They all lack a genuine buttery-baked flavor, and the chocolate chips are on the cheap end of the scale. Parking is impossible so just plan on parking down Cuthbert and walking up. We live right around the corner from this bakery and, while their desserts can sometimes be very good, I don't quite understand the hype around it. We've been here a couple of times to try different things. First of all, some of the women who work there will rush you along. There are two women who, as soon as you open the door, ask if you're ready. Um, no, we haven't even seen what you have yet. While most of their desserts have signs, their cakes, the most important thing to have signs for, do not. So you have to ask what the flavor of the cake is. Once, we got a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and it literally tasted like a Betty Crocker mix cake and we paid $22 for it. One thing I do really love there are the orange coated cupcakes. It's a moist orange cupcake covered in orange flavoring. However, the last time I picked a couple up, I feel like they had been left over from the day before because the coating cracked off like glass and it had almost no flavor. This place is definitely hit or miss. When something is good, it's very good. But when it's not, you feel like you were robbed because, as I said, they are very overpriced. If you are looking for a great dessert and a great variety, go to Sweet Eats in Voorhees. They are on point every time. read more

If I were offered a last meal on earth it would hands down involve McMillan's cream donuts. They are AMAZING. One of the wonders of the world, for sure. They are fluffy, messy, sweet, light, and satisfying all at once. And while they look like pure sugar, they do not possess that cloyingly sweet sickening aftertaste. That's 4 stars for the baked goods which are a bit high-priced, but there's one miserable woman who is always there who looks and acts like she hates waiting on you. The others are pleasant and helpful. Friday am before Easter called to see if they had a certain item. She said they did. I tried to reserve it and she sad "no." Five minutes later I walked in the store to get it and she said they must have sold out. Very disappointing as it is one thing I get my dad once a year who lives 150 miles away. Asked if they could make me one for pickup the next morning. She said "no" again. You're not selling priceless heirlooms. Or cheese, then there is my favorite the powdered vanilla creme, there is so much creme it's like mega filled and to die for. All of their donuts and baked goods r delicious! !! I have never been disappointed and have been going there since I was a child and decades since it is still my favorite. It's been in business way before I was born but the staff and people running it have maintained the excellence in quality and if u ever go there on the weekend it is packed but the staff move quick and service is great friendly and helpful. If u love pound cake or strawberry shortcake they are known as the best. I can honestly say my favorite cake is German chocolate and it's like so decadent and worth every pound I usually put on when I have had it for my birthdays. Take it from someone who had been buying from here for over 25 yrs. Best in South Jersey , or all of Jersey. Just walking in the bakery is like heaven as it's ust so hard becuz I want everything . Mcmillan's is my favorite bakery. i've been going to this bake shop, most of my life. Last night, i was giving a rehearsal dinner for my son and his future bride. I wanted to order cupcakes from McMillan's to add to the festivities. I called in advance, which is necessary and requested 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes. i was told they did not provide half dozens. ok, i'll order 3 dozen, even though they're expensive and i don't need the extra 6. When it came to picking them up, i discovered the cupcakes looked like someone had made them in their kitchen. very disappointing. i also discovered that the single letter i asked be written on each cupcake, were poorly drawn. i expected so much more from this bake shop. read more

I'm not much of a sweets guy, but the Glazed Apple Cider Donuts here are OUT OF THIS WORLD! As in BEST. DONUTS. EVER! A religious experience is about the only way to truly describe them. Because of this, we make a point to get them as often as we can and especially on special occasions. I recommend that if you are planning on going to get some after noon, place an order in advance. Otherwise they'll most likely be sold out. I've never had a problem with the service at McMillan's but I do agree that the parking lot is extremely tight. I usually just park at Wawa next door and walk over. I've never had to wait very long so it's never been an issue. The prices are on the high side, but you get what you pay for. We had a friend over for dinner last night, and I got a selection of eclairs, maryanns, etc for dessert. Our guest and I opted for half of a few things....one of them being the orange glazed cupcake. There was silence in the room ....as we were speechless at the deliciousness in our mouths ! OMG, I was swooning ! Try this one ASAP ! 12 hours later I am still thinking about that cupcake ! Oh my goodness. I recently came across one of the creme donuts everyone keeps raving about on here while walking through the lunch room at my work. Someone had brought in a box of donuts from here and wrote "Enjoy" on the lid. It just happened to be cheat day and I just happened to peak in this open pastry box and see one regular donut and one of these....?? I wasn't quite sure what it was. Creampuff? Donut? Whatever it was, it looked AMAZING and I had to have it. As I was wearing a black top I hurriedly stuffed the collar of my shirt with paper towels and took a bite... ***BAM*** flavor explosion. Sweet, but not sickeningly so (which is surprising because its huge!) I found out where these were from and its only 20 minutes away! DONT GO HERE! Everybody is rude and they don't know customer service. I was given hella attitude and was rudely interrupted numerous times. This was my go to bakery but fuck that no one deserves to get treated rudely when trying to order cupcakes. If you're not able to do the service simply say that and don't snap at me.
