Stopped by late (they closed at 2:30pm and we were there around 2pm) and they were so incredibly welcoming. There was a regular eating and even he welcomed us in to eat. The food was good, American cooking! The French toast was incredible and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I was really happy with everything and how happy the atmosphere was in there. If you want some home cooking, welcoming service, and a hometown feel... THIS is THE place. We're in town for two days and will be eating here twice! read more

Having grown up here, not sure how I uad never been to McKinley. Stopped in yesterday for breakfast and it was what I expected. Hole in the wall diner vibes, everyone in there knows most of the other patrons. Good service with dair prices. Had ordered the French Toast with bacon. Didn't seem to wait too long for it and was what I expected. Definitely plan on stopping back in for lunch or dinner when they're open later. read more

My sister & I went to McKinley grill Friday morning. It was busy. I noticed only one lady taking care of the whole show. My sister had the big breakfast bacon(only she didn't want ham & sausage) eggs, home fries & silver dollar pancakes. The eggs were cooked to perfection!( so often over medium is prepared with white not done) I had the breakfast bowl, hash browns, eggs(I ordered scrambled eggs) cheese & sausage gravy. Our food was delicious. The service was one woman waiting tables, busing tables, cashier! I recognized as I did the same in high school. One cook in the back. I would definitely go back! Down near the main drag of marysville, sits a small town diner that offers good food at a good price. I told them that we were first timers, (which they already knew by not knowing our names. ) We walked in, and i thought that i stepped into a pub in ireland, sans alcohol. I ordered the gus burger, which was good and the fries were molten magma (thank God for refills). It is a small place, keep that in mind when getting there around lunch time, as i am sure they are swamped with locals. Wish I could give 0 stars. We walked in, two tables were empty but not cleaned. Then while a girl in headphones slowly (talking the sloths in Zootopia slow or even slower) cleared all the dishes from the table in the middle of the floor to the other empty one along the wall and then had to check in to be told she needed to wash the table in the middle of the room off, a third table left. I expected decent food at a cafe. I got great food, with all the perks you'd expect at a small-town diner. It's nothing fancy, but there's plenty of room and comfy seating. Service was excellent- friendly and fast. Not just for me; every interaction I saw was amazing. It's clearly a mom-and-pop place run with love. The menu is pretty basic breakfast and lunch fare. A lot looked good, but the sausage gravy drew me in. I ended up with the breakfast bowl- biscuit, hash browns, egg, cheese, sausage gravy. That could add up to anything, and be mediocre. Instead, each of the parts was great and they added up to a stellar meal. The biscuit was good (though it was pretty well buried in the other stuff.) The hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The eggs were perfectly scrambled. The gravy was thick and tasty. The cheese was shredded and melted on top. Everything was in proportion, and tasted good individually and together. I usually ask for hot sauce to pep up the taste of breakfast, but it wasn't needed. It was a massive portion, too. Tried this place today , food is ok , place is dirty and dirty fish tank , not sure why have fish tank of goldfish in diner , service was good but one worker was rude and lazy. Mckinley's Grille is a little hole in the wall restaurant. We've been here a few times several years ago for their all you can eat fish fry Fridays and have had good experiences then. I remember their fish pretty outstanding the first time or two and then it was meh after that. They had walleye then too, where now I seen it is Pollack. Well today, we decided to stop in for brunch. This was an excellent and very filling breakfast. It was hot when it came out and we didn't wait very long at all for. Service was pretty good. Our sever was friendly but seemed overwhelmed as the place was quite busy and at times seemed a little bothered. Overall though, they have excellent food and is worth the stop if you haven't been here before. read more

Cute little place I went to with my boyfriend this morning. We chose our booth and our drink order was taken. Our waitress wasn't wearing a mask, which kind of bothered us, but she told us she forgot it in her car and hadn't had time to grab it. When she came back with our drinks, she had her mask on, not covering her nose. I ordered the French Toast with strawberries and a side of cheesy hash browns, and my boyfriend ordered the coffee cakes with a side of hash browns and sausage patties. When the food came, the strawberry cup spilled on the table, I hurried up and put them back in the bowl. My boyfriend was not expecting his meal to be pancakes with coffee in them, and he hated them. He really enjoyed the sausage and said it was kind of spicy. My French toast was perfectly soft, the strawberries were fresh. Was not greeted or acknowledged at all. Was literally stared at but not with any warmth but with actual anger. Let alone that the booth smelt like a dirty rag and that you are overcomes with that neglected algae filled fish tank when you walk it but the whole place is positioned so awkwardly that all the other patrons were just glaring at us as well. I I genuinely felt like I was not invited, like I was outcasted. It was just myself and my husband and I felt like it was because we weren't white. The reason why I feel that way, is because two other couples walked in and sat in booths around us and they were promptly greeted and seemed like they were regulars. Okay so, I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. Service as everyone before me has stated was less than stellar. Not very friendly and could use some table skills. The food was okay it's a steak that was a little overdone but it was so thin not many other options than overdone. Menu was a little confusing my husband spent the same amount on two pieces of bacon eggs and hash browns as I did on steak eggs and hash browns. Menu said something about juice that came with it but the waitress was very vague and never brought the juice. I may give it one more try for dinner because I'm a sucker for open-faced roast beef. I crave their pancakes. Their hash browns are good too. Best breakfast in Marysville and not a chain. This a great example of a small town diner. Id like to start of by saying it smells like piss, tables are right on top of each other and the staff is unfriendly to say the least. Ordered our food (just simple everyday breakfast that can be cooked at home within 20 minutes) and had to wait for an hour and fifteen minutes before we decided to just leave. Needed a place to grab some breakfast and Bob Evans was waitlisted so we decided to try this place. Oopps!! Bad decision!! I wish I would have read the reviews before going in there. Most of them were spot on to my experience yesterday. Fish tank is disgusting when you walk in the door. Servers were Half friendly. Fairly quick to take drink order then came back for food order. That's the good part!! The food took over 45 minutes to come out!! It definitely was not worth the wait!! I heard a server tell another table they would take the biscuits and gravy off their bill because the biscuits were burned. I got a breakfast bowl and they hid some of the burned biscuits on the bottom of that under some burned hash browns and gravy. I ordered it with over easy eggs and it had scrambled eggs under the gravy. Apparently at the last minute they realized they screwed up so they threw a couple over easy eggs on top of all of it instead of making it over. The bacon my wife was served was beyond burned. The place seemed busy. After my experience and reading the other reviews, I'm not sure how they have made it this long. What a mess!!! read more
