For many years McKinley have looked after my furnace and water heating needs and I have always been more than satisfied with their help. When my furnace fan didn't seem to be working I called on McKinley to come out and take a look at the fan. As it turned out the fan had been set at a low rate which needed to be adjusted to circulate the air through my high efficiency furnace filter whenever the air is filled with forest fire smoke and when it is very hot. The technician was very personable, told me what he'd adjusted and charged the minimum. I was very pleased. A couple of weeks later I needed the water tank replaced. It was so easy with Shawn H. setting up the replacement. Stephen C. arrived promptly to do the replacement. He made me feel comfortable, was very efficient and was done in an hour. Just had the McKinley technician out for our annual AC service. Young man who came was very professional, quick and diligent. He went above and beyond by cleaning up area where he did the work and sprayed out the outside units. I contacted McKinley to provide a quotation on three commercial boiler replacements. I was told I would get a reply within the day. A week later I called back and reminded them of our requirements and again never received a call back. This would be a substantial job and would probably include a service contract. I guess they are not looking for new business. read more

This company restored my faith in people. I had another company come in to service my furnace and was told I had some obscure brand of furnace and it was on it's last legs spewing carbon monoxide. After researching on the net I realized my furnace was made in Canada with a distributor in Edmonton. I called McKinley and explained the situation and they sent their technician who checked my furnace thoroughly and explained everything to me. My furnace was fine and not unknown or unsafe. They didn't charge me which is extremely kind as I had paid the other company and even after I complained about the sloppy way their guy had replace the cover on my furnace they didn't respond. The fact that I was blatantly lied to by the other company to extort thousands of dollars from a senior is scary. Mckinley Heating is definitely going to be looking after my furnace and when it comes to replacing it they will be who I pick! read more

I contacted McKinley about installing an AC unit at Lake Wabamun and was given a rough estimate and told to phone back when the weather was warmer. I phoned today and was told that they didn't service Parkland County, although they say that they do in their ad and I had been previously been told that there would be no problem. WRETCHED! They tried to scare/pressure me into a sale and not allowing me to even get another quote to replace my furnace. I met with them twice both times it was ALL PRESSURE and SCARE tactics. Not cool people. You completely lost a sale with me. When the uneducated sales/scare lady showed up I told her I was getting other quotes. She said she would follow up. That was a month ago and I still have yet to hear from them. I can't help what would have happened if I did use them for furnace replacement. I can only imagine they would disappear then. To add insult to injury they charged me $200.00 and did nothing but open the side panel and look in it. i had requested a tune up and they couldn't do it since we had a cracked heat exchange. I understand a service charge but they were here for 18 minutes and did nothing. I called to speak with the manager and needless to say he never called me back either. Two thumbs down as far as I am concerned. read more

I used this company recently and really thought you would like to know about them. We have been a customer of theirs for over 20 years now. They handle everything with our home air conditioning, heating, humidifier and air cleaning service, and they really do a great job. I have never had to wait more than a day for a service appointment and their workers have always been professional and respectful of our home. It has been a long time since I have seen tradesmen work non-stop till the job was completed. Where do they get their energy? Like the energizer bunny. I have been using them for several years. Service is prompt, and the technicians I have dealt with have always been very professional.

Spent over $2000 and now McKinley tells me I need new furnace as the one I have is the wrong one. After 4 visits and many hours on the phone...not to mention the stress from dropping winter temperatures...I'm told the furnace they fixed is actually too big for the house and a number of venting changes need to occur.. Why wouldn't they say that in the first place? They provide no written guarantees. Customers aren't first...unless you pay more. At least $6,000 to be exact. But who can just keep writing cheques in this economy? McKinley tells me I need to get a new furnace for $6,000. They seem to have forgotten I also paid $2,000 yet they did take my money. For people on a fixed income (or seniors) how is someone to manage $8000 just to obtain a heating device in an average size home. Is there no one who can stop this kind of behaviour? I would recommend you start with the first part of the phone book and skip the M's unless you have too much money on your hands, not to mention lots of time to spare going back and forth with an outfit that seems to enjoy playing games and pushing little guys around. For those of you who don't like to have phone calls recorded without your knowledge...you will wish to exercise caution when calling McKinley. read more
