in the barrel room when we arrived. Christina, a family friend of the owners, ran our tasting and she was friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting - someone you'd want to have over to drink wine with. We tasted five amazing wines and each one was better than the last. I didn't want it to end and took two home although I was tempted to buy all five. Best wine and best stop of our trip! read more

Allora has some of the absolute best wines in the area. Make sure you call ahead for an appointment and you will not be disappointed with any of your experience. Terry and Chris are both wonderful people who you can tell have a great passion and appreciation for their family vineyard and wines. We've not met everyone there yet, but I'm positive we would find the same great passion in each and every one of the others who play a part in these great wines. The grounds are simply beautiful. This is my absolute favorite winery. It's a special place because it was the first winery my husband took me to on our first trip to Napa together. We had the pleasure of tasting with the winemaker, Rudy. We usually only get to see him at the annual harvest party so it was such a treat. Fast forward four years and the charm has not faded. The Klein family is so welcoming and no matter how many times you visit there's always a new story you hear. While we love all their wines, the Cab Franc is always a treat. I didn't get to taste this last visit because we're expecting but everyone was as pleased as always. read more

START HERE in your Napa valley experience - if you love top shelf cabernets, petite syrahs,and luscious reds. Our group of four all absolutely love cabernets. Usually we suffer through the first few wine selections of a wine tasting, hoping to get to the the best cabernets as soon as possible. But at Allora, ALL THE WINES ARE WONDERFUL. This winery is the only one we visited where we loved the first wine, all the way to the last wine! We were all amazed by the wines here, and we are not easily impressed! The Lusso is of course our fave. The hosts are fantastic; we received personal treatment from the moment we arrived. This is a very nice experience. It's sooo worth the visit. We're just mad at ourselves that we forgot to buy the chocolate truffles - we had tasted one out of a box from a friend - never tasted anything like them before. read more

Serene setting with cordial host. We were visiting from Southern California and were shown a beautiful winery and treated to a selection of some delicious lush wines. The drive and visit to St. Helena was already so beautiful. This makes a wonderful stop and the wines are so rich and flavorful that a partial glass was very satisfying. Loved this tour. Courtney (oldest Daughter) was our guide and she was wonderful. The tasting takes place in their basement/library-cellar, and the wines were wonderful. Terry (Dad/Founder/Owner) joined us mid-tasting, and his story is AMAZING. He turned a gifted craft (I'll let him fill in the holes), into a wonderfully productive vineyard and great wines - that prompted us to break out our wallet. The location is a bit difficult to find, but that's not always a bad thing. It is a smaller, family owned business and you definitely feel that when they invite you in for the tasting. I had the pleasure of receiving a bottle of your wine thru my son Rand, your brother-in-law, and uncle to the Klein family. I just open it this past week" Tresca 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon", and was not prepared for the best wine I have had the joy of tasting, along with sharing it with a very dear friend. We both agreed it was the best of the Cab. Sau. family of what we have shared here in the northwest and Canada, and I was asked to order a case.
