The menus were so gross that you didn't want to touch them and the staff was very rude. One bartender seemed to care while doing all of the work. Don't use the bathrooms either! Gross! After waiting over an hour for food we decided to leave since figured the kitchen was probably in need of cleaning too and then staff to cook in it. if i could give this a minus 5 stars, i would. as a parent of young professionals, i am discussed and horrified of this place. my daughter and her group of mid-20's girlfriends were out to dinner and visited mcnally's for an after dinner cocktail. they were yelled at by the staff, "ugly bitches, go back to harpos where you belong" and flipped off by the so called horrific manager as she shoved them out the door. these individuals were simply sitting at tables, not doing anything disrespectful or loud. were totally caught off gard by the staff. i pray this never happens to any young girls again but am afraid this might be their matra. please, anyone young and female, stay away, for your own safety. concerned mom read more

Not sure what happened to this place, was great years ago, no longer. Maybe a change of management? Anyways, place is very dirty, and I am sure the kitchen is as well. Was forced out by management and still not sure why, of course after spending lots on food and beer. Just beware, if you are not a regular, you will be treated poorly. Pretty standard, really. If you've been to an Irish pub in America, well, you know the drill. But it's our go-to spot for those hanging-out-not-partying nights. The bartenders are nice, and you never have to wait very long to get a drink. No cider on tap; they only have canned Strongbow. Lots of booths and seating, but it gets more and more crowded as the night goes on. Pool table in the back, too. $5.00 minimum for credit cards so bring that cash. read more

I've found myself at McNally's a few times now, but this review refers to a particularly hazy evening there in the recent past. _________ McNally's saved my life! A group of 10 of us barged through the door after 9pm on Saturday night. The wings place had been closed for hours, and we were getting hungry and thirsty. Our not-so-quiet group surrounded a table, ordered, a bunch of pitchers, and then called for two 20-inch pizzas from Wiseguys. We ate. We drank. We gave toasts. Our server Ginny was a great spirit through the whole thing. The foosball table is legit, too. It's a three-back set up, but it plays clean and I was on fire too. Something about the wonderful greasyness of the pizza that made my hands become one with the handles. Poetry. Minus-1 star for teasing me with a cig machine, but then it not accepting any of my $1 bills. There's a slight chance it was my fault.... Go here if you want a slightly dark, low-cost bar with good people working in front and behind the bar. $1 Killians on Mondays is a nice touch too. read more

Great place for drinks with friends, no long lines or a cover charge. Just good beer and drinks for cheap. Monday's are awesome with $1 pints of Killians. Saturdays are $2.50 pints of Boulevard. Can also order pizza from Wise Guys next door, great for late night food and drinks. Kenny and Jay are awesome bartenders, always friendly, will remember your name and provide great service. FYI Credit Cards are a $5 minimum, so bring cash and tip well! read more

McNally's Mondays are what first brought me to this bar. On Mondays Killians and Coors are one dollar pours. They have a pretty good pizza place in the back too (Wiseguys). It's low-key most nights and never standing room only packed. Kind of an odd crowd sometimes too. One night I swore there were some 12 year olds in a booth in the back, someone said they were in a band. I'm still not sure why that makes it OK. If you want a real Irish pub, however, you should drive down to Jeff City and check out Paddy Malone's. Guinness done the right way and Harp on tap too. read more

Okay, so I really don't want to rag on McNally's. I like that it's divey and I like the crowd here. Bartenders and food have always been great, but I have noticed a continuous lack of decent service from the wait staff. This has been observed over a dozen visits but I'll share two from the last few months. One occasion it was afternoon and there were a few people there but not what I'd call busy. Friends and I sat down and after 10-15 minutes of no service, I went up to the bar to get drinks. 10 more minutes pass with no service (waitresses are walking past us constantly) so I go up to the bar and ask for a menu. Still no table service. 10-15 more minutes pass (we've been there probably 45 minutes at this point) I go up to the bar, return the menu and told the bartender we were going to Billiards due to not getting any service in almost an hour. She smiled and nodded untroubled by the turn of events. Second notable instance: New Years Eve/Morning I went to join some friends at around 12:20 am. Yes the bar was packed. It looked like our waitress was closing out a lot of tabs. I sat down and about 15 minutes later she made it to our table and I asked for a draft beer. After that, Nothing. We were all completely forgotten about. Finally 20-30 minutes later I went up to the bar and was helped immediately. My friends had to make their way up to the bar to pay their food and drink tabs as well. Both instances, I was eager and willing to spend more time and money at the bar, but received terrible service. I've learned my lesson. I'll keep going on occasion as long as I make sure to go up to the bar for drinks and eat before I arrive. read more

I have been around Columbia for over 25 years and remember this as "Godfathers Pizza". The bar is open, but seems the same seating arrangement is the former pizza place. I would have given it four stars but the pool table area is simply too small for a pool table at all and the food is average and tap list is a 6/10 at best. read more

A friend of mine was in town visiting from Tennessee. She is 21 years of age and her ID got denied. The guy taking our order came to our table with an attitude and asked for our ID's. When it came to my out of state friend, he said "I can't believe you walked into this bar with this fake ID". My friend is obviously of age, has a conceal to carry, 3 other forms of ID, and the server didn't bother to get a second opinion or double check the ID. He was going to keep the ID, but gave it back when we said our friend had to drive back to Tennessee the next day. We were embarrassed in front of dozens of people at the bar when our friend is of age and our server insisted the ID was fake. This is a college town, not everyone is going to be from in state. There is a police station around the corner from the bar and we saw a cop to get his opinion, he took the ID and liked it over and said that it was real. The cop also said "yeah this bar has a reputation for treating people like shit and always having a select group of people that they allow in and associate with, you're better off going somewhere else". I am also from Tennessee, but am a Missouri resident and also used my military ID (which I've had a minor issue with before at this bar, but it got resolved and is no longer an issue) to show my age. If anything I would imagine them to question my ID for it being a military ID and something people here might not see a lot. My whole friend group was so embarrassed in front of dozens of people when we were not in the wrong. If you're looking for an Irish pub, you've found it. It looks, smells, and tastes like one too. The pizza is good (even sober).

I've not eaten here, but I have visited and had a couple of drinks. It's about what you would expect from a dive bar - noisy, dimly lit, etc - but they do seem to have great drink options and a helpful staff. If I were going out with friends and just wanted to chat in a busy atmosphere, I would choose McNally's. read more

My favorite dive. Dimly lit, no top 40 playing. Table service can be a little slow. Go up to the bar. :) Wise guys pizza is in the back, arguably the best pizza in town. No card charges under $5. Heavyyy handed pours on the cocktails. Probably the heaviest in town. Good for a laid back night out. read more

Nice little bar. Sorta dive-y, no cover and can get super crowded on weekends, during sporting events, late at night, Mondays, etc. Good drink specials ($1 Coors Light/Killian's on Mondays) and some of the strongest drinks in town. They also have pizza, Foosball and pool, in case your table conversation is lacking. Oh, and did I mention the drinks? Strongest ones in town, I swear. Not sure about the other reviews that say bring cash. Never had any problems paying with a credit card. read more

Visited a friend in Columbia and he took me here. We ended up staying for about 6 hours! The bar has a great vibe, excellent bar service (thanks Jay and Megan), tasty drinks that are well-priced, and the affiliated pizza place makes *delicious* food.
