We had been meaning to stay here for some time. After two months of stay at home due to COVID-19 we decided to go for my wife and daughters birthday celebrations. Only a 30 minute drive from our home in South Austin so no stress there. We stayed in the new glamping tent and really enjoyed it. Was peaceful and we slept well. So nice to spend 3 days just doing nothing and being outdoors. Don't forget to bring some firewood for a fire in the evening and to make s'mores. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Wow. This place is nothing short of a heavenly retreat. My boyfriend and I booked a weekend stay here for Valentine's Day at the Romantic Red cabin and we were completely floored when we arrived. The cabin has a bed and modern amenities- a microwave, mini-fridge, wifi, elctric outlets, and a bathroom with a shower in a separate building (only 5 feet away, so not far). Despite the freezing and dreary weather, our room within the cabin had heaters turned on and salt put on the stairs so we wouldn't slip. There was also snacks and complimentary water bottles for us. It was too cold for us to go boating or fishing, but we were able to roast some s'mores and get some much needed relaxation. I cannot imagine a more peaceful and tranquil place. The place is located in an isolated area, so we could hear the birds sing and wind chimes tinkle all day. We could even see the stars at night. Some important things to note is that there are other buildings within the area that can accommodate other guests, but we were the only guests there. It is pitch black at night, so bring flashlights and lamps. A lamp was provided in the cabin, but we realized another one would help. Also, the walkway towards the lake is a bit steep and not for those with mobility issues. That is why I included my boyfriend in the photo for reference. We are in love with this place and cannot wait to come back!

One picture that shows the MANY bugs that flew into my drink inside the house- La Casa De Joy, at Living Waters

My experience at Living Waters on Lake Travis- La Casa De Joy was PURE MISERY. This was the worst vacation rental that I've ever stayed at. I was terrorized by bugs and constantly bitten by bugs for the 5 nights/6 days I was there (which would've been 7 nights, had we not gotten terribly bit at night and checked out 2 nights early). My poor 68 year old mother got assaulted by spiders when sleeping here and got 7 massive painful bites. She even had to visit her doctor to get two prescriptions for the bites. Living Waters is touting amenities that they do not have, and not letting people know that they don't have the amenities UNTIL AFTER THEY BOOK. I find this very unethical. I personally thoroughly read descriptions, etc. when choosing places to stay and by the time I chose this property (based on the amenities I thought they had, etc.), I didn't want to spend more time to find a different property. I feel conned and taken advantage of by this. In my opinion, Living Waters not being transparent about amenities in their online descriptions (prior to making a reservation), is quite deceptive and manipulative. Details on this below. When I initially booked this vacation rental in March, I was under the impression that the house had a private jacuzzi per the descriptions that I read online. Once I booked the rental, I received an email stating that the jacuzzi is actually not working. I called the manager to chat more about the property and he said the jacuzzi hadn't been working since Fall 2020 and that it's possible that the jacuzzi will be replaced by the time of our trip in early May 2021 (which it wasn't). The manager also asked me where I read about the jacuzzi so that he can remove mention of it online. I told him that I read of the jacuzzi on the Living Waters website, and as of 5/15/21, the jacuzzi is STILL listed as an amenity on the Living Waters website- La Casa De Joy property description. If the jacuzzi had not been working since Fall 2020, I don't understand why they ARE STILL promoting this as an amenity, and even when I told the manager where I saw the mention of the jacuzzi, it still wasn't removed. An important item of note is that other amenities that Living Waters touts in their descriptions (yoga classes, massages, energetic healing), haven't been available since at least 4/7/21, however Living Waters is STILL touting these in their online descriptions, including Airbnb, VRBO, and their website, as of 5/15/21. The La Casa De Joy house is promoted as luxurious and peaceful. I didn't experience this. It was not relaxing for me or luxurious in the slightest. The living room furniture is very old and worn (sags when you sit on it). It seemed very unclean. The bedroom mattress is clearly old and sags. The outdoor furniture is dirty, old, and rusted. I had to wipe down furniture outside that I used because it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years- cobwebs and all. There were so many bugs outside on the patio, two even flew into my hair. I couldn't even enjoy a drink INSIDE the house without tons of bugs flying into it. The bathrooms are vintage and unclean. There was even a spider in the downstairs shower when I was using it. My "vacation" here was all about being attacked by bugs and killing bugs. I expected walking trails on the property due to the Living Waters description. I didn't see walking trails aside from those leading to the river (which I wouldn't swim in due to the murkiness) or to sitting areas including the La Casa De Joy deck (which wasn't in the best shape and even had random rusted nails out). The floating cabin that was highlighted in the property description by Living Waters had a potent musty smell (so much that we had to cover our noses when walking through it), and it was dirty, had cobwebs, and not maintained. Living Waters mentions a pond on property. I saw a very small pond with black water in front of the house. I didn't see fish in it. Living Waters also mentions an herb garden that is on property. I didn't see an herb garden. If there is an herb garden on property, it must be very small because it did not stand out enough for me to see it. The house isn't secluded as the Living Waters eco houses and tents are in close proximity to La Casa De Joy. When on the porch, we heard other people on the property speak since they're so close. Long story short, Living Waters on Lake Travis- La Casa De Joy is much different than I thought it would be. I wish we would've stayed elsewhere. We were counting down the days to going to here and I was ready to run for my life from this place. We got home with awful painful bite marks, itching, exhausted, stressed, feeling like we just went through a huge battle, and needing a REAL vacation.

I am beyond thrilled that we spent our anniversary in LWOLT. The experience is truly like no other. We stayed in the Romantic Red Eco Cabin which includes a detached bathroom & wine deck next door. The cabin was a perfect size, filled with a large bed, a bin of snacks & water, and more kitchen offerings than I could have possibly expected. There was a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, pans, small array of basic seasonings, coffee, tea, etc. We took advantage of the nice weather to bbq and were pleased with the convenient location of the grills just outside our cabin. The bathroom boasts an extra large tub, perfect for lighting some candles and sipping some drinks while you drift into perfect relaxation. The wine deck is one of the best spots to just kick back and relax while you enjoy the outdoors, and if you're outside late enough, you'll catch a great view of the deer in the area. There are hammocks throughout the property and a nice open field where we were able to frisbee and enjoy the space. A place like this definitely had me weary of the bugs we would encounter but we were honestly only bugged by pesky little flys once we cooked some food. The trek down to the floating cabin is definitely one to be careful of but once you are down there, boy is it a sight. It is a breathtaking view that will keep you staring in awe for hours on end so grab a seat on the floating cabin and enjoy! Our cabin had a journal to check in and leave notes about your stay which is such a sweet offering so be sure to leave your mark on your next visit! Thank you to everyone at LWOLT for your efforts to run such a wonderful vacation spot. It was such a unique stay & we most definitely will be back!

I was looking for a place to have a bachelorette party/getaway when I came across a listing for the Eco-Cabins; I initially booked this through GlampingHub, so this review will be there as well :) After looking at the options I booked the Red Room Cabin and the Blue Loft for myself and four others. Todd (property manager, on-site massage therapist, and all around genuinely amazing and super-nice human being) contacted me immediately after booking. We got some details hashed out in terms of arrival time, options for the massages, and basically just scheduling things. Due to scheduling we were only able to stay for one night, but Todd worked with us to make it happen. We were interested in doing the Girls Weekend package, which includes an hour of massage, a wine tasting at Stone House Vineyard, and a private group yoga session, so he gave information about that as well. Surroundings: The drive to the location was calming in itself, passing hills and fields and animals. Upon arrival, I contacted Todd and he met us and showed us where to park. Parking is available right around the corner behind the property fence, with openings to walk right to the Eco-Cabins. This entire property is beautiful - it's a charming and peaceful environment with so many options for places to sit and breathe, relax, think, chat with friends, or just listen to nature. We were there for less than an hour before deciding we will definitely return in the future, and even started planning another weekend stay for later this year. There are some hammocks to lay on, a small swing, and a covered pavilion with some couch seating. There are also roaming dogs in the area that came onto the property a few times, which was so cute! Lake: With a short walk down the driveway, you hit water! The view is beautiful of course - especially at sunset and in the morning. The water was pretty high when we were there, so to get from the driveway area to the floating cabin we needed to wade through a few inches of water. Being super-smart and definitely feeling invincible at the time, I accidentally fell in - but it felt great! Thanks Mid-February Texas weather! :) I really wish I'd brought a swimsuit, but that'll just have to be a next-time thing. The lake cabin has a couple seats as well, and we sat there for a bit just looking out at the water and occasionally waving at people passing by on their boats. We saw kayaks stored near there as well, and I think they're available to rent, which would be great! Cabins: We booked Red Room and Blue Loft. Both were super cute! The Red Room has room for two to sleep, has a detached bathroom, and a private seating area up the stairs where you can just sit and breathe and observe for a while. We only used the fridge and some glasses, but I believe there were some things available if you wanted to cook something. The Blue Loft has a small kitchenette with basics available as well, and it has room for four to sleep. Outside the cabins there are seats and a small table. There's also space between the cabins to do a small campfire, with all the things needed - we didn't use this but we will next time. Massages: There is a massage room on site. We each had a one-hour massage session with Todd. It was my first massage ever, but I feel like his approach was perfect. He has a very client-drive mindset, and I feel like he listened to what my body/muscles/joints was telling him. He explained the process beforehand and made sure I was comfortable with everything, and gave tips on how to breathe through any discomfort. I felt amazing afterwards! He also told me after where he felt the tension and stress being carried. It was honestly incredible; there aren't enough words to describe it! Yoga: We did our yoga session on Sunday around 11am. It was amazing as well! The instructor (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!) was very knowledgeable about yoga and the body and connecting with breathing, which I really appreciated. The session was perfect - we were outdoors, there were wind chimes being struck, the lake in the background, great company and amazing instructor... just perfect. Wine Tasting: The vineyard is a short drive away (less than five minutes), and it was very nice as well. We tried I think 6 different wines, bought a cheese plate (not included in LWOLT package) and bought a bottle of wine (also not included) to take back with us. The sun started setting while we were here, and we took a few pictures :) Checkout: Easy breezy, we just took our trash out and put it in the trashcan, tried to leave everything how it was when we arrived, and said goodbye + see ya later to Todd. Overall - super impressed, glad we booked here for bachelorette weekend getaway, and wish I could go back again and stay for more time. TL;DR Bride + bridesmaids booked here and did the Girls Weekend Package (massage, wine tasting, yoga). Living Waters on Lake Travis is absolutely worth it; I highly recommend it, and we will all be returning!

First time visiting this facility and I guarantee you will not be my last the peace and quiet that's occasionally interrupted every now and again by passing boats and jet skis is minimal the peace however is phenomenal. Welcoming staff is par for the course, the facility is a little out of the way from everything "Austin", but that's why we're here. Wine & bbq is minutes away and I couldn't be happier!

    Top deck

My wife and I rented out the red cabin for one night. The only regret we have is that we didn't rent it out for 2 nights. Yes the room and the restroom are separated by 3 steps but that was not a big deal at all. Upon arrival we immediately fell I love with the room and the entire location. The room is extremely cozy and has everything you would need of you take your food to cook. The red cabin has a fridge, microwave, toaster oven and a single stove top. Right outside there are two charcoal pits and one propane pit. There is also a nice little selection of snacks in a basket and coffee with powdered creamer and different sugars available. Tea packets are also there. The bed is very comfortable with pillows and blankets. There are extra blankets behind the bed in wooden basket as well. Bathrobes and hangers are also provided. The oversized bathtub is perfect for sitting in, relaxing and having a couple beers or glasses of wine. Around the camp there are plenty of places to sit including chairs and hammocks. The most relaxing spot is the two chairs right next to the stream of water. The walk down to the lake is not far but very coming back up could be a struggle for elderly or those who are not in very good shape. The top deck above the restroom is great. You can see down on the rest of the area. My wife and I will definitely be coming back. It's great to know that such an amazing vacation getaway is only 1 1/2 hour from us.

Only one of the many beautiful views on this lush green property.

Great place for a getaway, you can see the river from the tent and it was an over all cozy fun stay! Will definitely be back.
