My fiancé and I recently got engaged and went to Applebee's to celebrate, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. After initially being told there was a 30-minute wait, we left to wait in our car. When we called to make a reservation to ensure our spot in line, where they told us we could be seated immediately. Upon returning, we were seated in Brandy's section. She appeared to be serving tables, bartending, and running food on her own, which led to long wait times... About 10-15 minutes for drinks and nearly 40 minutes for food. The food arrived hot and tasted okay, but the broccoli was overcooked and mushy, and my 6oz sirloin ordered medium came out very well done. I also ordered a Shark Bowl, which took a while to receive and tasted as if it contained no alcohol whatsoever. We also noticed no servers checking on tables and a line at the door that went unacknowledged. I understand staffing issues happen, but the service felt disorganized, especially for a special occasion. Such an unadulterated ----show of a restaurant. I admit, I only go here because my parents invite me to join them, they never leave happy, but they're old, so I don't think they remember by the next time. Still, I do end up here from time to time as a paying customer, and let me just tell you, the place is a trainwreck. The service is awful, usually incompetent, not rude, sometimes rude, but usually just incompetent. Like it's everyone's first day there, forever. I'm not sure how many years it's been since we got appetizer plates with an appetizer. Usually you need to ask at least two times to get silverware. We have been served entrees multiple times before receiving silverware or napkins. And I don't mean the server who brings us the entrees has these things either, they just bring the entrees and walk off for us to eat with our hands. The food is always lousy, not worth the price, even though their prices are not high, it's still not worth it. There's something too about the plating, I never think about plating other than when I go here, somehow the food just looks terrible on their cheap white plates. And it never tastes all that great, and meat is usually gristly, and often things are served somewhat lukewarm to cold. I never give them a hard time or complain, it's a terrible restaurant, if you know, then you have no reason to complain that everything is terrible. But still, if you don't want a terrible experience, don't eat here. read more

Whaaaaaa?! 4 stars??!!! You crazy??! My wife and I have not been to this restaurant in years....until today and I was pleasantly surprised. We got the 2 for $30 and it was great. Spinach and artichoke dip with a side of salsa with a pile of taco chips was really good...seriously. The wife got chicken Alfredo and I got the half slab of ribs with spicy Asian sauce. Both were good! The waitress circled our table like a buzzard, asking if we needed anything. At the end she asked if we wanted "go cups"......for our water...whaaaa? One server ruined me and my girlfriend's stay then the manager gave a false promise. Loved it, now never will go back to marysville location. I have been a customer at this location many times over the past few months as I am fond with their drink and food prices. I went in with my girlfriend and we are both over the legal drinking age. Every server I've had there has been wonderful except for the most recent time I went where me and my girlfriend got very rude and unprofessional treatment from this bigger blonde female server who I forget the name of. She was training a young girl at the time and you could tell she was also uncomfortable with the way she was treating us. We sat down and ordered an appetizer. Our server was, quick, forceful, and impolite. Me and my girlfriend noticed but looked past it. I then ordered an alcohol beverage and she instantly has an attitude and said that she will need to see both our ID's with a rude tone. I had my ID but my girlfriend didn't. I told her that and she said that I couldn't get the drink because it had to be split by two people. I complied although unsure of why she is limiting how much I drink as an adult considering I don't drink there often and it was my first drink. So I asked if I could just get another drink that had less of an alcohol content in it for me. She then made a sly remark about how if she sees me give my girlfriend a drink of what I get then we will be kicked out with no refund as if either had done anything remotely suspicious to garner a response like that. She never replied to my thank you comments or my nice gestures. Our appetizer came quick but I had to wait 30 minutes before my drink ever came. She gave me my drink and I replied thank you which she replied with rolling her eyes. I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected to the point to where I wasn't even hungry anymore. I contemplated because I struggle with confrontation and hate getting people in trouble but I got the strength to go to the front and ask for the manager to explain what happened and that we just want to leave. The manager then told me after I explained the situation that he would give me a gift card for free and had me write down my information. I did that and after I left I never got an email, call, or anything. Terrible customer service. Most servers have been wonderful but my server that day does not have the skill set required to work in customer service and the manager lies and holds false promises to make you feel heard in the moment. read more

After 5 weeks I decided to call again to see what's going on with my refund on the way. Was able to talk to Terence(GM) and offered me cash if I can stop by in their restaurant. When I got there few hours after no one knows what I'm talking about. The District manager I believe Brian is the name said that he'll get in touch with Terence. The Southwest Chicken Bowl was awesome (I love how all of the flavors blend together) and our server, Kelly, was great too. Kelly was very friendly and personable, something that was very much appreciated after being on the road for ten hours. I stopped in while traveling to grab a bite for dinner because I figured it would be a safe bet. The place was almost empty so I figured I would receive great service.....but boy was I wrong. It all started with a drink order gone wrong. I selected a drink from their menu but neither bartender had a clue how to make it. After spending countless minutes rifling through index cards and asking managers, I asked to switch my drink. My second drink order was very basic but they didn't have the ingredients. I opted for a third selection (draft beer) which I figured would be easy only to be given a glass of half foam. I ordered a small appetizer for my meal which took forever to receive. The quality of the food was lacking and the place was absolutely freezing inside. When I asked for my receipt, I had to remind the server that I actually didn't get the drink that was listed on the ticket. My wife likes to come here and so I get to come here too. The service is usually pretty good and they are friendly here but the food is just not that good. I'm not saying it's terrible because it's not, but I don't think it's worth what they charge and honestly they don't charge a lot. The food mostly seems like it's been frozen and reheated is my first issue with it and the second issue with it is that often times the food is not served hot and rather just barely warm. There are a couple of good things we get when we come here and that is the boneless BBQ wings with Bleu cheese, the French Onion soup and their mozzarella cheese sticks. If you get dragged here by friends or family that is what I'd recommend but honestly I'd recommend heading elsewhere here in Marysville. read more

My husband and I thought we would try Applebee's for lunch today, 9/3/2023, and we're waiting for them to open. At 10:59am, we went to the doors and waited for them to open at 11:00am. By 11:07am, the doors were still locked so we decided to go to another restaurant. In my opinion, if you can't open your doors when you are supposed to, you don't deserve my business. I ordered the new Quesadilla Chicken Salad from the Marysville, Ohio Applebees and was very disappointed. The lettuce was old and wilted and I had to eat around it and try to only get the toppings. There was no dressing included (I didn't see an option when ordering through Door Dash to pick a dressing unless I wanted extra) so it was also very dry. I've been here a few times over the years, and, well, it's Applebee's: chainy, decent for what it is, a safe choice but not amazing. This time, service was very good. The place was half full on a weekday afternoon, mostly with older people. Older than me, and I'm getting old. It's nice inside, dark and comfy. I was indecisive and ended up with a build-your-own app combo. I chose sriracha shrimp, spinach artichoke dip, double crunch wings with Thai sauce, and potstickers. The shrimp were not very hot; there was a slight sriracha flavor, but not enough. They were soggy, and just not nearly as good as I'd hoped they'd be. The potstickers were just okay- small, not very flavorful, and on a bed of salad that may have been just for appearances, but which I ate to try to offset the other stuff I was putting in myself. The wings were pretty good- decent flavor from the sauce, okay otherwise. The dip was the star, and frankly it was only just above average. Nothing was super flavorful. I left full, but not quite satisfied. I was reminded why I don't come in very often- it's just not that special. read more

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Let's start with lousy parking (shared with others in a strip mall), and slow, uninterested and inattentive service, awful food (do they have a grill or it is all microwaved), slow to nonexistent bar service, and when you ask about allergies, they give you their training book so you can figure it out yourself. I've been to other Applebee's; this is one is by far the worst I'll found. After several tries, we're done. Every single time we've come, hoping for a better experience, they find new ways to disappoint. Nothing is fresh, everything is frozen, Chef Mic gets a lot of work here. "Steaks" are so thin it's impossible to know what you're going to get. There's a lack of seasoning and flavor across the board. The servers are overly friendly or won't give you the time of day. My guess is they pool tips because none of them have a truly professional profile. It's like perpetual high school, with the servers literally gossiping about each other and guests every chance they get. I wish I could say it's uncommon to see the wait staff clustered together, laughing and carrying on; it's typically the rule. My recommendation is if you're looking to eat at Applebee's, drive another 20 minutes to Dublin. Otherwise, skip this outlet as there are plenty of much better places to go in Marysville. read more

I want to help get their ratings go up! We have eaten here twice in the the last week and everything was very good, we don't eat out all that often we use meal service. However, we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel an we have no complaints whatsoever the service was fine and so was our food. What a $hit Show!!!!! We went in Saturday night a bit after 7. They close at 8? Went to the bar, there was no wait line and only 5 people at the bar. The bartender ignored us and we didn't even get a beer for OVER 20 Minutes!!! The speakers are in the bar area, there apparently are none in the other parts of the restaurant, were so excessively loud we had to shout our order. I asked for the manager and he explained, much to my chagrin, that whoever was playing the jukebox, from their phone app, controls the volume and he could not turn it down. WTF? We came at 6:15 on a Saturday night. Considering COVID and the reduction of seating, the wait wasn't long...less than 10 minutes. Was taken to a high table and we asked to move to a booth due to my bad back. They seemed confused and told us we'd have to wait outside longer. We asked for an estimate on time and they shrugged. We advised we would just leave and then suddenly the big booth in the corner was offered. We seated and ordered. The waitress was very nice but the speed tonight was slooooooow! Came here with family for our last night in town from Texas. Went early since we have an early flight and did not want to be up late. Ordered 3 kids meals, served them last. 1 burger with a side of broccoli and 4 orders of their AYCE wings/riblets/shrimp. Seated with no wait. Took 45 minutes for drinks and straws, then another 20 for our food. No drink refill provided. Took 40 minutes for our refill, which was 5 shrimp or sauced nuggets. Riblets were burned. Sauce was not evenly distributed. Sweet tea was weak. Refused the refill since it took so long and my nephews were getting very tired. Waiter disappeared, manager had to cash us out. I've always liked Applebee's for the food. The past two years however they are always closed before 6 when we get there. I drive from Bellefontaine today cause it said they were open on the website. Got there and they are closed. This is the third time in 3 years they have been closed due to not having enough staff. This is getting ridiculous. Absolutely horrible. I have serious allergies to everything they cannot make a burger by itself without burning it. They do not clean their jiggers or anything they use to make drinks. I watched them for an hour make multiple drinks out of the same jiggers and shot glasses without washing them!! How was that safe for people with allergies?! Do not eat here if you are allergic to anything...they obviously cannot grasp the importance of people's allergies. I left with an itchy throat, nose, and eyes!! Blame it on the 'chain' mentality or what have you, but this location is terrible and I will never come back to this place. The food is usually terrible, overcooked, and you can almost always count on it being cold from waiting under the heat lamps too long while your server was doing... whatever. What killed it for me was that all of our food was brought out cold from being forgotten about, and the manager fixed this by microwaving them and using the "hot plates" line to signal your food has been overcooked to oblivion.. My husband and I decided to go to Applebees for our anniversary. BIG MISTAKE! When we walked in the door, a couple was talking to the hostess about a "situation." The couple did ask the hostess to be a witness for the insurance company if needed. I am not sure what that was about, but it should have been our sign to LEAVE! The waitress was okay, just not very friendly or engaging. She was seemed irritated that we took our time ordering, but with four kids we are never fast. I ordered ribs, broccoli, and fries. My ribs were a tiny portion, and overcooked - not worth the price. My broccoli was awful and did not taste clean. And, my fries were cold and soggy. My husband did mention his portion size to the manager, when the manager asked. And, my husband was given more ribs. I do not think I would return to this restaurant. And, apparently, the rest of Marysville agrees. We were there at 5:30, and we left at about 7:00. There were just about ten other customers at the time. Most of the other places in town are busy at this time of day. Why not Applebee's??? read more
