Travis Suite This weekend stay was a gift. Check in-received a text message for key pad. Make sure you press key lock to lock door doesn't lock automatically. Once you put in code then press key lock and door will open. Everything was clean. It was awkward because we got the code early and the room wasn't ready which wasn't a big deal for us but might have been for other people. There are only stairs to get into the first floor. Wooden rocking chairs and a table were nice for sitting outside. There is a bar and grill and deli across from the house. To the right are the stores, galleries, boutiques and restaurants. All within walking distance. There are no stores for men so ladies this is more of a shopping weekend for you. So many boutiques are pricey. My favorite one was next door to Sugar Mama called Monroe's. The evening was the worst part of the stay. There was karaoke going on and OMG was I glad they ended at 10:30pm. LOL but those people I'm sure had a blast. However the bar across the street. Hmmm well I don't get why people have to rev their car or motorcycle at 11pm. The loud noises stopped around midnight I think. Trip was overall good would have been better without the noise issue. I don't think I would personally come back but would be good for a girls trip or for people who don't mind the noise at night.

My mother and I stayed in the Inks Suite which was wonderful. It was clean, smelled good, comfortable bed, calming decor, great patios for having coffee in morning or wine in evening. We ran into a minor issue at time of check in which the property management notified us ahead and resolved promptly. The property is in good condition, and you can easily walk to downtown shops. We will be returning!

The pool table and shuffleboard are cool, but I feel what sets this place apart are the rope swing (off the roof) and the fish light that allows the party to continue IN the water long after the boats have docked. It is a bit of a trek by car, but stock up on groceries and you don't have to leave for anything. If you have a boat, even better. Head out to your favorite waterfront bar, pick up some friends and head back to the house for the afterparty - you won't disturb anyone.

The owners have gone to incredible lengths to ensure that The Famous Float House continues to deliver on its reputation as one of the most fun, uniquely situated, spots on all of Lake Travis for all ages. And like we always do, we were totally able to rent a Tri-toon boat from a local marina and motor it into the canal where the Float House is located and then use the awesome motorized dingy the Float House owners provide to run people and coolers out to the Tri-toon for then our usual amazing afternoon on Lake Travis. The whole thing was a breeze. And the new little motorized dingy is so much fun to have at the Float House to cruise around in and fish from. Anyhow, it could not have been a better, more fun weekend and we can't wait to go back later this season.

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

I had 4 friends in town for a weekend earlier in the autumn. They stayed in the two-bedroom (sleeps…read more4+) flat on West Live Oak and enjoyed the daylights out of it. Everyone who stayed in the house had previously been to or lived in Austin, and each one not only loved the house but the neighborhood, the accessibility to downtown, and the lengths to which Top Trip Rentals went to make the home feel, well, homey. As a general example, the house came with chips and salsa in the kitchen, local coffee, and lists of things to do, places to visit, and and everything in between. The house in which they stayed was clean, well-stocked, and run by a friendly and warm staff. Highly recommended for people looking to spend a fun or business-oriented weekend in Austin. If you are going to be here for any amount of time and are looking for a place to stay that is both conveniently near downtown, quiet, has space for parking and access to public transit, there literally isn't a better option in the city.

When we arrived, we were concerned about the overwhelming smell of dog pee (we do not have pets). We called and were told yes, they had found 4x spots of urine that they were unable to clean properly before we arrived - including the couch. At first, Lodgewell were accommodating and moved us to another property while they brought in a professional cleaner. When we came back, the urine smell persisted and we still had another week at the property. Lodgewell would return our calls just to say no one was available to respond to our request. We asked for a very small reimbursement given that we literally had to sit in dog pee to watch tv, they stopped responding to us. Oh, and it was Christmas. If I wanted to sleep in dog pee I would have stayed in NYC. A cockroach also jetted out from under the couch, so literally just like home.

They have in-window AC and heating units (which came in handy for the cold snap we received this weekend), a bathroom that included showers, toilets, mirror, and sinks for you to get ready in the morning, and bunk beds with mattresses that actually were quite comfortable. Overall, the cabin facilities were good. We also used a couple of the classrooms that were a bit more run-down that I would have preferred and the in-window heating seemed to be a hit or a miss. The tables could use a refresher and the windows could use an update. The restroom facilities that we used while outside of the cabin were less than stellar. It was neat that there was a washer/dryer on site in the restroom, but the bathroom doors were falling off the hinges and the toilets flushed when they felt like it. The bathroom could use a refresher alongside the classrooms. The grounds were lovely. There were several picnic table areas for us to hang out under trees and enjoy the great outdoors. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and the facilities were quite well done... They could use a refresher in some of the common areas.
