Best choice for large groups! I did a large group wine tasting at Backstage winery to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing experience. It was hard to find a winery in Napa that met all my requirements such as an evening tasting and large group (15 people) without hefty add-on fees. I was able to easily book my event online and Olivia was really responsive to all my questions and help me make my birthday vision come true! I thought I would have to compromise on the wine or the service or the venue since this all seemed too good to be true. But the tasting experience blew me away further. The wine was fantastic and our wine specialist was so knowledgeable and sweet! He made our experience very enjoyable. The venue is also absolutely stunning. We tasted the finest wines surrounded by an expansive vineyard and beautiful architectural structures that made the best backdrops for all our photos. We ended up buying several bottles and a tasting fee was waived per person for every bottle purchased.

True gem in the Napa Valley! Small batch, family owned winery. Outstanding wine , outdoor patio and hospitality! Complex deliciously aged Cabernet Savingnon. Bonus, All of angelos wines are a delight. Sav blanc and Chardonnay are crisp. His russian river pinot noir and Zinfandel are a delight. The real star of the show is the Cabernet. He makes 8 or 9 different cabs showcasing different AVAs (american viticultural Areas) of Napa. Love them all buy My fav is the coombsville cab. This used to be Mario Andretti's Vineyard, which was built in 84 and the pera family took over in 2020. Definitely put it on your list! They love repeat customers they have wine club and can host private events. Very often, Angelo or his daughter Olivia , personally host, the tastings. They put their heart and soul into the wine and hospitality & it shows. You will not be disappointed!

This place has such a beautiful and authentic vibe. They offered two experiences, one for $45 and another for $75. Napa can be overwhelming with crowds and high demand, but after visiting multiple wineries, this one stood out as my favorite. It was peaceful, and we were able to walk in without any hassle. The service was excellent, and our tour guide, Todd Rickhoff, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable rather than just focused on sales. He shared a lot about wine pairing, which helped us discover our favorite. The atmosphere was quiet and uncrowded--truly a hidden gem.

The final stop on our wine tour and what a finish! Gabriel was knowledgeable and entertaining. The views were breathtaking and the wine was one of our favorites on the tour! We will be back!

Had a wonderful experience when we visited Backstage a few weeks ago...Gabriel was so fun to listen to, we sat outside under the shade of the trees, warm breeze going through and just a lovely group experience chatting, sipping and enjoying our time together. Backstage was also the only winery flexible with us wanting to bring our own charcuterie....everyone else we called did not allow it. That sort of flexibility and that we could book on Tock and change our final count up until 2 hours before our reservation time made this winery exceptional. The showtime cab is fabulous too...we left with many bottles but even more wonderful were our memories. Thank you Gabriel for a fabulous wine tasting experience.

Amazing!! Service was great and love the Italian feel. Would definitely recommend!! Has a nice family feel compared to some commercial wineries in the area.

We came to this winery as a walk-in and our hostess Ashley was amazing! It's great for kids in the backyard and quite romantic! The wine selection is great and we even bought a bottle. Ask for Ashley. She will hook you up! My little Izzy (2 1/2 year old) was having a great time running around in the backyard area with the lovely view.

What a beautiful winery. Very picturesque. Todd was amazing! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. We stayed longer because of him! Wine was delicious. Went home with a few bottles!

Wonderful tasting for wine trolly group! Beautiful view-we loved the pinot noir! We went on a Monday, not crowded at all.

We had the privilege of hosting an event at Backstage in August 2023, and it was a complete hit. Everything from the wine to the staff going above and beyond again and again made this such an unforgettable evening for us and our guests. If we could give 10 stars, we would. We can't thank Olivia and Angelo enough for the amount of care they put into hosting us. They were so welcoming and accommodating to our every ask, allowing us to use the entire property however we envisioned. They helped us test and order the perfect types and amounts of wine ahead of time so that the evening us was a total breeze. Even a few nights ago, nine months after the event, a friend brought up how wonderful that night was and how delicious the wine was. We can't wait to return this summer to do another tasting at Backstage and encourage anyone who is looking at hosting event or doing a wine tasting to check them out, you won't regret it!

But dog friendly. Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!

The entire experience was stellar, beginning with a welcome glass of Vin Gris, which counts as one of the five wines in the tasting. What truly elevated our visit was Dulce, our hostess, who has more than 20 years of wine experience. She described each wine with such knowledge and detail that we were able to choose wines we genuinely enjoyed. But it was more than expertise. She shared her knowledge and passion so freely and with such heart that she made the afternoon feel special. Dulce is truly a gift to Bouchaine. The hospitality began even before we arrived. When we realized we didn't need as much time between wineries, we called and asked whether we could move our 3:30 tasting to 2:30. They accommodated us with grace. We ended up staying more than 2 1/2 hours and never once felt hurried. I especially appreciated the generous spacing between the seating areas, which gave each group privacy and made the tasting feel peaceful rather than crowded. The grounds were lovely, with purple agapanthus and black-eyed Susans blooming against the vineyards and mountains. Even the modern wood architecture--from the tasting room and offices to the beautifully designed bathroom--made us feel as though we were somewhere thoughtfully created and genuinely special. Every member of the staff we encountered was warm and welcoming. Some wineries you visit once because you're curious to experience them. We tasted about 6 or 7 wines, including several blends unique to the winery. I liked how the tasting line up was flexible; our sommelier often let us choose between two wines for each round. It's not touristy, overcrowded, or pretentious and the tasting room is so freakin' CUTE! It's chic and stylish without being super boujee. Honestly, this is 100% my kind of vibe. Can we get into the service piece really quickly?! Michelle and Sharon were fantastic! Not only were they both knowledgeable about everything that we tasted, they were so fun to chat with and full of so many funny and engaging stories. It truly felt like we were chatting it up with some old friends. They play off of each other well and the playful and positive energy was very well received. It's so nice to have the ladies in the house! As someone who loves Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, I instantly fell in love with the wines here. They are soft and easy drinking. Smooth like butter, really. The Chardonnay is citrusy and creamy which is how I prefer my Chards (although I don't mind buttery every now and again). The Pinot stole my heart. It was a mix of everything that I adore: floral, fruit forward, round, and it has this amazing lingering finish that it just like woooow. Loved it to absolute pieces. Honestly, I enjoyed every single wine that I tried. Even the Merlot was tasty and I've never been much of a Merlot gal, but dayum. The wines are truly undeniable. Such a wonderful experience here. I will definitely be back for more of that delicious wine and to hear more funny stories.

If you prefer sweeter sparkling wines, ask which tasting would be the best choice for you. I also recommend adding the charcuterie plate, which came with three cheeses, crackers, dried cranberries, and honey and paired very nicely with the sparkling wines. Caviar is also available if you want to make the experience more indulgent. Dylan gave us a quick overview of the differences among the tastings and explained the four flutes of sparkling wine we would be trying. For me, Domaine Carneros is especially well suited to someone who wants to sit back, sip sparkling wine, and enjoy a beautiful vineyard view. It would also be a lovely choice for a romantic date. If you're looking for an in-depth educational tasting with extensive discussion about the winery's history or the individual wines, you may need to take the initiative and ask more questions. Our experience was more about enjoying the wines, the château, and the scenery than receiving a detailed wine education. And sometimes, sitting on a terrace overlooking Napa vineyards with four glasses of sparkling wine with some cheese and crackers to nibble on is a pretty great experience in itself.
