Back of Bottle ColorSpace color and Free Rein Curl Cream!! Love it!

I highly recommend trying their new line called "Back of Bottle"... the color is fantastic and lasts much longer than the previous kind used and the "Free Rein Curl Cream" is the best product I have ever tried for my curls! It made them much more defined while still leaving my hair soft to the touch! I bought 2 bottles

This spot had great reviews and was literally around the corner so it was worth a try. A little more expensive than my current wax, but my time and energy was worth more than saving a couple dollars. This place is it. It's amazing. Such a cool, welcoming space. So clean. And Meg? She's amazing. Also, she's 100% worth the price because she's so thorough and careful. You really do get what you pay for, and after my appointment with her, the price is MORE than fair for what you get. She was so friendly, so welcoming, and made me feel so comfortable. As someone who has gotten waxed a long time, I can appreciate that, but I can only imagine what it would be like going to her for the first time, probably one of the best experiences! Highly, highly recommend.

I have super sensitive skin and am very picky about where I get waxed because I've had some gnarly experiences. I cannot recommend J3 enough. Meg is a dream and she's always willing to work with me to accommodate my schedule when I forget to make an appointment and it's a last minute wax emergency. Some major pros: They use a spray to help with the pain up front They use a special lotion and will send you home with a packet of it that has special antibacterial properties to help with healing They sell some great products so it's a great little on stop shop They're super close to clementines so you can treat yourself to an ice cream for going through the wax. I've always had great experiences, but this last visit really stood out. Mary was my therapist, and she was absolutely wonderful. Her energy was so calming and welcoming from the moment I arrived. She was incredibly kind, accommodating, and took the time to really understand what I wanted to get out of my appointment. It was clear she genuinely cared about providing the best experience possible. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already looking forward to booking with her again. The only downside was that my appointment started about 15 minutes late because the client before me arrived late, which pushed the entire schedule back. Unfortunately, I had another commitment afterward and couldn't stay later, so I ended up losing part of my appointment time. I understand that delays happen, but I think a better solution would be to either reschedule significantly late clients or shorten their appointment so the rest of the day's schedule isn't impacted. It was disappointing to lose time from my service due to circumstances outside of my control. That said, Mary handled the situation with professionalism and made the most of the time we had. Her excellent care more than made up for the delay, and I'll definitely be returning.

I booked a custom facial with additional massage. I told the esthetician that I have sensitive skin and to please adjust products accordingly. She told me I was wrong and didn't have sensitive skin. I should have left then but I thought once she looked at it under the light she would see I was correct. Oh how I was wrong. I even told her during the facial that my skin was a tingly and felt funny. Im kicking myself for not getting up and leaving then too. So now I'm having to schedule a dermatology appointment because my skin looks like strawberry. It is red and itchy and burns. They may do ok with skin that isn't sensitive but I don't recommend even trying it with sensitive skin. Also don't add on the additional massage. It wasn't a real massage. Pressure was light and that is being generous. It felt more like she was putting lotion on my skin. With all the places in St Louis, I would find a different place for a facial and massage.

I tipped $200 and thanked the staff, but I want to share feedback because this business has real potential. Unfortunately, due to several fatal flaws, they've lost a high-value, repeat spa customer who frequently gifts spa experiences. I hope ownership takes this seriously and makes improvements. First, the entrance is difficult to find. There is no clear signage, and the only visible gate says "welcome" but is shut. Once we found the correct entrance, the steps were covered in months of dead leaves, completely obstructing them leaving an unsafe, unprofessional, and ugly entrance. Fixing would cost 5 minutes. Upon entering, we were not greeted warmly or offered water, tea, or wine--standard at this price point. We were simply told to remove our shoes. We had to ask for water, which was served in a tiny cup with no carafe to refill ourselves. The waiting area was visually nice but had absolutely no music, creating an awkward, tense atmosphere instead of relaxing. We arrived early to change into robes, as I confirmed over the phone, but none were offered, we had to ask. The robes were old, worn. It was also 90 degrees, and the AC was off. After an awkward exchange where they said they could turn it on "if we wanted," we said YES but it was never turned on it seems. I discover that music was handled individually by each therapist on their personal phones, which led to interruptions when switching providers. Notifications disrupted the experience, and one therapist clearly didn't review my intake form. I had to stop her mid-session to change the music from loud lo-fi to the healing frequencies I had requested. It made the intake form feel pointless. My facial was extremely disappointing. The esthetician needs severe coaching, she used harsh, fast movements that were stressful rather than relaxing. She used Kleenex on my face, which broke apart during use, and did not fully remove exfoliant before continuing, causing gritty residue to be rubbed into my skin. During the enzyme, she left me alone instead of providing a neck or shoulder massage, which is standard. The paraffin treatment involved an awkward wax-filled glove that was difficult to use and poorly applied. The massage started without consideration of my intake form. The therapist immediately worked on my inner thigh: an area I explicitly marked as off-limits due to a serious injury. I had to stop her. While her technique was otherwise good, she made loud, constant hissing and huffing noises, which were distracting and uncomfortable. Bringing me to the most frustrating issue: I had clearly requested separate rooms when booking, and this was confirmed. Instead, we were placed in the same room without acknowledgment, explanation, or apology. I didn't speak up because I didn't want to disrupt my sister's experience, but this was a major breach of expectation. Upon checkout, the staff member remained seated, made minimal eye contact, and showed little appreciation. The overall customer service felt cold and disengaged. I will not be returning, but I hope this feedback is taken seriously. With better attention to detail, communication, and professionalism, this business could significantly improve and retain customers like me.

I really wanted to love my experience here because the salon itself is absolutely beautiful, and…read moreevery staff member I interacted with was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the actual service I received was not what I paid for. I booked and paid $90 specifically for a curly haircut, which is a reasonable price in this area for a true curly specialist service. However, what I received felt more like a standard haircut rather than a curly cut. Before the appointment started, I thoroughly explained what I was hoping to achieve: more curl definition lasting beyond wash day, guidance on styling techniques, and a haircut tailored specifically for curly hair. Despite this, my hair was cut wet rather than dry, and there was no curl-by-curl shaping or specialized curly cutting technique used at all. As the appointment continued, several things made me question the stylist's experience level with curly hair. My stylist, Anna, seemed unprepared for the appointment. While styling, my hair was already drying and becoming frizzy in the front before products were even fully applied, and I had to point out that it needed to be re-wet. She also did not have her own diffuser and had to borrow one from coworkers. I had specifically mentioned that curl creams tend to weigh my hair down, but one was still used during styling. The diffusing process itself was also very uncomfortable, as I was instructed to hang the lower half of my body off the chair so my neck rested against the back of it. By the time my hair was almost fully dry, it honestly looked very similar to how it did when I walked in -- like I had showered, slept on wet hair, and done nothing else to style it. That was extremely disappointing after paying for a professional curly hair service. Anna could tell I was unhappy, and to her credit, she was kind and tried to fix things by washing the product out and attempting a blowout instead. Unfortunately, I still left with poorly styled hair. The face-framing pieces were going in different directions, and the overall result did not look professionally styled. I do want to emphasize that Anna herself was very sweet and pleasant throughout the appointment. However, when charging $90 for a curly haircut, a certain level of expertise and preparation is expected, and I do not feel that level of skill or knowledge was there. When booking, I specifically told the salon owner I was looking for an experienced curly hair specialist. I was told Anna was newer to the salon but had experience with curly hair and many happy clients. I truly hope this experience was just a one-off, but based on the multiple issues throughout the appointment, it did not feel like someone with advanced curly hair knowledge or technique. The owner did initially reach out afterward to try to rectify the situation, which I appreciated. However, after I responded, I unfortunately never heard back again. I had been very excited to come here because I've heard so many wonderful things about the salon, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I truly hope they take this feedback seriously because the salon itself has a great atmosphere and very kind staff.
