I've been going to this nail salon for a number of years. I usually buy a basic manicure and…read morepedicure, sometimes a deluxe. Usually with polish. When the original owner had the salon, I was always very pleased with the treatment, the way the staff interacted with clients and the quality of the service. The salon has changed hands at least once or twice since the original owner had a baby and sold it. I read on Google that a lot of people are pleased with the remodel, the new ownership. Initially, after the service for me was still top-notch. During the last year, it has gone downhill. There's an air of it not being as clean, the floor and furniture not as clean or the salon just not as well cared for. The staff is not as friendly or welcoming as they used to be. There's constant speaking in a different language, very little eye contact or interaction with clients. And all the familiar friendly nail technicians have left. Even more disturbing, the last three times I've been there I've been injured. Just in small ways, but my skin cut, the electric file tearing my cuticles, really rough handling and digging, painful cleaning and trimming of my nails. I have flinched quite a few times and they don't react or apologize. To me this is lack of supervision and training. Honestly, sometimes I think it has to do with the fact that I don't get the expensive manicures, the gels, etc. I like to have my nails done well and then buffed, oiled and shined . They don't seem to value that. So after the last three visits, I won't be going back to Sole Lounge. Which is unfortunate because I live in the area and this is convenient. I hope you have better experiences there than I have lately.

She did a great consult, listened, and made sure I was happy with the finished cut and color. She also did a great job with my brows! The salon is in a remodeled older house with beautiful natural light and big windows. I felt like I was at somebody's home, having a chat, and getting dolled up. It was wonderful after a year of "pandemic chic" hairstyle! Sarah and the staff there were great with COVID safety precautions. I waited outside until my turn and got the text to go in. Once inside, we all wore masks the entire time, and staff kept areas sanitized and clean. Parking is around back and street side as well. Side note: The shop is conveniently located close to some of my favorite food stops too - so girl's day out to pamper myself was a resounding success!

Marina offers online scheduling and she really does book out at least a month in advance. You can, however, find last minute appointments if you really stalk her online scheduling site. I see Marina for a brazilian, inner thigh, and eyebrow wax. Not only is Marina meticulous and thorough but she is FAST. Like, less than 20 minutes and your brazilian is finito! She makes an ordinarily painful process absolute painless. Going to see Marina is like going to hang out with a girlfriend who just happens to be a master at waxing. The first was last year for my boyfriends birthday, I bought him a massage and 30 minutes of stretching. They didn't actually stretch him, but did an extra 30 minutes of massage, but we didn't complain. It was whatever. This time, we finally were vaccinated. We were treating ourselves, woke up just to head that way, got in, and waited 10 minutes past our appointment time before they finally let us know that one of our masseuses hadn't shown up. They offered us 20% off a future service, but that was pretty much it and sent us on our way. My boyfriend pointed out that if we had cancelled, we would have had to pay 50%, but I won't speak more on that. We were lucky to get in the following weekend for a couples massage, but they weren't very accommodating to our schedule even though they initially cancelled on us. After we had already driven there. The massage we got was great, my masseuse was more about applying pressure than actual massage, which isn't usually my thing, but I have so much relief from it so I can't complain. My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his massage. As far as our service went, it was great. I'm just not sure I would continue coming back here since it hasn't been the greatest experience.
