We had a truck that needed a jump start this morning. The driver called the after hours number and that would have been $625.00, so he decided to wait until they were open. The truck was right next door at the Town Pump, about 800 feet away, so they went over, jumped the truck and got it started and charged us approximately $440.00. For a jump start. Next door to their shop. No other work done aside from driving over there. Their charges were $190 for a call-out (800 feet from their door) and $200 for "Roadside Repair" (connect a set of jumper cables and start the truck) plus fees (CC etc...). I cannot recommend a company that will take advantage of a customer in this way. When I told the owner of our company about this, he wasn't happy (naturally) and then he wasn't happy with himself because he had forgotten about a company he used sometime back for a similar circumstance where a truck ran out of fuel. Apparently, he had call a company called Black Stack Towing and they rescued the truck and were very reasonable. At any rate, we will not be using MCM Truck Repair again. Ever. I will call Black Stack or send our mechanics the 350 miles to Belgrade to fix the issue before I ever call MCM. Judging from the other reviews on here, it doesn't seem like they care much because they haven't changed their practice of overcharging because most of the folks they grossly overcharge are passing through and will have little chance of being back through there. We have probably 5 trucks a week pass through, so the lost revenue potential is substantial. I hope the $440 was worth it. read more

Absolutely disgusted! My husband needed a repair on his truck before leaving Montana to travel back home to the East Coast. This "business" did zero diagnostic testing, supposedly replaced the part that he suggested may be the problem (he is not a mechanic which is why he went to a mechanic for assistance), gave no estimate, kept the truck four days when they said it would take one and charged him $3000!!!! Additionally when he turned the truck on to leave there was another problem that had not been there when he left it. They said they would "help" by fixing the additional issue not charging for labor. They did charge him $75 for the part though. Feeling extremely taken advantage of he chalked this up to a bad experience and headed for home. 4 hours into his trip home and he is stranded on the side of the road because the original problem was not fixed and the truck broke down. I called a spoke to the manager on Saturday in order to give them the opportunity to make this right somehow. She told me to call back Monday and speak to someone else. When I asked what he was supposed to do now she told me she would be happy to send a tow truck to him but that it would like cost us around $10K then she hung up on me. I never ever post bad reviews. I absolutely believe in giving a business the chance to fix a problem and do right by their customer. Well I did that and the help I got was dead air. My suggestion would be to avoid this place at all costs. You can't get much lower than to take advantage of people who you know are desperate for help. read more

My motorhome leaned to the passenger side. I took it in to have them check it out. It took an hour and a half so they charged me $330.00. They said I needed: 2 front leaf springs - $1,596.42 King pins - $724.27 Grease tubes - $17.50 Front wheel seals - $102.82 Sway bar bushing set - $58.01 Front bumper stops - $609.03 Rear bump stops - $834.71 Services - $520.07 Labor - $4,725.00 Total - $9,187.83 I looked the parts up online and could get the same thing over $2,000.00 cheaper. The rear bump stops looked new. I purchased new front ones for $100.00. The sway bar bushings were $7.00. My son-in-law called his mechanic friend and he came over and checked it out. The king pins are fine, it only has 29,000 miles on it. He told me that only 1 spring should be replaced because he saw nothing wrong with them. I then asked him if replacing the front spring would level the back because that is why I took it in? He said nope. I pulled the slides in and retracted the leveling legs so he could see the list. We decided all it needs is one Rear spring. Yesterday he jacked it up to where the spring should lift it and everything is level. Would I go back to MCM? Nope. Would I recommend them to a friend? Needed leaf springs replaced on RV. Was told by the lady at the service desk that THEY DONT GIVE ESTIMATES!!???!! I guess they want you to just leave it then pay whatever they want to charge. Gooseneck trailer had a problem with one wheel, so we removed it and brought trailer to MCM requesting they take a look at wheel and bearings, but we noted that the bearings had been recently re-packed. They assured us they would call with estimate before they did any work. They did not call us until it was ready to pick up. They said the tire had a bulge in it and simply needed to be replaced. We did not buy a tire from them. When we picked up the trailer they gave us a bill for almost $500 - for basically no work done. We went elsewhere to buy new tires. We consider MCM an extraordinarily bad business, dishonest, and do not recommend them to anyone. read more

If you're ever in or near central Montana and have the misfortune of breaking down, needing a tow and/or repair, MCM Trucking Repair and Towing did right by us. We have an RV that broke down and needed both. They picked it up one day and it was repaired the next. Excellent customer service from Cassey and Mitch and happy to have gotten a knowledgeable mechanic, Andrew, who did a great job and gave good advice. Parts dept needs to expand their area when searching for parts needed to get the job done but that's the only flaw as far as we experienced. It means everything to trust who you're dealing with when you're far from home and MCM truck didn't disappoint read more

Recently, had a motor home breakdown in West Yellowstone - called roadside assistance and this was who they sent out to tow us and perform the service. It was approx a hundred miles to Bozeman, but they came right away, loaded up the motor home, and took it to the shop in Bozeman. It was the weekend, but the next day (which was a Sunday) - they worked on it and had it down by noon. The office staff was very friendly and explained everything they had done. They had electric and water hookups for us to spend the night right there - worked great ! We were very happy with the quick response, service diagnosis, and repair ! We would highly recommend MCM for service if you are ever in the Bozeman area and need service. read more

They put the wrong motor oil in my Mercedes RV charged me 724.00 for the service and caused my Turbo to fail did 7500.00 worth of damage. Brought my truck in with a bad head. $16,362 dollars later (after being charged 49 hours labor), the truck was done. Local Kenworth dealer said I was overcharged around $5000 dollars. Three months later, the truck blew the head gasket. When taking it apart, my mechanic said the head bolts were not properly torqued, they used the wrong form or loctite on the cam, the idler gear was installed wrong causing improper lubrication of timing cover, and a large amount of corrosion was found on the block suggesting water was leaking from the beginning. When I contacted MCM they said since their 30 days were up there was nothing they could do. Definitely find another shop for your repair needs. read more

Our motorhome developed transmission and electrical problems just outside of Butte, MT, and, after making phone calls for several hours, we discovered that MCM was the only towing company that would flat tow our vehicle, as well as being a highly recommended shop to do the repairs. We called to schedule a tow and the truck arrived within the hour. Tow was accomplished with no problems, and they got our vehicle into the shop that very day. Work was completed the next day, and the mechanic spent almost an hour with my husband, walking him through the problem and the repair. Fees were very reasonable. We could not have been happier with MCM's service, and recommend them very highly! Stay away from this place it is a total scam and rip off. I won't go into details because it's just way too long but they screwed me hard and the work sucked. Said they change the oil on one of the items and they did I had to take it to Freightliner and get it done but got charged $900 for an oil change that never got done. Other stuff too very shady work and overpriced for my motor coach. The shop time is a set price but what they don't tell you is that's what it cost for each person. So if you have three people working on your rig it's going to be almost $400 an hour read more

I called and inquired about an oil change for my Class A Winnebago and found this business to be a great find for service. They don't do appointments so I arrived early and being a Monday, I saw a long lineup of jobs for their large service department. Ronnie up front was very professional and friendly but thought I would be "all day". Very happy to see that Todd, the service rep came out in only 30 minutes to get my rig. Absolutely the best roadside service we've ever received. The mechanic (Todd) quickly arrived towing a trailer with beyond basic equipment and supplies. He assessed the problem with the use of a diagnostics program on a laptop, and was communicating with their shop - our issue was atypical, but Todd figured it out, fixed it and then followed us into the next town so we could fill the DEF tank that had a failed sensor. Do not use these people, we took a couple vehicles from our fleet in on two separate occasions and they took advantage of us each time by over estimating hours and padding the bill with hidden costs. Charging us for penetrating oil in an aerosol can?? Just one example. The owner has a southern accent and seems to be unscrupulous in case you get him on the phone. He doesn't understand the principle that the customer is always right for sure.They have to pay for their fancy trucks and that over the top expensive shop they just built somehow I suppose. We had and emergency. During our road trip our e350 ford shuttle bus broke 4 lug nut studs and had a flat tire on a dully. We called bunch of mechanics all said they can do the repairs after two-three days. Mcm guys took us instantly and started repairs. Found all the parts that we needed and we where on the road same day. I am no mechanic but I know thing or two about cars. Needed a little repair work on one of my slides (full time in a 39' 5th wheel). Called a few days ahead of being in Bozeman for an appointment to have them look at it and decide on an approach. Arrived at 9:30. They looked at it, came up with a plan, fixed and out by 11:30. Originally thought I would have to make an appointment to come back for the repair. These guys are outstanding. Have my truck there during I am writing this I had fuel pump change and due to metal in the fuel pump had to clean the entire fuel system thx for the guys they did the work and I am paying tho $6606 BIG work Freigtliner gave me estimate of $7400 and after researching and reading about the experience this shop have I decide to take it there since I got a quote of around $6400 from Jay Charon nice guy great talk said work will be done by Thursday bring truck over no problem since I ve been spending so much money on this damn truck every week in shop that is a lot of money and had to take money from the company I am owner operator they said no problem After I talk to Jay he which he said truck parts will have warranty up to 1 yr and 90 days warranty I ask for so many times in order so not come to confusion at The day truck was in shop I said Jay write me an email w the warranty we spoke about so everything is clear well guess what Jay Charon writes me an email and states that 1year parts warranty and 30 days labor that's not what I was told like 3-4 times while we spoke before I bring truck over I am trying to pay now and another suppres the nice Jay calls me up and tell me Hey Elena I forgot to put 3 % on $6600 bill so that's extra about 200$ I said what ??? Why u didn't told me before I am struggling to pay the bill now 200 bucks for me really makes difference Freigtliner shop lower me the bill to 7000k before taking it there and warranty 3 months so I am away of 200$ n more peace of mind if I stayed with them and not going over this freaking bullshit and what irritates me was Jays words well it is what it is well his attitude wasn't like that when I told him for the repair and wanted me to bring business to him Now I just got called from Jay and he refuses to accept my credit cards to coz he wants to be jerk well watch this shop won't recommend to anyone ANYONE !!!!!!! read more

Okay let's get down to the nitty-gritty the response from the owner is a complete and total lie. They tried to explain to me what the hours were on there but could not come up with specifics which is what I was after since I already knew they only spent 4 hours or less on the vehicle as far as research on The Back-up Camera that I provided it was a wireless camera 12 volts for the camera and 12 volts for the monitor doesn't sound like brain surgery it's run off of antenna that doesn't even have to be mounted outside little tiny antenna off the monitor and off the camera so does that sound like something that takes eight and a half hours because the generator work took no more than 1 hour and 47 minutes. Also take notice that all the reviews are five star or one star OOPS! YOU can buy positive reviews check out fakespot.com. If you go to their website you will notice that they offer you to check out their testimonials.Notice every single testimonial is signed in all caps OOPS! Also every single thank you for the five-star reply from the owner no matter when it was supposedly posted was responded from the owner on the same day 4 months ago.OOPS! Please please please I am trying to help at least take these things into consideration before you drop your keys off at this place they will rip you off don't believe the five stars and pay close attention to the one Stars they're all pretty much the same in their modus operandi. Motorcoach Companies & RV owners be Careful - they did not disclose service call fees. Charged this fee + hourly rates. Effectively double billing everything. Owners said they would look into the situation and wouldn't call back when I called to follow up. Less than 50 miles from their garage - 6 hours of which 4 ( 2 round trips) was the tech on the highwway between the garage and the motorcoach ...$1800. These folks initially impressed me, with their big showroom to check in procedure, then We got the bill, yet worse they didn't repair the control module, fridge, lights and much more we asked of them so that we and our 4 pets could get back on the road safely. NO, these folks didn't fix what we asked them repeatedly to fix, they just jerked us around for 4 days and charged us $1100. Nice job idiots! I should take them to court! read more

MCM is a joke. We brought our motor home to get the brakes, cab AC and engine battery looked at. They did other work besides what we asked without getting our authorization. We ended up talking to multiple people and got a different answer in regards to getting the authorization for the additional work. Watch out they will take your money if your not careful. The transmission in our motor home decided to stop shifting out of first gear just a little ways out of Bozeman at 6PM. After calling a few other places and getting answering machines, it was a nice surprise to reach a person even though we called after hours. They offered to call in a technician to try to fix it that night for an extra fee, but we opted to come in first thing in the morning. Everyone in the office was professional and extremely accommodating. They figured out what the problem was, located a part, and got us back on the road in just a few hours. They have a very comfortable, clean waiting room with WiFi and snack machines and two precious dogs that we were able to love on while we waited. We decided to rent a car and they drove my husband to the airport to grab it and also suggested some fun activities for us in the area. Although no transmission work is cheap, we felt like the charges were very fair. We were camping in the area and a few days later noticed our running light was out. So we stopped back into MCM and they took care of us right away again. I highly recommend these guys if you have issues with a large vehicle in this area. read more

Our 5th wheel has had some significant structural issues. These folks went out of their way to help us with a significant disruption to our vacation. As we were arranging a tow they kept checking in on us. They allowed us to stay over night on their site. As we wait for an insurance assessment they continue to give 5* customer service. Our experience with m and m was mixed. We had a problem with our water system, the water leaked out as fast as we put it in. We arrived at m an m at 12:30. They got us in by 1. The technician was great and determined the problem within 15 minutes. He went to lunch while the part needed was ordered. My husband offered to go pick up the part and they said they would just get it. The tech returned and they had sent the wrong part so they sent for it again. When the part was there the tech took less than 30 minutes installing it and a new sewer hose. My husband paid and hooked our Jeep back up. He was grumpy and I found out they charged over $750. For their service. I went back in and requested a review. They charged for 51/2 hours service. We were hooked up and ready to leave by 3. We were on their lot but two hours. They said they had to charge for picking up the part. They charge the same fee for a delivery man and they do for their tech. They charge when they make an error. Even so their was no way they had 51/2 hours. Beware! They take advantage if they can get you. They should be ashamed, but instead they became belligerent and nasty. The service manager was the worst but then I blond girl smirked. I think the other girl looked a little embarrassed. The tech was great, but at the price, I would never return or suggest you go there without being fully informed and it would be cheaper to pay a taxi to get parts. Just sayin. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. Brought our truck camper to them for a repair when we were traveling through Bozeman. Three or four days after we dropped it off we picked it up and continued on our trip. Only a few hours down the road it failed and we had to stop. It was a holiday weekend so we were stuck for four days before anyone could look at it- we were in a very remote area. Turns out MCM used substandard parts that were not even meant for our type of vehicle, and these parts immediately stripped after we picked it up. We contacted MCM for a refund ($500 about) and they refused to back their work, even after we sent them pictures and had a report from the mechanic saying the work was shotty and the parts were wrong. When we tried to speak to the manager again they wouldn't talk to us. They still won't contact us back. It sucks because not only did we have to pay for the work twice but we also had to pay for 5 nights in a hotel while the new mechanic fixed our truck after this place screwed it up. No character, rude, and don't back their work. Avoid! read more

Professional, courteous and informative. The owner charged an exorbitant fee for a short tow - a fee which the driver agreed was excessive. This company will take advantage of your situation should you be in a car accident. Call someone else, or encourage the Police to choose another provider. read more

BEWARE!! Do not trust these people. They are thieves that pose as a business. We brought our motorhome in for a generator repair and a back up camera installation. They left our motorhome in shambles and then charged us over $1400. When we dropped it off we were told that it would take a couple of days. It was there for almost 2 weeks. Everything was working properly when we dropped it off with the exception of the generator. Which did run but would cut out after about 10 minutes. They told us it needed a part that cost almost $800. We declined them having to do anymore work since we were just getting the runaround from the beginning. They told us that the back up camera was installed when in fact it was not. So we had them do that and picked up our motor home. When we drove away from their lot, we had a non-functional instrument panel. No speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, right turn signal indicator. All of these things were working when we dropped it off. When we complained about the bill, they held our property ransom until we paid then they charged us a credit card fee even though we paid cash. Believe the bad reviews. The good reviews are bogus and made up by friends and family. Worst business I have ever encountered in my life. They are robbing people to pay for that new construction for their huge new complex so they can rip off even more people. Do not trust! Go anywhere else! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! read more

Traveling from NC out West in our 42' motor home. We broke down in Yellowstone Park only 28 miles from our destination for a few days stay in Idaho . We had to find a tow company that not only were licensed to come into the park but also had the equipment to tow a 42' Rv . Jenny at MCM assured us they could handle it & offered to tow us to their shop for repairs . Even offered hook up so we could stay on the Rv in her lot. We didn't want to get off course with our trip so we asked to be towed to our campsite for mobile repair. Hind sight , we should've listened to her recommendations! Not a lot of choices on mobile repair or parts in this remote location. All while dealing with our extended warranty w/good Sam. Jenny sent her husband Jeff to tow us. He showed up w/a nice big rig & lowboy to tow us. He was very friendly & compassionate about his job & business. This is a family owned business & they do a top notch job. Do not bring your RV to this business as they are not qualified to diagnose or repair ANYTHING beyond basic mechanical issues. We brought our motorhome in for a circuit board installation for our refrigerator (we provided the circuit board) we informed them of a previous recall of the fridge. They said they'd look at it. We also had one nonfunctional leveling jack. Three days after dropping our vehicle off they informed us that although they installed the circuit board the fridge still didn't work because of the recall...although they assured us that the circuit board worked.....? They couldn't get parts they needed because of the recall....but we owed them 8 hours of labor ...for research on a nonworking fridge. The leveling jack? They attempted to operate it...they diagnosed that there's some sort of internal failure.....ya think? For all of this non service the bill was $1312.00. We disputed this gouging price for an unrepaired vehicle. They would not release our keys until we paid. We have filed a complaint with Montana Consumer Protection (they already had 5, we gave them their 6th) we rated their facebook page appropriately and now we're reviewing them here. Do not bring any vehicle to them. In all our years of vehicle ownership and maintenance, we've never been scammed like this. For a maintenance business to portray themselves as qualified to perform a service, not follow through and then charge the consumer is unacceptable. Avoid, avoid, avoid this business which needs to lose any certification or licenses to do business with the public. We wish we'd researched them. read more
