When he and his crew arrived to load, they placed things in the truck without padding and without securing them with straps. We had to go in and place padding around furniture and secure, delicate items with straps. It was a nightmare. When the truck arrived at the destination, the Two Men And A Truck company who were unloading, opened the back and said what? Did the Packers hate them? They had placed very heavy items in the wrong order and had not put nearly enough protective blankets on things in spite of our best efforts to mitigate this. We lost pieces of furniture and it was all because this head loader didn't get a paid vacation to visit his parents.

Avoid Two Men and a Truck in Burlington, VT: use literally any other mover. They do not meet the…read morestandards of other Two Men and a Truck locations, and they cost me over $7,000 in damaged furniture, lost equipment, and doubled shipping costs because they packed the truck so poorly. It cost them over $2,000 to load a 2-bedroom house. The team that unloaded it in Minnesota - just $400. I've used Two Men and a Truck in Philadelphia with great results, nothing broken, kind and efficient, so when I needed to move to MN, I called the Burlington location. After being quoted around $20,000 for a full-service move, the manager suggested I save money by having them load a U-Pack truck instead. With U-Pack, you pay by the foot, so efficient vertical packing is critical. I estimated 13 feet, expecting to go slightly over. U-Pack assured me that with professional movers, I should come in close to the estimate. Instead, the Burlington crew packed everything flat, with no stacking--using 26 feet, double my estimate. Compare my photos to the ones in their own advertising. It's not even close. When the U-Pack driver arrived, he told me it was the worst packing job he had ever seen and asked if I had done it myself. He warned me that with nothing secured, my furniture would likely be destroyed in transit. The Two Men and a Truck team I hired to unload in Minnesota said the exact same thing--and told me repeatedly how sorry and ashamed they were that another Two Men and a Truck franchise had done this. To make it worse, the Burlington crew refused to load my elliptical (over $3,000), claiming the ramp wasn't safe after trying to lift it with straps. I had told them upfront it was heavy. They left it on my back patio with no way for me to move it back inside, hire another mover on no notice, or get it to storage. I sold it on Facebook for $180 just to unload it. Two older guys picked it up days later and loaded it onto a trailer in minutes, no trouble at all. The U-Pack driver's warning was right. When the truck was unloaded: * Dining chairs thrown in uncovered, completely scratched * Credenza with broken legs * Bookshelf with broken legs * Dresser mirror badly scratched from poor wrapping * Multiple boxes crushed by unsecured furniture, contents broken I called Mike at the Burlington location. He refunded part of the cost because the crew had also overcharged me--but when I told him what the U-Pack driver said, he brushed it off as the driver "covering himself" and insisted that since nothing was broken when it went in the truck, any damage was the driver's fault. That logic is absurd. If I set a coffee on the dashboard and it flies into my lap on the first turn, that's not the driver's fault--that's mine for putting it there unsecured. All in: roughly $7,000 lost between extra shipping, the abandoned elliptical, and damaged furniture. I've had excellent experiences with Two Men and a Truck in Rochester, MN, and Philadelphia. This is a Burlington-specific problem with zero accountability for their errors. Shop around. Do not use this location. You'll overcharge, lose furniture, and pay double for your U-Pack truck. Photos of the truck, the damage, and the abandoned elliptical are attached.

He does, in fact, have a boss…read more At least if you're contracting an out of state move. To say this was one of the most violating experiences of my life isn't an understatement. We only contracted them for a local move and storage. When we shopped around, because their interstate quote was high, they became aggressive. They started charging retaliatory fees, refusing to release our things, amid constant harassment. This was only resolved after contacting the attorney general and the CEO of their interstate partner company on the advice of counsel. I'd like to mention I have proof of every interaction. In writing. If you care below is the breakdown of what happened. I was living in Ferrisburgh Vermont and every attempt to contract something like U-box or Pods was met with my address was out of their service areas. On a recommendation from my contractor I went with a local mover, Chase moving. Our family planned to travel for the year so we were going to move our things to a U-Haul storage and have them move our things wherever we ended up when the year was done. Chase moving and storage for the local move was wonderful and knowing our plans mentioned they also did storage, would we like to bundle it? Sure, why not. We pre paid the year. But spoke specifically about the fact we'd shop for the best price when it came to an interstate move, Ron acknowledge this later in writing. Due to our dog not handling traveling well we cut our year short. I contacted Chase and they were responsive, sent over a quote. After a little research I found their quote was significantly above the national average for weight and size. I shopped around like a responsible consumer Upon telling him he laughed at me, told me he was going to charge me 1500 in warehouse handling fees and so he'd still be cheaper. I would like to mention warehouse handling fees were in my original contract. Due to his dishonest dealings and disrespect I decided to continue with the new company. Enter retaliatory fees, sabotage, and harassment. Ron tried to say I was a silly woman who was ignorant and didn't realize brokers could be dishonest. He didn't know in writing my quote exactly reflected his for weight and size. They had quoted be based off his exact measurement of the move. Which of course, I have in writing. The other company alleges he never let them see the move, told them it was twice the size. Said he quoted me 2K less than he did and I'd been difficult and trying to hurt his business. They charged me 1800 dollars for showing up. So that's 1800 from them, an additional 1500 from him. In writing he told 3 different stories from his side for why they didn't pick my things up. He then sent me an inflated quote more than his initial quote and gave me less than 24 hours to accept. I didn't. He then said I couldn't pick up my things myself due to insurance reasons, and my contractor couldn't pick up my things despite having the insurance he requested. This is about when I contacted outside regulatory bodies. After I did then came the harassment from his office manager. She told me I owed money for monthly storage. Then ILLEGALLY charged my card without authorization. Ron then tried to tell the attorney general again I was a silly ignorant woman, I had verbally told them I didn't want them to charge my card but hadn't put it in writing. So I produced the email with receipt in which I had indeed revoked authorization for my card in writing. The money was immediately returned. His office manager began writing me emails into the night 7 or 8 pm for me so 9 or 10 pm for them. She tried to get me to say I refused to pay for my storage I assume in an attempt to entrap me and forfeit my ENTIRE household. I just kept responding I paid in full (of course producing receipts). She only stopped her harassment after I again contacted upper management of Wheaton and then wrote an email retracting her claims, admitting I was paid ahead. I would like to thank his boss, Wheaton Moving, for ultimately resolving this ethically.
