Tyler took care of my order to make sure that I still got the credit applied and I was able to enjoy a delicious grilled cheese with spiral fries. And a cold refreshing lemonade. The grilled cheese was cooked perfectly with the little Panini press lines and the spiral fries are so good. This place was delicious! The Guinness onion dip threw me off a little being cold, but dipping the kettle chips with it was on point. I usually don't go with sausage entrées that much, but after reading about the Irish coddle, I had to try it. I loved everything about that dish, and would order it again. I really wanted to try the shepherds pie, but I do not like lamb personally. I tried a bite of my husband's bangers and mash that was delicious too. We chose this restaurant because we had never tried their food, and because we had the Nebraska Beer & Wine Passport coupon to use. Our server was very friendly and gave some great options for food because I had never had bangers and mash before. I'm not a huge potato person really, but the Guinness gravy kicked up the potatoes a notch. The sausage was very flavorful as well. Needed a quick and inexpensive lunch spot while traveling. All burgers are $8.99 on Mondays - good deal. Just us in the joint, so service was quick. Food came out hot and fresh. The Irish burger combine a burger, corned beef, slaw, and melted Swiss. The burger was good, but as I finished I realized that the burger part was some sort of highly processed meat (and potentially contained soy). I paid dearly later with an allergic reaction to something that I ate there. I would have paid more for a hand pressed 100% fresh beef burger. Disappointing First Visit - Wouldn't Recommend We came to Lincoln to move our daughter into UNL and decided to try this restaurant since it was close to our hotel. Unfortunately, what looked promising turned into a frustrating experience. We stood at the entrance for several minutes before being acknowledged. Once seated, our waitress took our drink order--two teas and a Coke--but never mentioned that refills would be charged. We ordered three burgers and an appetizer, then waited over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. During that time, we received drink refills without any warning of extra charges. I also witnessed a staff member behind the bar inspecting a burger and touching it with bare hands before it was served. When the food finally came, one burger was missing mushrooms, another had BBQ sauce on it despite our request for it on the side, and the appetizer arrived late. The waitress did apologize and offered either a dessert or 10% off, which we appreciated. But when the bill came, we were surprised to see charges for every drink refill. We were told this was standard procedure--even though we saw the waitress prepare some of them herself. As first-time guests, we felt misled and taken advantage of. If refills aren't complimentary, that should be made clear upfront. We won't be returning, and I won't be recommending this place to other UNL parents. Disappointing all around. read more

NEVER Going Back! Where do I even begin? Last night i went out for dinner and this place was a disaster from start to finish. First off, my food came out wrong, not once, but TWICE! How hard is it to get an order right? A simple burger!!! Both times it had to be sent back to the kitchen, when everyone else ate their dinner i was left with nothing. By the time it got back everyone else had finished eating. I just got a to-go box and didn't even get up finishing it. And don't even get me started on the service. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone's attention. The staff seemed more interested in their phones or gossiping in the corner than actually doing their jobs. To top it all off, I spotted not one, not two, but THREE cockroaches scurrying around. Seriously?! The atmosphere was awful, the food was gross and way overpriced. one of my favorite places in the haymarket! came here with my husband to watch the CWS game. plenty of TVs and a good mix of food on the menus!! for food i got the corona fish tacos which has a good flavor alongside their kettle cooked chips :) my husband got the pulled pork sandwich, which he deeply enjoyed! for drinks, their moscow mule is always a hit! they also have a good spread of beers and other cocktails you can order. they do have mango cart from goldenrod brewery which is one of my faves! this place as a whole though is so fun! good vibe for a sports bar or just to catch up with people. the service was great with always asking if we want another drink or order anymore food. a great feature of this place too is the whole front is a garage door style so the entire place can be opened up to the downtown haymarket :) overall another great experience :) read more

I took a day out of my travels to hang out in Lincoln and while walking around I came across this cool Irish pub. It was lunch time and the menu looked promising so I walked in. I was greeted by the friendly staff and started perusing the menu. The Shepards pie caught my eye and boy am I glad it did. Best. Shepards. Pie. Ever. They make it lamb and it's delicious. Went to try the fish and chips. Disappointing. The breading was thin, which I like, but fish also thin. "Chips" are the their standard fries - a thick spiral fry, parts always a bit charred. Tartar sauce was gross - sweet, like honey. I had malt vinegar (took them to go) which helped. I didn't finish them. $15 The bar has a great slection of bourbons. Soccer was on the tvs, with clear true fans watching. Wait staff fast and attentive. Bar gets a higher score (4), fish and chips a hard pass. read more

The bouncer was very rude, we came in with 3 college students and 2 younger adults the bouncer stopped us and fully patted us down. The bar service was as slow as any of the bars in Lincoln and charged 8.50 for a beer which is much higher than anything in haymarket. It comes with bread and this jam thing which is also pretty good. All that for $10 which is really cheap! the drinks are affordable too. The bar was pretty full when we got there but our bartender was great at checking up on us, getting our orders, and my food on time. Love that they have different kinds of Jameson at the bar. I went to this bar with my gf and some of her work friends last night and it was a fun bar. After a work get-together at around 9pm, we ended up on the second floor at McKinney's. They have a few tables and a dart board. It was nice and separate from the rest of the bar. It was a happening place. Nobody seemed to be over-served, but it was only 9-11pm that we were there. The bar tender and waitresses were nice and on the ball with the drinks. I would come back to try their other whiskey's. I had a pour of the Jameson 18 and it wasn't too bad. read more

Figured the Irish pub would have a decent reuben, but not so much. Delivery was on time and glad it was open during covid, but I unfortunately won't be doing that again. Super dry, stringy meat. WAY too much sauerkraut and minimal sauce. Extremely underwhelming. Oh and the soggy "fries" were also very bad. No amount of ranch could save these. And not exactly sure how, but they even messed up the pickle. Wanted this to be good, but probably won't be back to try this place again. Five stars for being a great bar with spot on service EVERY TIME. There's a great staff who personally greet my buddies and I every time we walk in. Lauren, Lucy Aaron and Tim are my favorites, The owner is a cool dude too. The food is lacking. Their corned beef is average at best and the sandwiches are nothing to write home about. First of all, I have to say that we found the seating uncomfortable. The base of the high top tables are wide barrels which leave no legroom, so we had to hunch over really far to get to our food, and we kept banging our legs into the barrel, which was wobbly to begin with. While we were waiting for our food, the smarmy blond bartender decided to open up the large "garage" doors behind us. We had elected to sit inside, eschewing the available outdoor seating due to the extreme humidity that afternoon. As we were the only customers staying inside, it would have been courteous for him to ask our preference, but alas, he did not. After he opened the doors, we were immediately made sweaty and uncomfortable for the rest of the meal, and were surrounded by a swarm of flies. The food was extremely bland for the most part. We had shepherd's pie, which tasted of rosemary, but nothing else. We had to add a large amount of salt and pepper to wring any flavor at all out of the dish. We also tried the corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef was served in a shredded style and was acceptable quality and quantity if not exceptional in taste. Unfortunately the accompanying cabbage and potatoes were dreadful. They were quite over cooked and very bland except for the awful aftertaste from...beer? Overall we prefer the atmosphere, the staff, the tables, and especially the food more at the other Irish pub across the street. read more
