#WhereAreLoveyAndMillieHowlNow #sunoutdoorslaketravis…read more We are on a year long trip throughout the continental United States in an RV and thought it might be helpful if we added reviews of places we've gone or stayed from a dogs perspective. So here we go The humans booked us right outside of Austin, Tx at the Sun Outdoors Lake Travis RV park and we have to say we give this place 's from a dog perspective one of the things we loved the most were the 3 dog parks, so space for all of us regardless of personalities. Each dog park has a few big trees for shade, picnic bench for the humans to sit & bags and trash close by. While there are no jungle gyms for us to play on, we are ok with that as that gives us more room to run off the crazies. Also no water bowls @ 2 of the parks, but the largest did have a water bowl along with a doggie wash station The park had nice wide roads throughout so the humans can walk us and if there are any other dogs, each can pick a side of the road if needed! Also a nice off road walking path. RV site - nice and enough room between RVs so you don't feel on top of your neighbor. Usually a tree or two per site, picnic table, and grass at our site. Only downside, no fire pit but it was warm out so we didn't really miss it. Humans are happy tho, 50amp service, great water pressure, and sewer available at each site AND daily trash pick up RV park - nice wide roads, no low overhanging branches, gravel site but level enough and enough room for a 42' trailer + truck Took about 20-40 mins to get to downtown Austin depending on traffic. Pool and jacuzzi for the humans, along with a airstream cafe at the pool! also a gym and a clubhouse, again for humans We would definitely stay here again, everyone was nice and the park was kept in great condition #bringfido

The pool table and shuffleboard are cool, but I feel what sets this place apart are the rope swing (off the roof) and the fish light that allows the party to continue IN the water long after the boats have docked. It is a bit of a trek by car, but stock up on groceries and you don't have to leave for anything. If you have a boat, even better. Head out to your favorite waterfront bar, pick up some friends and head back to the house for the afterparty - you won't disturb anyone.

Despite the historically low water levels, we could not have had a better time, as always. The owners have gone to incredible lengths to ensure that The Famous Float House continues to deliver on its reputation as one of the most fun, uniquely situated, spots on all of Lake Travis for all ages. And like we always do, we were totally able to rent a Tri-toon boat from a local marina and motor it into the canal where the Float House is located and then use the awesome motorized dingy the Float House owners provide to run people and coolers out to the Tri-toon for then our usual amazing afternoon on Lake Travis. The whole thing was a breeze. And the new little motorized dingy is so much fun to have at the Float House to cruise around in and fish from. Anyhow, it could not have been a better, more fun weekend and we can't wait to go back later this season.

We didn't want to unpack and risk the lingering smell following us home. We notified the owners who attempted to resolve the matter by offering to reimburse us if we went out and bought a candle. I'd assume everyone shares the WiFi as the tv had connectivity issues the entire stay. Our cell phones were unable to keep WiFi connection as well. The outdoor tree swings broke and we are lucky no one was seriously injured. Ac did not keep the bungalow cool, we made it manageable with the fan on full blast but it definitely was warm. They have windows in the bathroom with no sunshades or curtains, fully exposed. Same with a large window in the closet, fully exposed with a closet door that only closed halfway. The water is undrinkable, so bring bottled water. Toaster was broken, some glasses had holes, the overall feel of the bungalow was unkept unmaintained and overpriced. If you come into the space with the idea of glamping you'll be okay. We made the best of the outdoor area which was very nice. Great views

Prior to check-in, we were given instructions with regard to the keys for the room and where to park, etc. The Bungalows offer direct access to the Volente beach across the street. Those who rent the bungalows are given VIP wrist bands to Volente Beach. The Things and I spent Friday and Saturday night at the Bungalow. There are various Bungalows to select from, and each had a barbeque pit in front. Although our television didn't work in our Bungalow, we had a blast with our neighbors for the night on Friday, so the lack of a television was a moot point. The Bungalow was small and was appointed with a bunk bed, queen bed, small table, and kitchenette. There was also a small stand-up shower and toilet. We spent very little time in the bungalow other than to sleep and heat the food that we brought (we brought food because there is no dishwasher in any of the bungalows, and I didn't want to wash dishes by hand). If you are seeking a place to hang your hat while you play at Voelnete Beach, this may be the place for you.

My husband and I came across North Shore Vacation Rentals as we were planning our Lago Vista…read morewedding held April 2016. We had a large number of guests traveling from out of state to attend, and we struggled with finding accommodations that would fit our needs. We wanted to be able to make a nice recommendation for guests that would be close to the wedding venue and allowed the use of a shuttle service. Many of the nearest hotels were in Cedar Park, which was not as close as we would have liked. After some research, we found North Shore Vacation Rentals which had a large number of rental properties within The Island on Lake Travis. Having so many rentals in one area made shuttle service much easier to plan. From the moment I reached out, Katie and the staff at North Shore were such a pleasure to work with! They really went out of their way to help make my very large room block work smoothly. Katie personally showed us the property and a number of the rentals before we committed, and we were impressed by the shape that many of the condos were in. The Island also offered a few amenities, including access to swimming pools, a spa, outside barbecues & picnic tables and even a bar/restaurant on property (where we hosted our after party following the wedding reception). I am so happy we chose to go this route not only for the convenience factor, but also for the exceptional customer service that was provided. Katie even walked the entire property with me the weekend of our wedding to help me distribute welcome gift bags for our guests. In addition to rentals within The Island, North Shore also offers other rental properties. One very nice house in particular located just a short distance from The Island was rented out by a group of guests as well. Guests had nothing but nice things to say about the business, all of the beautiful lakefront views, and the numerous deer sightings in Lago Vista. If you're looking for a place to stay in the area or just an excuse for a getaway, I would highly recommend considering a rental through North Shore Vacation Rentals!

My girlfriend & I stayed at the Lake Travis Tree Lodge on 4/12-4/15. It was a birthday gift for her…read more& I chose the Tree Lodge specifically because she likes views. We were not disappointed. The views from the deck & the bedroom are gorgeous. There was always a nice breeze blowing while we sat in the rocking chairs relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. Bruce met us out front shortly after we arrived while we were unloading our bags. The Tree Lodge has its own private entry & stairway so there is plenty of privacy, but at the same time Bruce was close at hand if we ever needed anything. Fortunately, I know the Austin area fairly well & there were no problems with the room so other than recommending a couple of places to eat & ride (we were on the motorcycle) we had privacy the whole weekend. Speaking of places to eat, I would recommend that you try County Line BBQ on FM 2222. Great place w/ good food. The Oasis is nice for a margarita & a wonderful view, but the food is just so-so & a little pricey for what you get. Bruce recommended a place on Hudson Bend not far from the Tree Lodge (I can't remember the name but it was a Mexican cafe) and they served a delicious breakfast. If you get downtown, try Corazon on the Castle...especially for Happy Hour. Bruce also recommended the Iguana, which is on 620 not far from the Tree Lodge but we never made it there. As far places to see, you should check out Mt Bonnell, which is also off of 2222 about 2 miles past County Line BBQ. The Oasis is a must-see even if you just go there for dessert or a drink. Take some time to drive some of the roads in NW Austin. Also check out the bats under the Congress Street bridge. Go to the TGIF at the Radisson on Cesar Chavez about an hour before sunset & get a table on the patio. At dusk they come out & fly down the river (Lake Austin). Barton Springs is nice & a tour of the Capitol as well. And, obviously, you gotta try 6th street for some good music & even better "people watching". Overall, the Tree Lodge was a great place to stay. The only thing that could make it better is if there were a hammock & a hot tub. The only negatives would be the hot water doesn't last long (just enough time for 2 adults to shower if you hurry) & the fridge is kind of small. Keep in mind that this is not really a B&B. There is not really anything to eat in the Tree Lodge but Austin is like a food Mecca so there are plenty of places to eat and, if you prefer to stay in the whole weekend, you can just bring your own as there is a microwave & a fridge. We plan on coming back again. Thanks again Bruce for a nice place to hide away & for the suggestions on where to ride. We enjoyed the ride out Hamilton Pool Road & the breakfast at the place on Hudson Bend was delicious!

We could contact him if we needed anything, but we were set! There were helpful reading materials to get to know the area or books just for casual reading, along with a nice bottle of vino to toast to our 34 years together. Such a serene setting to sit on the deck to enjoy the view-- as though we were the only two within miles. Enjoyed the birds at the feeders and bird bath. Very accommodating spacious place for our 3 nights there! In the future we'd make this our place to return to.

Stayed at the 3 BR/8 guest house on Aug. 10-13th. I had an issue on the initial booking identity…read moreverification where there was an error on the verification questions. This caused my booking to be cancelled and I had to rebook and reverify. VERY inconvenient but everything got worked out. When you pay $900+ per night you don't want to be inconvenienced while trying to book. The Reserve is a nice community, but like all managed "premier planned" suburban areas they are very Nazi-ish with rules and enforcement. Again, when you're paying over $900 per night it's very off-putting and insulting to constantly be reminded of the rules. They treat you like you're a college kid trying to sneak and throw a frat party while you're parents are away for the weekend. Our rental even had cameras on the house that were actively being monitored (details below). VALUE: I don't normally complain about price so I won't do it here. Let's just say that this place is expensive. I voluntarily paid the money but it's a high price. HOUSE: Nice place, very clean. Premium decor - Texas modern rustic. Complimentary prosecco in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch. Bring your own food/drinks/condiments (salt, pepper, etc.)/ice. All utensils for just about any kind of cooking and everything needed to have nice dinner parties were there. We had an issue with POOL: I did a cabana rental for 2 days at $50 per day. Rentals include a complimentary pitcher of beer or margarita per day. Pool was nice and in good shape. Lazy river, kids pool and infinity pool as well as swim up bar and snack bar are all part of the pool. You aren't allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, food, or coolers into the pool area. They did allow us to bring an individual cup or water bottle. They will search your bags for food/alchohol/etc. if you bring large bags. LOCATION: Be prepared to drive 40 minutes to anywhere. There's enough restaurants, entertainment, etc. 45 minutes away. All-in-all this was a good place to stay. The main reason this is not a 5-Star review is because I was contacted by TurnKey with a threatening call because the management/owner were watching us on the Arlo/Netgear camera (Nazi-ish) on the back patio (there's a camera on the front porch and back patio) and thought that one of my guests was on the back patio smoking. None of us are smokers and it was insulting for them to accuse us of smoking (I'll say it again for emphasis... when you're paying over $900 per night).

My cousin and his family have a membership here and they invited us to come out for the day. When you are driving out there it feels like it is kind of in the middle of nowhere and then all of a sudden this paradise appears. We spent time at the marina. This was the nicest marina I have seen in the Austin area for sure! I could tell everything is taken care of with the utmost care possible. The marina is treated somehow as well so that the cobwebs and spiders don't take over your boat and slip area, which is super nice and convenient. There is also room for outdoor kitchens and patio furniture at the front of each slip. People have grills and stuff out there too. I gathered that it is a thing to just hang out at your slip area and cook out with your friends and family and you may or may not even take the boat out. After we took the boat out and came back in we road the golf cart up to the lazy river. This is where it really started to feel like a resort for me. They have a decent sized lazy river that is so much fun! There is a swim up bar on one side and the bar opens to the deck area on the other side. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chase lounge chairs in the sun and shaded for total comfort and relaxing. I had a few perfectly made margaritas from the bar and had a wonderful time hanging out with my family and floating the lazy river! The Reserve property is actually pretty huge! They also have cabins you can rent out, tennis courts and a park area. There is lots of places to hike around as well. This would be the perfect family get away spot and it is not too far from other cool outdoor things like Krause Springs, Hamilton Pool Park and of course Lake Travis!
