We live in Abilene and decided to reserve a room on a weekday so my toddler could swim and just have some fun family time. The room was very reasonably priced. We arrived and front desk staff was very polite. The room was very clean. We ended up having a noise issue in the room next door. It was a mechanical issue with the a/c or something. The staff was amazing. Maintenance was so nice. They got me a new room immediately, helped me get all my things to the new room, and were extremely apologetic. At Happy Hour, the bartender was so nice. She acknowledged I was there with my toddler and if she could help to make things more convenient for me, to just ask. The next morning, the breakfast staff was so sweet. They went out of their way accommodate my son. They got him a kids cup with a straw without me requesting it. They made suggestions of foods he would like. The pool was extremely clean. The entire facility is super clean. Very impressed and will definitely be staying her again. We loved it so much we decided to stay another night. I'm extremely impressed with the cleanliness and the staff. read more

The staff was friendly and they gave us free breakfast and 4 free drinks but the air conditioning in the room did nothing (it was set to 60 and stayed a constant 70-72) and the fan didn't work and we alerted the front desk and they said they would send some one up to fix it but when we returned no one had fixed the fan. And if you like the smell of pool chemicals then you would love the smell of out side of the hotel by pool door and inside the pool but other than that the hotel is beautiful and friendly staff. read more

Pros: This hotel was beautiful and charming. Twinkling lights throughout lend a soft and welcoming atmosphere as did the lush greenery planted throughout. The doors to the rooms have a nice western villa look and although our door looked out at the ballroom, there were privacy curtains to prevent looky-loos. Rooms were large and comfy. Two tvs in two rooms so kids could watch their own channels. Bathroom had 2 doors for easy access from either room. Lots of good parking and nice pet area for potty. Nice starbucks on premise with the best carrot cake I ever had! Pool was lovely and indoors. Tons of stuff to do on premise. Breakfast was free and lots of choices from hot food to bagels/muffins, fruit, and yogurt. Tables and stations attended by 3 different roving staff today: Dena- super sweet enthusiastic and helpful lady- Rae and Sammy were very polite and cleared dishes from table. Even though people were outside our door, we couldnt hear them that much. Beds super comfy. And the best part: your canine family members are welcomed. Cons: kids were running unattended in the ballroom and upstairs halls despite posted signs not to do so. But falls to negligent parents. Game room games need the volume lowered-SUPER LOUD and annoying. Front desk check in took half an hour....and only 1 person in front of us!! Only 1 attendant, older lady, and process took way too long. While bkfast was nice, most of the hot food was cold, biscuits so dry they fell apart when I tried buttering them and sausage was paper thin and tasted like jerky. Bacon was great, pancakes good but cold, pototoes not so great. I would stay here again for sure though; the atmosphere was unique and most staff had that Texas welcome down pat. read more

I made reservations here for a birthday party for my 12 year old daughter. The staff was amazing and so friendly. We received a free breakfast for every guest as well as 4 free alcohol or non alcoholic drinks per adult. We used the pool for about three hours and the girls had a blast. They allowed us to hold the party in the main sitting area for free and then we had connecting rooms that were very clean and we enjoyed our stay! read more

Nice time in town for a work trip. The hotel is a bit old but well kept. It's close to everything you might need and has easy access from and to most quick arrival and departure routes. Only thing I would recommend is run the water for a while before using it and keep some bottled water for drinking. The pipes are rusty and spit brown water for a bit lol read more

I should have read Yelp reviews before booking! We checked in, hauled all our luggage to our 3rd floor rooms and I had a very positive attitude because so far it looked like a nice place. Then I tried to turn on the water! Oh...."well, it's turned off for repairs and should be on in about a half hour." To heck with the fact that I had just made an 8 hour drive and had to be at the funeral home in less than 2 hours! Fortunately, I have family in the area!! When we got back, I returned to being somewhat optimistic until I found nothing to set my suitcase on and mildew on the shower wall! I am extremely disappointed!!! read more

This is the LOUDEST hotel I have ever been to in my life. The rooms are ok. The bathrooms small. It smells like someone was chain smoking in the room. The beds are comfortable which doesn't matter because you won't get any sleep for the noise. I'm writing this review at 10pm, listening to kids run up and down the corridor screaming playing hide and seek. There is a band playing somewhere in the hotel, and because it's an atrium it sounds like it's in the room. Had I known it was party central, I'd have gone elsewhere. Room not clean. After a 14 hour drive we get there at 10:45 pm - bedding had to be replaced. Food in bed. Disgusting. Hair in the shower and sink. AC did not work. Breakfast was average. Screaming kids in courtyard all hours and bedroom doors face the courtyard. Carpet in room had not been vacuumed-there were toys on floor from last guests. Emailed general manager. Update: manager contacted me within 24 hours and was very apologetic and made it right. read more

Where do I start? Check in was anything but swift and easy but it was Thanksgiving so we didn't let it effect the tone of our trip. The room was very nice and the bed comfortable. However, service as indicated at check in was VERY poor! First, a stiff, used hand towel was found located on the floor next to the recliner that had obviously been used for personal pleasure and over looked by house keeping. We stayed 2 nights, housekeeping never came to bring clean towels, toiletries, coffee or take out trash. My husband went looking for housekeeping because neither phone in the room worked to contact the front desk. The housekeeper came handed us towels and let's just say neither person spoke English so communication of our needs was impossible. We decided to just go to the local grocer and purchase what we needed including coffee. My husband stopped at the front desk to obtain coffee cups no help there and as he walked away shaking his head, finally the assistant manger came to his aid. We decided to go down to the lounge for a cocktail which was difficult to obtain because the bartender was busy as evidenced by the photo. The music was so loud you couldn't talk with the person next to you. It appears the lounge caters to the locals and not hotel guests. While the hotel is asthetically nice, we will not be back. Absolutely loved the Elegante we stayed at in Colorado, service was exceptional and we were looking forward to this stay but were very disappointed! Would not recommend. read more

This place is disgusting. Popcorn ceilings, dated decor, drafty extended "suite" and old linens and towels I checked out and have gone somewhere else at midnight. DON'T stay here if you are a hotel snob or if you like a clean room! We opened up the sofa bed and the mattress cover was dirty and dingy. This place is not being maintained. The Candlewood down the street which was opened in 2010 was 100times better! read more

Horribly loud and unaccommodating hotel. A party went on in the main ballroom (right outside my suite) until 10:30, and was hear-stoppingly loud. Also there was no parking because of all the special events, and the continental breakfast was okay. I never got hot water in the shower, and the coffee was dreadful. My 5yr old granddaughter and I spent a night there this past week. Every faucet in our room leaked and evidently this has been going on for some time. The floor behind the bathroom doors were dirty. There were weird noises all night , like sounds of a door slamming against the wall about every 15 minutes all night long and if it wasn't the door sound it was sounds like slapping on the bathroom floor above us! I stayed here several times in the mid to late 80's , can't say it has been improved since. Worst of all , my granddaughter woke up with a terrible rash all over her face and body from the filthy pool. She lost an earring in the pool and ask me to help her look for it, I couldn't see the bottom of the pool at the 3ft level! It was so murky! They clearly do not test the pool water daily! It was discussing ! I got her out immediately. I would ever recommend this place as it is. Sadly this used to be the nicest place to stay in Abilene. read more

We stayed on the weekend of the 18th 19th 2019 and when we got our room it had at least seven crickets in the room one was in the bed the other was in the clean towels in bathroom, drain was completely clogged in shower, kept having issues with our key cards not working, my boyfriends mother staying in another room had to get help from the desk twice because her key wouldn't work and she was locked out of her room. Breakfast was 2 out of four stars, coffee was weak so had to go to starbucks inside the hotel to get good strong coffee. Staff was very nice though, the amenities like the huge jetted tub in the presidential suite were nice, walls are paper thin unfortunately so you can hear everything if your neighbors are very noisy, bed was not supportive but everything was decorated pretty and nice furniture, staff at breakfast were very nice. Front desk was very nice. Room seemed fairly clean and very nice when we walked in minus crickets and clogged drain. A bittersweet experience, more sweet than bitter. May not stay here again though unless all other hotels are booked. read more

The 'outside' suites are quietest. Access is via a covered walkway next to the parking lot. Includes a living room/office/kitchenette room (this area is closest to door and parking lot), nice bathroom, and king bedroom. Very clean. Large flat screens in both main rooms. Restaurant is not great quality but certainly edible. Breakfast til 9am, the eggs are the only part truly cooked to order, the rest is just heated up, but it's still a good breakfast. Nice fitness area and pool. Great for longer term stays if you are working in this area. read more

The front desk was friendly and helpful and the room comes with free cooked-to-order breakfast in the mornings and free cocktails at a happy hour reception at night. This hotel may seem nice when you walk through the doors but from the minute my family and I begun to check in we have had nothing but problems. Room keys repeatedly not working, our 3 rooms so far away we break a sweat to walk to see each other and after booking first floor rooms 6 months in advance for my grandfather with emphysema they put us on the third floor with him close to the smoking rooms. They have showed my family and I nothing but disrespect, I do NOT! recommend this hotel. read more

Rooms are spacious, dated but decent. The free Happy Hour drinks are a joke but the server was nice. We are using the fold out couch tonight, the lining on the mattress has a small stain. The atrium inside is nice, adds for a cool atmosphere. The room isn't as cold as I like and doesn't seem like it's going to get there. The open space interior isn't conducive to a quiet stay. The pool looks nice, If you have kids and like to party this place is perfect, pool tables and shuffleboard etc. If you want a quiet night I'd choose something else. read more

Your room key will not work, even if u get 8 different ones. Just expect to be locked out and have to deal with a rude front desk lady. We have stayed here several times because my grandparents live in Abilene. Def nothing fancy, but it has a good location and a pretty good hot breakfast. The omelettes are good! It also has a fun little bar the locals come to for karaoke. The inside of the hotel is pretty with lots of trees and plants, as well as pool tables and an indoor swimming pool. With that being said, the rooms need to be updated for the price, popcorn ceilings and old fixtures. The rooms are true suites with a small kitchen, which is nice. You can actually close the bedroom door and not hear the tv in the living room area, which has a couch bed if needed. I just feel like it should be cheaper since the rooms feel old. read more

Would give a zero if I could. The girls at check in would rather gossip before greeting at arrival. Our wash clothes and towels spelt of mold and fish. The fitted sheet was so old and worn out we got into bed and the sheet was up under our pillows. We asked to have it remade the next morning, that evening and finally again the following morning with out and luck and gave up. We got new towels and wash clothes that half stunk too. There was no sheets for the pullout couch and when I asked for them they didn't have any. There was also a bug in the mattress when unfolded. They only had the coffee we got when we arrived but no replacements you had to walk down to the lobby to get any. The room smelt of stale cigarettes and the staff was half helpful. Kids running lose through the whole hotel including the outside up and down the stairs knocking and screaming. Thought I would give them a second chance until my final night but I won't be returning. One of the nicest hotels I thought is now very run down and poorly managed. read more

The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is because one of our sinks didn't drain all the way, and we didn't stay long enough to eat breakfast there, so I can't speak for the food. However we took our two kids to the Abilene zoo for spring break this week (came from Lubbock tx) and happened to stay at MCM rather than the Hilton garden inn because the outward appearance was way better. The staff was very accommodating on getting us a room short notice, and close to the pool like we asked. The room was very nice! Beds are soooo comfortable I considered stealing the blanket! A/C worked great, you get 4 free drinks a night, per adult, alcoholic beverages and our Bloody Mary and margarita were delicious! The hotel is close to all essentials, room was quiet (even on st Patrick's day). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone! read more

We are visiting family in Abilene and decided to take a night to ourselfs and relax. The hotel is very nice. Staff was great. The bar experience was terrible. We looked around for a hotel with a bar, we enjoy the night life. There were not many options, so we chose Elegante. I literally stood at the bar for 20 mins. With my cc in my hand. 3 bartenders walked by me numerous times with no acknowledgement at all. The bar was not that busy. I am in this business in Austin and I just really had to say something. I'm not that kind of person but really, that bar brings people in, and us kind of people spend money for a good night life. I wouldn't recommend or stay here again because of the service. We slept terribly. My kids were awaken at 3 am by drunk people in the corridor yelling and cussing for about 30 minutes. The pull out couch is extremely uncomfortable and the sheets had holes in them looked like they hadn't been changed at all. The beds in the room were comfortable but when we called for more blankets the lady was extremely rude and said she only had 1 in the whole hotel that she was allowed to give us. We had a birthday party for my daughter so we had 4 teenage girls 2 parents and 3 blankets. The pizza that apparently came with the package never came up at the time they said we had to call 3 times to get it. It finally arrived at 10 pm and was disgusting. Slopped everywhere. We ended up just ordering Dominos. The room service actually called back to our room to ask us how they make the drinks we ordered. We just cancelled. The indoor pool was okay but the hot tub we were unable to relax in. There was kids doing canninballs in it and splashing everyone in the face. Lots of unattended kids. The room smelled like smoke. They had a coffee pot with no filter when we called to get one they told us they didn't have them and hung up on me! The breakfast was cold. I will never stay here again. We came in for a funeral and had high expectations from this hotel. We were sadly disappointed, and our stay was awful, for the most part. The pros are that the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are large, and you get four free drinks per person in the evening.... that's where it ends.... the evening and night shift fdsrs suck. They're extremely rude and have serious attitude problems. The indoor pool is locked, which is good, however, it is guarded by a "pool monitor" which consists of a man who looks like he is a gang member and has no lifesaving training. When he comes back from "break" to unlock the pool so you can enter, he sits in there and watches you while holding a cell phone up. We have teenage girls, and his "monitoring" of our teenage girls was creepy.... we did not leave them alone.... the hotel is large and dark at night. There were many creepy looking men lurking around the exterior of the pool room, and because the interior of the hotel is dark at night, it made me uncomfortable. The bathroom in our room was dirty. They do not clean around the bottom of the toilet, and there was hair in the shower and on the floor. The breakfast is very spread out, but it isn't lavish and the food is sub par. There is not nearly as much variety as there appears to be. The eggs made to order are gross, and the waffles are just like every other hotel. This hotel is outdated and not worth the price, especially with crummy staff. read more
